Reached level 80, what now?
Save karma for armor sets bought at temples in Orr for Power/Vit/Toughness gear that will make you harder to kill. Buy rare berserker accessories from the trader, or exotic if you can afford it.
Do dungeons for tokens for berserker gear which will make you fragile but hit harder. Just join a pug or use gw2lfg.com – CoF is easy and quick, so don’t be scared to go.
You will want this gear for when you are more confident in your abilities to survive and don’t rely on PVT gear as much.
Do fractals and daily for ascended gear.
For a nice safe spec in PVE, use this (healing shouts greatsword), it’s very easy to play. Add soldier runes for condition removal. Copy the link into browser address, don’t just click on it.

You can move the points from shouts into more damage when you feel confident.

Most appreciated.
I’ll have to dig myself into what each and everything mean as so far I’ve only ran a few Story Mode dungeons. One step at a time I guess.
Karma should be fairly easy to farm with the amount of events going around in the world and CoF I would hope does not require you to be heavily over geared to start of with?
Thanks again for the info.
Axe/warhorn lets you get some movement speed for moving around in WvW.
Axe/axe is fine for pve-event farming in Orr, but don’t try it in pvp...
Sword/warhorn is great for any pvp, but bleeds aren’t the greatest thing, so don’t build for them, anything more than 75 per tick is wasting stats imo.
Longbows have great AOE, but even with a 70% crit rate I find that the direct damage is kinda dismal.
Rifle, very usable in pvp, just not very warrior’ish
Longsword are very pvp friendly, just don’t be thinking 100 blades is your only button.
Hammer.. mace.. never tried them much, I use them on my guardian, and they seemed too similar to interest me.
All in all, everything a warrior does is viable in pve, but other people will want you to tank in dungeons, so I would get yellow knights gear, slotted with vitality, green trinkets, and rapidly upgrade to exotic.
gear first, then trinkets, then weapons
While in dungeons build the tankiest you can, don’t forget healing skills like shouts, dodge a lot, and spec for groups in mind.
You should be able to figure out how you want to build your toon in a few days... about the time you are ready to get your first exotic weapon.
The knights gear should work ok with any build... and you can tweak from there.
But get your feet wet in pvp, before making your final decisions.
..and if you don’t like what you are, you can always put on the knights gear and do some more dungeons.
Playing the engineer “as intended” is simply not viable.
You’ve got some really great builds posted here. On the off chance you want to stick with the axe-axe/greatsword thing you’ve got going, I actually use that for a lot of PvE content. If you do want to keep it, my recommendation is to start with Knight gear, get as much precision as you can, then make use of the 66% chance to steal health on crit food. Four/five targets or less with the greatsword and you’ll steal enough health not to take a dent and also deal nice damage, and with whirling axe and the speed of the axe’s auto attack (sometimes switching to the sword for the swirly whirly dodge) you can stand in a pack of 10+ mobs and feel next to nothing, and they’ll be mostly dead in less than 20 seconds. If you play with it, you can get around 99% crit with fury, which should be active essentially all the time if you’ve got axes on, For Great Justice, and the signet of rage.
I like a lot of the builds on here. This is just the one I play with most of the time.
Sounds solid, knights gear being obtained most easily via Sorrows Embrace as far as I understand, correct? Ideally starting out with being able to take a bit more of a beating than going full all out damage would be the most ideal, should help me get my tactics and play-style together.
Most appreciated.
