Rangers that give us hard time!
Hi,
I think you should ask in the ranger forum, specifying the pet he used and his weapon set – you’d probably get more expert advice there.
Incidentally, I was dominated a few times yesterday by a ranger similar to the one you describe! He was tanky, mobile, did decent condition damage, and used no bow at all. Given that I was using a rifle, for both damage and knock-back, it felt like I was the ranger and he was the warrior
I checked Retrolove’s ranger builds afterwards (he’s a French PvP player, familiar with all classes, and regularly publishing great videos about build experiments) , and I think I found something close to what he was playing (an off tank condition build, from one year ago).

Hi Elegie, he used a short bow i think, because of the conds, and i only saw a Lynx as a pet, saw no pet swap… he was really fast…. His name is Pvpmaster “something”, dont remember, strange name….
I was running my PvE build in WvW with 65003 and I repeatedly was able to solo these same 2 rangers near their spawn point at a camp in a BL. The worst part is the camp NPCs were on their side too. Any ranger that does a poor job at keeping their distance from a zerk warrior will die.
Perhaps the one you fought knew what he was doing, perhaps you did not. My general strategy for dealing with them is similar to how I deal with others— keep up the pressure and burst them down before they have a chance to stack on the conditions.
It’s especially important that you have stability on you when fighting a ranger, btw. They can knock you back pretty far.
