Q:
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.
Q:
I’m a total beginner with warrior.
And i heard previous Dungeon pure GS build had a trait only due to the bugged signet.
Wich build (with GS) should i use now for dungeons and fractals?
Another question:
would i lose much dps equipping a wupwup armor in fractals?
Since its free >.> because i have full set of “healer” (my usual luck -.-) chests from fractals, i would use it to get to proper AR.
A:
Wich would be this 6/4/0/4/0 build? :O
i m totally clueless about warrior.
Also wich weapons should i absolutely have with me?
Someone told me to bring GS/SW-WH (and a Longbow), but i see you use Axe-SW.P.S: thank you flissy for now.
6/4/0/4/0 will be the replacement to the 4/6/0/4/0 build I posted. One Warrior in every group should be running this, and the rest should use the 6/6/0/2/0 build. A little coordination in your group as you start and you can find out who’s running what.
You should have every weapon with duplicates ideally.
For reference, these are the weapons I have in my bags. It’s a little more min/maxy than most care about, but the ones every Warrior should have I have bolded and italicized:
You don’t need Hammer or Shield. Carry both, but Sigil choice doesn’t matter, I just have Battle on my Shield as that’s what it came with, and Intelligence & Hydromancy on Hammer as that’s for WvW. Also note that my Maces and Warhorns are for when I run Axe based builds (mostly for Fractals due to Call to Arms).
As you can see, if you want to be prepared for all situations you’re gonna need a lot of weapons. This is absolutely not necessary though.
I put Axe/Sword as the offhand in the builds I post because it’s the one I find I use the most. This is because Axe is the highest 1h DPS option incase I need to swap to the Sword to proc an energy sigil and use Riposte. I’m also the player who usually does the pulling in my groups, and Sword #4 allows me to pull without crippling the mobs.
For easier dungeons, you could just put Axe/Warhorn on for group swiftness and mobility. Put Sword/Warhorn on for trash skips in Arah.
It’s mostly just know when to use what, in honesty, and how prepared you are for it.

For the second Warrior, or the “DPS” build (6/6/0/2/0), Deep Strikes is an amazing trait, as it will give 6% crit chance (you won’t need banners, the main Warrior takes those).
But for the main Warrior, or the “EA” build (4/6/0/6/0), I’m honestly not sure. It would only be a 2% crit chance, but there’s nowhere else that point would be better invested.
All in all, I think the builds remain the same and will not change due to the bug fix.
For your second question, yes you’d lose a huge amount of DPS and you should exhaust all reasonable AR options in other slots (I’d say +8, as if you want +9 you may aswell craft good Ascended armor). If that isn’t enough, craft Berserker Ascended. Use your Celestial only as a “last straw” option.

Except the 6/4/0/4/0 build
Except the 6/4/0/4/0 build
You know, it didn’t occur to me to swap AoO for Berserker’s Power.

Well i just need to do my part for dps, i don t really need to support Others ._.
Also i m using warriors in pug runs (arah and fractals mostly) when the Group doesn’t want eles or mesmers.
Bringing weapons copy just for different sigils is a bit too much for me.
But since i m not experienced, could you tell me when should i use the rifle?
Everything else is clear ty.

Whenever you feel you need a longer range than the Longbow provides.
The honest answer is never, but it’s always good to have one.
If you only Arah on your Warrior, get a GS with Force & Undead, An Axe with Undead, Sword with Energy and whatever Warhorn to skip with rather than what I previously suggested.
gs with a fire sigil are you for real
gs with a fire sigil are you for real
To my knowledge, it’s the next-best DPS option after Force.
EA Build Axe: 4/6/0/4/0
EA Build GS: 6/4/0/4/0
This is the only real change.
As far as sigils go, after Force the next best is Frailty, unless you’re in a group that keeps bosses at 25 vuln the entire fight.
I started to think if the pure GS build is really better than the old metabuild lately. Just from theorycrafting, it’s about 5% or thereabouts (depending on what you assume) worse than the pure GS metabuild.
But what it does do is let you swap weapons and thus trigger sigils twice as often, and also perhaps more importantly, it also stacks vulnerability better. Now, I havn’t gotten around to work out all the kinks yet, buuuuut…
In an ideal party (in a not ideal party everything including the validity of using a GS as a whole just goes straight out of the window) your DPS as the second Warrior should be somewhere in the low-average spectrum of the party. So, if your party isn’t sitting on 25 vulnerability, if you can manage to generate even 1 extra stack of might on average over the GS build, wouldn’t the old metabuild outshine the new pure GS build?
The thing is, when you start talking about min-maxing in this game down to below 10%, I kind of feel it gets a bit sketchy because in any encounter that’s not complete faceroll, you won’t be doing perfect rotations and a lot of what’s assumed often goes out of the window (e.g a party which under perfect rotations that can generate constant 25 stacks of vul, and thus making any extra useless might not be able to), and you really have to start moving from theorycraft to a ‘real world’ situation.
Like for example, missing/interrupting 100B or delaying it is DPS loss on a pure GS setup, with interrupting it being a huge DPS loss. You might have to factor that in, and then other alternatives might start looking more favorable.

That’s why I always laugh when the so-called “pros” accuse me of “spreadsheeting” DPS then immediately turn around and claim that GS is the best DPS (but only so long as you’re hitting perfect HBs and WWAs on cooldown). I did a crunch on the actual numbers and GS loses more damage with every interrupted HB, you can take a look at them here:
http://www.dtguilds.com/forum/m/6563292/viewthread/12695698-interrupting-axe-auto-vs-hb
But if you don’t care, basically axe not having a cooldown makes a big difference is the obvious takeaway.

I had a look at the other discussions on that forum as well. From what I saw, it seems that of you change your rotations slightly, you can end up getting a completely different results, often with GS/Axe>GS.
So the takeaway I got is that, other than the fun of theory rafting, when you get min-maxing down to <5%, you have to question if what you’re doing is really actually practical.
