I am leveling up a warrior and was looking at how i wanted to build it and found the last trait line, Discipline, to look interesting but confusing too as to what kind of build it would create.
Can anyone explain to me exactly what putting my point in its abilities in that trait would effect my warrior or if putting much in it would make me a weak warrior. I’m going for a damage type build.

Thanks.

Well, for damage-oriented traits, the Discipline line shines with Signet Mastery, Heightened Focus and, if you wanna go that far into it, either Quick Bursts or Adrenal Reserves.

A lot of people like the 15 point minor trait Fast Hands. Depending on the situation, Sweet Revenge is also very handy.

So if you swap your weapons a lot, go with a minimum of 15 points. Generally the first 10 points into Discipline produces more damage than the last 10 into Arms or Strength.

Edit: He beat me to it!

Discipline has benefits that are not directly related to damage, but complement it very well.

The important one is at 15 points with “Fast Hands.” This trait completely changes how you can use your warrior. Weapon switching is highly important, especially for warriors.

At 20 points you have some interesting choices. Probably the more common is “Mobile Strikes” which allows any skill that generates movement to break immobilize. Also you have access to “Sweet Revenge” also at 20 points, which can be invaluable when in PvE(to a lesser extent in PvP) so using Veangeance doesn’t become a roll of the dice.

Then the added bonus to going for any of those gives you access to “Signet Mastery” at 10 points, which improves Signet of Rage’s uptime/downtime ratio. Chances are, if you’re a warrior, you’re probably using Siget of Rage, and if you’re using signet of rage, you want it to have as much uptime as possible.

20 points is usually the most anyone will invest into discipline, any more and you’re probably running a specialized build for something specific.

So for a build that uses those abilities from Discipline what weapons would be optimal for swapping? Right now i use a greatsword (love 100 strikes) and a longbow. I found hammer to be uninteresting in its moves…

sword/anything else. sword = mobility, decent dmg, cripple, immobilize burst skill, and all other offhands compliment well. Sheild gives slight invuln/stun, warhorn gives mobility/vigor and takes off some conditions or converts if speced for it, axe does great aoe dps, mace is nice aoe knockdown and vulnerability on single targets, and offhand sword is probably least favorited, but it can provide bleeds easily and rip does some good dmg (minus the long cast time). Your best bet are the first 4 with sword main hand. I personallly think sword is better than mace/axe as the second set when combined with GS, unless you want eviscerate, go axe.
