What’s the better option to have in my secondary weapon slot, and why? I mainly ask because I see many warriors with bows, and many with rifles. There doesn’t seem to be a huge bias one way or the other

rifles are for power builds and single target long range, burst suck in 1v1 ‘cause of casting time, it’s good on zergs, no one can see it coming and does a lot of dmg
bow are utility and condition, has great aoe and is melee mid range (dont try to use above 900, you will miss), burst is aoe and good for taking and defending points, also has great synergy with CI

Longbow is better, the auto attack is stronger, and there’s far more utilities. Use rifle when you need the superior range. But to answer your question, your secondary weapon slot should be another melee set in pve. For pvp, longbow is pretty much the best warrior weapon, especially coupled with CI.

I see far more warrior with longbows than rifles. But I also play more PvP than PvE, and the warriors I do see with rifles, tend to die shortly after I see them in the first place.

Rifle is better over time single target damage.
Everything else, longbow is better.

What are you playing? PvE? PvP/WvW? If the latter, Longbow is by far the most popular due to the various meta-builds.

If you’re playing PvE, use whichever suits your fancy. My Charr Warrior uses rifle purely because it suits him from a RP perspective. (Love the little roar he does when he uses Volley.)

Rifle is the best. For looks only though.
