I don’t think there is an answer. It’s a very old build, like at least 2 years old. It evolved with the game.

Nobody made it viable. It just is.

According to Twitch.TV Shin seems to think he made it. Or refined it, one of those two anyway.

Because he was totally the first person to equip a hammer and a greatsword. Sarcasm

And it’s not like hammer/gs is so incredably self explanitory to rune/sigil/trait aswell.

2. Making builds are not rocket science, everyone puts on full zerker and if you actually go through all the, armor stats, runes, sigils, skills and utilities you’ll get an idea of what you can benefit from

The trait setup made it a very logical setup, so many people thought of it and decided to try it. Not only that, at least a year ago it was popular in WvWvW.
