QUESTION: Build Statistics (PvE)
Depending on your preference all of these are pretty much what you wrote down, except that i feel shout class doesn’t necessarily need to get full healing power if you wanted to be more selfish towards damage and get power or something else. I believe its more popular to aim for balance in power/condition dmg if you do want to go condition, and an easy way of doing it is to get lots of might stacks.
Might effects both and warrior can easily get 11+ might stacks permanently.
I always suggest to get a gear with toughness as warriors already have high base health. Elaborate more on what you like and what you want to achieve (build/playstyle/weaponchoice)
Certainly. Regardless of either of the four builds, my play style is an in-your-face melee warrior. Therefore, I agree completely with toughness being instrumental for warriors. I go in to the thick of it and play offensively, while watching closely for dodge rolls. My goal is to stay in melee for as long as possible before I absolutely must retreat and use my ranged weapon. That’s essentially my play style as a warrior, and I want to build in such a way.
I have little experience with the support build that I would like to play, so I’m inclined to believe you’re right. I’d hate to stack so much Healing Power that I’m essentially a crutch for a solid group that isn’t requiring my insane support shouts. With that in mind, I’m now thinking…
Condition Damage > Toughness >= Healing Power > Power > Vitality (Critical Damage & Precision are neglected)
That seems more well rounded to me now. I’m glad I didn’t start buying that set yet. I think I just needed a second opinion before I purchased anything. Thank you for your feedback, CoaxialMazer.
I’m still very much interested in any additional thoughts. Particularly: Is Healing Power vital for damage oriented builds, or should it be left to more support-y builds? Opinionated, I’m sure. But I’m opinion-less on this and am open to ideas.
Oh, I just realized I forgot one of my main concerns about condition builds and I now question the priorities I listed. The basic trait “Precise Strikes” in the Arms tree causes bleeding approximately every three crits. Should I value Precision more in condition builds?
Thanks again Warrior community.
I love going against the grain (not using Gs or axe/x) but i do know about them and other builds, since i have been testing like a fiend forever on warrior builds. I currently roll sword/sword with longbow and i find it fun (not the most effective build). I get perma swiftness/fury/11+might stacks (almost perma 16) and i don’t lose out on damage via sword attacks or condition damage (1600-1800 condition uptime) and i got a pretty good crit rate off about 67% with fury. Its the only build i roll since, i fell for the all around utility,heal,condition dmg/flat dmg/tankiness and vit. It had everything i wanted but wasn’t weak in every area.
Precision is only important in condition builds for the fact that we need it to proc sigil of earth and to increase our flat dmg for some sustained damage (the precise strike is a nice bonus). Condition dmg is poop alone for warriors especially since its a bit hard to drop alot of constant bleeds without someone cleansing them constantly (and we gotta be in melee mostly to do it if you go swords). Hence if your play style is to get in their face and smash and then get out, i suggest Greatsword with rifle for your play. Great burst dmg/evasion and escapes and then rifles heavy dps from range makes you great in most scenarios. Healing power is really a bunker type/support stat that really works only when there is a heavy need for heals and i honestly don’t think healing power is worth it for warriors (we don’t do it well) and we lose too much on our dps and other vital stats.
Warriors benefits from healing power are poor to the compare with the dmg gains and survivability we get from straight toughness and power. There really isn’t too many choices for max/min benefits for warriors currently and depending on what your looking to play more (PvE/WvW/sPvP/tPvP). I really enjoy my build and wouldn’t mind sharing if you are interested in it, its cheap and covers all the areas i enjoy in warriors. Its a dps build, but its not fragile. Still, you should play how you like and be open to different type of ideas that may be interesting to you. There are certain weapon combinations that go well together though (like GS/Rifle) or (sword-Axe/Longbow) or (hammer/Sword-shield(warhorn)).
Please explain more what you have in mind, and maybe i can help better lead you to a build that satisfies you.
I’d be very interested in information about your build. It sounds very useful. Feel free to share as much as you are willing. You can PM me in game or just leave a link in this thread if you don’t mind sharing with everyone.
I haven’t experimented with my warrior as much as I would like to. I’m still in the process. I’m not entirely sure how to keep that many might stacks up consistently. It must be a trait I’ve skimmed over. My might comes mostly from crits with my greatsword and my elite skill.
Oh, I think I have a general idea of what builds I like. I’m mostly concerned with my stat priorities and how to best go about these builds. Like, for instance, I’m buying the Koda set for my tank-y control build and I’m debating between grabbing all 5 of the Power/Toughness/Vitality pieces or dipping into the Healing Power variant (which lacks toughness). It’s those things that I’m unsure about.
I see, well in terms of stats, they do matter alot. I try to center around 3-4 specific stats pertain to that build, and focus mostly on the abilities of the weapon to compliment the stats. You really are free to go about any stat you wish, but each stat you prioritize, you lose in another place. I don’t mind sharing my build to everyone, as i think i might not be the first to do it, but i strongly believe in its abilities.
My Sword/Sword & Longbow (Rifle) build is as follows.
Sigils – Preference
I used Earth/Doom for sword, and Smoldering for Longbow (force for Rifle)
Full Galraths Armor (Condition/Precision/Toughness) <— Back piece is also C/P/T
2 Superior Runes of Water
2 Superior Runes of Monk
2 Superior runes of Hoelbrak
(50 healing,25 power, 20% might duration, 30% boon duration)
Trinkets Full Carrion (Condition/Power/Vitality)
With Full Exquisite Chrysocola Jewels (same as carrion)
0/30/0/30/10 build =

I can also use warhorn or banner without having to switch any stats around. So this build suited my taste that i can use multiple weapons for utility purposes. It gives everything i need to do most things. All the traits can be moved around for preference but the key part of my build is the 30 in tactics for the boon duration and 10 into discipline for the signet mastery. With those two alone and the runes on your armor, you get perma swiftness/fury/11+stacks of might.
Utilities
I run normally, Shake it off/For great justice/ Sigil of might (i can keep it up for 18 sec of +5 might if i want damage with 2 sec off time) or stability stance *it stays up for 13.5 sec with this boon duration build, or any other utility i feel i may need. My heal is adrenaline rush for the spike heals and adrenaline gain. If you want to run other stuff in utilities its fine, but i do say you must always have for great justice (perma 6 stack might). And of course signet of rage for the perma swiftness (98% time since there is cast time between swiftness duration and reactivating signet, but 100% with horn).
Stats without perma boons
Power = 1256
Precision = 1596
Toughness = 1386
Vitality = 1546
Attack = 2336 (condition dmg = 1295)
Crit Chance = 36% (46%with sword)
Armor = 2597
Health = 24672 (armor to health ratio is almost ideal (1:10 ratio is ideal))
Stats with Perma boons (16 stacks of might (95% of the time), swiftness and fury)
(only showing the stats affected by might)(fury gives 20% more crit chance btw)
Power = 1816
Attack = 2896 (condition dmg = 1855)
Best part of the perma boon, is that its good for either condition or crit builds, who want extra survivability, and perma swiftness/fury/11+stacks of might (25 stack super easy with GS) and still got the shouts, the ability to use bow always, or warhorn, or banner without needing to switch builds. I chose to be well rounded and still have high condition damage. The only weakness thats very evident, is if someone removes your boons, your dps drops significantly.
Another awesome part of the build, is if we get boons from anyone or our warhorn when it changes a condition to a boon (if traited) then they last for 60% longer, and if its might, its 80% longer. Thats what made this build a favorite in my taste. I have had success in sPvP sometimes, other times not so much, but this build is definitely an all around build, do what you feel kinda build. I don’t know the full potential of it, but it does make my warrior feel less weak in certain areas since im always trying to make tanky/dps with something that has as little weakness as possible. (the biggest one for this is the boon removal).
I hope anyone else who finds my build helpful can further pursue the best build for their warrior. Its really preference, but i think we still need to see what warriors have that is better than other classes (hard to find but, im working on it).

Another secret to condition builds is, that its tick dmg is based on your condition dmg at the moment, not when you applied them, which means if you had 8 stacks of might when you flurry an enemy and then for great justice and procked sigil of might, the next ticks will jump in damage by the extra 8 stacks of might that you just obtained.
Also i get to use Longbow F1 (Combustion Shot) with savage leap from sword to get the fire sheild temporarily, so if someone attacks they get burned, and it will do damage since i do have high condition damage.

What about the giver armor set for support. I was going to go for vit prec healing on my banner war, but then I saw the giver set.
The new Giver Set is really interesting, I believe it isnt worth the boon duration bonuses unless you plan to be a tanky support. I think the weapons had a 10% boon duration, which is far better than the full set of armor and trinkets, which i heard as being 1% per a piece (which i am not sure is right, but is aweful to lose in terms of stats.) I wouldnt, mind using the boon duration from the weapons if i feel i want to use other runes instead of water/monk for the boon duration increase.
What about the giver armor set for support. I was going to go for vit prec healing on my banner war, but then I saw the giver set.
I don’t see why would you want to have boon duration in a banner build. If you take banners, you won’t be using skills that actually grant boons. Also, vit is bad regardless of your build.
I think the weapons had a 10% boon duration,
The weapons have condition duration, not boon.
^ thank you for the clarity, i just found out recently. Makes sense, since 10% boon duration would be OP.
Interesting. I really like it. I had underestimated boon duration. I think I may choose this build for my condition builds, or simply use it as a basis. That consistency with boons and the boost you get from them sound insane. I’m definitely going to play around with this to see how it feels.
Thank you for sharing. I really appreciate it. I wouldn’t be surprised if you constructed a full guide.
^ Your Welcome, I probably should provide a guide for new players. I hope i was helpful, and yes boon duration is quite strong for warriors.
