Reduce Warrior "Mobility" WvW imbalance
Don’t you also have knockdowns, roots, knockbacks, fears, and other cc right at your fingertips, while [swoop] outranges savage leap by 200, and is under [rush] by 100?
All you need to do is keep LB in range, yes?
isn’t your swoop also on a 12 second cooldown, which is almost twice as quick as a warrior’s untraited rush?
Tl;DR Rangers have a myriad of skills to catch warriors, and if you’re fighting a Sword/GS warrior you should be tipped off from the get go that theyll try to run and lock them down before they start.
If you are not fighting a GS/Sword warrior then [Swoop] is enough to pursue.
if you want to talk about cheating past mobs we can talk about your hunter shot, but as for WvW “imbalance”, I would like to say this is a L2P issue if you have no retort as to why you cannot use your skills to keep up with a warr specced for mobility.

If a warrior is specced for mobiliy he isn’t a problem.
A warrior speccing for mobility will (by definition) be mobile. In exchange though, he’ll lose something, either active defense, control or damage. It’s a simple trade-off, and some classes – thief, elem – have less to pay to get a superior mobility (but have other problems stemming from their very nature).
Most warriors choose to include mobility parameters in their build because, unlike many other classes, a warrior cannot teleport (mesmer, elem, guardian, thief) nor stealth (mesmer, thief, engi, ranger), so is always visible to the opponent. Mobility is the only remaining option to disengage from a fight – and of course, disengaging is always the correct tactical choice over persisting and dying.
As a ranger, if you wish, you may also trait for mobility, for instance using the GS and the sword, and using sword #2 to leap forward twice. The low CD on the sword makes it one of the best mobile setup in the game, all the more it brings an evade as well. Similarly though, going for such a weapon setup has a toll.
A warrior running sword/warhorn+GS is useless. Only thing he’s good for is scouting.
Ignore him in group fights and kill all his friends. His buddies will be upset with him for using a troll setup rather than something useful.
If you think warriors with these setups are trolls you haven’t seen PU mesmers, Condi thieves, d/d eles who drop fiery GS to run, etc. I mean, stealth is better than being able to just run away.

Why do Warrior’s get enough mobility skills so it’s impossible to catch them when my Ranger has ONE leap skill on her GS with a cooldown?
Basically a Warrior can out-run ANY profession without issues because they have far too many leap/rush abilities.
There is a sollution that needs to be implemented to balance this, which is to introduce DR (Deminishing Returns) on their abilities. So if they leap or rush, the next similar ability will not leap/rush if used within 30seconds of the first ability.
Alternatively, if this is too difficult to implement, simply make all these abilities share the same cooldown when triggered, thus preventing these skills being used back to back.
Not only will this help balance Warrior’s in WvW, but PvE also, preventing them from “cheating” their way past tons of mobs in dungeons etc.
New player?
Are you actually complaining about leaps on warrior? There’s 2 in total. One on sword that’s 600 range on 8 sec, and one’s on 25 seconds on GS. Meanwhile you have a longbow with 1500 range specced with traits, that hugely out-distances any skill that warriors can equip.

dang. I thought the leap was 900. in that case, swoop outpaces Leap. 1100 distance on 12s vs 8s on 600?
one leap, one swoop = ranger in lead, 12s cd, warr behind, 8sc cooldown.
in 8 seconds warr ahead by 200, but in 4s Ranger outpaces.

I used to think (build op, pls nerf) like you, but then I took a nerf to the knee.
why does your proposed suggestion of diminishing returns have to apply exclusively to warrior mobility skills?
Rangers, Elementalists and Thieves all can be equally mobile with Mesmer and Engi being able to reliably disengage. Guardians can disengage as well.

The implied reason is “Warriors need to be sandbags.”
Sure they can play and such, but heaven forbid they’re actually good at anything they spec for~
Meanwhile I will just ignore my numerous crowd control-

As Azure pointed out there are tons of ways to slow Warriors (or any profession really) down in WvW. One of the things that has come up again and again in these kinds of discussions is +/- condi duration foods, and I’m in agreement with others that suggest that these foods are one of the larger culprits of imbalance as far as mobility is concerned.
There aren’t any consumables that outright reduce physical damage, although of course physical damage only occurs on hit, and not all conditions cause damage. Even still that hard increase/reduction in the duration of condi’s in WvW feels kind of like FGS’ing into a wall pre-patch – it’s very strong.
Whether or not this is too big of an imbalance for WvW is up for debate, but if any change needs to occur I’d get behind changing those foods before changing skills.
so, you want us to not have mobility skill so we can’t engage in melee with you, nice one, the good warrs will use their mobility to gap close rather than gap make….
Also, as everyone said, warriors doesn’t have any other way of disengage, so, why should we be sandbags for you? i mean, if you outplay us, why should we be stupid enough to stay and fight, then die…

AKA “Hey guys I refuse to adapt my game play so please nerf this thing that I think is unfair so I won’t have to”.
The absolute worst part. These are the people anet listens to after they cry enough about something.

While we’re at it you might wanna take a look at other peoples builds. 3 people from my guild yesterday killed 8 people from another guild. All because 1 ranger kited them around for 10 minutes while the thief and warr killed them off. Rangers’ mobility is sick.
ill just leave these here…

Hey kid listen. Warriors got nerfed to the ground because of ppl like you qqing on forums. Now you want more nerfs for them so that they dont have any chance to even run from you cuz your proffesion got boosted sky high?! Because of ppl like you many other ppl are leaving this game cuz anet is nerfing things that are not needed to be nerfed. Now pls stop talking before i get really mad. Thank you.
nice HP.

lookin’ good, but condis will put you at a disadvantage if you don’t predict with zerk stance.
Ranger should be able to catch this though. they have a leap on sword and one on GS, and once zerk stance is burned that build is at the mercy of condi if it decides to run .

Another “Warrior too mobile, please nerf” thread? Seriously?
And to make it more ironic is that the OP is using a ranger which is enjoying celebrity status right now compared to us warriors which are beggars in the slums?
Come on, warriors got bashed all the way into Timbuktu yet people are still complaining? Might as well go send in tickets to Anet asking them to remove the warrior profession and replace it with a big fat staff wielding kungfu panda which can’t run and only has skills that hits at max 10 range. Would that please you now?
And your “balancing” act is simply nerfing without any fixing. How about we………nerf all your ranger’s mobility-related skills, as well as skills that provide invis, fury, might etc too? While we’re at it, we can also nerf your weapon skills by 10% and reducing the range by 50% too. And make your pet die 3 times faster, and disable pet swapping. That’ll be comparable I guess to our adrenaline nerf. Ooh, to compensate, we can give all your pets 3sec of stability on demand. Great balancing idea yeah?
If you want to troll or be dumb, go find another forum to post at. You are not doing this forum, and your brain any favors.
I say warriors need this mobility. They dont have that much escape skills beside movement skills. The main problem warriors have is conditions. Yea they have a bunch of condi clear skills but once those are used we are sitting ducks for about a minute. and since most of warrior skills are melee we need to not only get to you but also get from you. A few mobility tricks wont save us we need lots. Plus like everyone has already stated, a mobility speced warrior is just a big blob of pixels with tricks. Basically a troll build.
Is this OP serious?
The game should NOT be balanced around WvW roaming. Sorry.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
Well I haven’t done much wvw recently, and as someone who only just made a warrior not long ago and just got it to 80, I am not all that familiar with the way it was pre-patch. however, before the patch I never really felt I had any problems fighting warriors while roaming. PvP is a little different because you tend to stay in one place. But fighting them was usually a battle of whom was the more skilled and I never really felt there was anything wrong with them before. And really this could be said for any class. I usually main Mesmer, Necro or Ele (I like my magic/light classes) and have beaten and been beaten by plenty of classes before. Warrior is just a different class to get to know their tricks I guess. Much like thieves, which I used to have the most trouble with until I played one to better understand them.
TL;DR I guess it is more of a getting to know the way they work issue (aka l2p even though I hate that term lol). I don’t know Ranger by playing one very much but I do know they have plenty of CC abilities and a decent amount of gap closers. Back before there were any decent 25% speed runes my mesmer could hardly catch up to anything that didn’t want to be caught in wvw :P. So I don’t really feel you know how annoying that actually can be.

Does no one get that warrior needs this mobility to be able to attack with melee weapon?
