PvP 4th season

I’ve been running a lot of thief this season, but not because warrior is ineffective. I run this when the opposing team comp does not suit my thief build.
This build pretty mush laughs at anything short of a massive condi burst, has 2500 armor, and grants might when blocking an attack. I pypically take full advantage of the extra block on mace and sheild when waiting for my next burst or berserker to build as much might as possible. The longbow burst and arcing shot fired at your feet is great fro cleaving away annoying clones from mesmer, and i can typically stand in a team fight much longer. a couple of notes
- Especially in a +1 always take target if one gets popped. even if you think that was the wrong target to take. confusing your team by changing the target or ignoring the target is a good way to get screwed.
- you have the power to get through an elementalist’s condi cleanse, break through a necro’s shroud, and keep the pressure on an engi.
- You have the stability and regen to deal with DH and you’ll find that barraling through their traps will help your team by negating the damage they would otherwise take.
- when in doubt, go full bore on your current target. You’d be surprised how many times you get a suprise kill before they can drop you.
- Whenever you start a solo queue. make it clear to your party that you need them to call and take targets. Some of them may never listen, but at least if you call and take targets you know it’s not your fault.
- Use pin down at a Targeted opponent. they may block it, or dodge it, but if they don’t your party will thank you.
- combo: Headbut, Berserker>Skull Grinder> Mace 3> Skull Grinder> sheild bash> Auto> Skull Grinder
emphasis on: how ur r doing. wins/losses
The Tiny Yuno Sniper of Ebay [EBAY]
I’ve been bouncing between K Pop’s build, Warlord’s build from S1, Drazeh’s build, and full glass gun flame. 81/163 win/total* at this point and I’m hanging up for about a month. I played really hard over the weekend and there’s just no getting around team comp being a huge deciding factor. People are still adjusting to the meta shift (self included) so gonna give it some time.

Current iteration of my build. Wanted quickness for cleave, wanted dead or alive to be cheese. I bounce between scrapper runes and surging runes. http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vJAQNAR3enMdAdhgVhAmhAElilqA7d02antIFgGQAQpHE7iBA-TpBFQBE4IAwgLAw92fAAHEgG8AACYZAA
Currently I am at 46/87 wins/total. So I had a reasonable streak in there currently t1 ruby. But solo que is very punishing at 50%. Most effective to que with 1-2 people.
Balance stance really evened out the build. I was big on sig of might, but with class stacking, it was still giving me some issues from the dazes. So give up surprise rev ganks with unblockables so ensure I could do a little more reliable dps. Oh and the swiftness is huge. Plus I have always loved Heightened focus. It is kinda sub par but one of our best traits.

Ive kind of quit playing ranked since que times got silly and theres no reason to play season 4.
But im running
Arms 2-2-2
Defense 2-1-1
zerk 1-1-3
Demolisher amulet
Rifle with sigil of fire & air
Great sword with sigil of bloodlust and force
Healing signet- signet of might- the 2 obvious stances and signet of rage
3-0 on warrior and 4-2 on mesmer
This is what I play—with Diviner’s.
I’m not a great warrior. Played/won is 154/78. I decided not to post the build unless I could take it to Diamond. Since that day has come, I guess I’ll shoot for Legendary.
Some points to consider as follows.
(1) Boons like quickness, stability, and resistance are kinda trolly on this build. Stealing stronghold mists—low hanging fruit.
(2) Can almost always apply mild pressure and burst frequently with immunity.
(3) Win most v1s against any profession. Thieves and mesmers are the toughest for me; and I’ve fought a few guardians, revenants, thieves, and mesmers that I was pretty sure there was no way I could mechanically beat them.
(4) Guardians require some patience. I find that keeping distance while using auto-rifle with quickness to probe for opportunity works well. Then close and beat the snot out of them.
(5) You’ll catch a lot of grief for running rifle.
Wow you play last stand? I salute you sir. I love that trait. it’s too bad it compets with cleansing Ire and rousing resilience. (especially rousing resilience, as i’d love to have an auto stun break that procs rousing resilience)

Yeah, all are nice traits. I run rousing resilience with Viper’s and cleansing ire with everything else. Except on this build. Huge resistance uptime and brawler’s recovery make cleansing ire less important. Toughness from rousing resilience is nice; but adrenal health, shield 5, and rifle 4 keep me out of enough trouble. The stance duration of last stand, boon duration of the build, and the 3 stance utilities all complement each other well. Last stand’s auto-proc of stability is also nice. In my matches so far, I’ve only been pulled a couple of times by a guardian.
Macebow for most matches and Ragezerker for matches when I need more cleanse. I know it’s cheese and players get annoyed with it but I play to win and these builds are incredibly strong in small fights. You will still no matter what get hard countered by Mesmers, Scrappers, Guards and other Warriors but comes with the territory.
Had to modify my build to get traction into legendary, but I finally made it with vanilla rifle. I guess I’m kinda mediocre as a warrior, and I encountered several haters along the way. ~90% solo queue. Played/won 524/242 (yikes). Build as follows with Diviner’s.

How do you play this? Point camp or team fight etc?

It’s situational and has a lot to do with my general approach to PvP (which could be flawed).
Defensively, I’ll solo camp far or mid. I’ll engage on any point to prevent cap or prevent decap regardless of odds. This build has huge resistance uptime, two direct damage invulns, adrenal health, and nice blocks and CC with mace/shield. I also use rifle butt a lot to smack enemies off point.
Offensively, I’ll engage in a fight with even numbers or better except 1v1. No reason to stand on a point held by the enemy while they’re on it. Rifle can pump out some nice damage on focused target. Signet mastery and signet of might provide 2 opportunities to bypass projectile shields. I usually have kill shot and volley ready. No need for full adrenaline on kill shot.
Once engaged, it’s usually win or die. Keep moving. Dodge. Aimed shot and brutal shot to keep distance. Swap to mace/shield if someone wants to get in your face. I’ll disengage if either (A) we outnumber the enemy by more than 1 or (B) if we outnumber the enemy by 1 after an enemy splits off from the fight to decap an adjacent point we hold.
