Removing Conditions with Burst Abilities
- Sir Edward Gibbon
I’m missing something here. when did healing surge use adrenaline? is that changing soon too?
Gives adren not uses.
The remove condi is when we gain a bar of adren not use it.
So if you use Healing surge and gain 3 bars, you’ll also lose 3 condis (hypothetically).
so you don’t spend any adren when using it so it means no condition remove….?
correct.
It also means you wont get healed for more.
The trait actually works against itself when comparing it to Healing Surge.
On one hand you want to have the least amount of Adren in order to remove the most condis.
However, you want to have the most adren when you heal so the heal is larger.

Except the leaked notes say:
Cleansing Ire: New Master tier trait with the following effects. Gain adrenaline when hit. Remove a condition for every bar of adrenaline spent.
So are they wrong?
Oh good point, who knows.
Another question is: Would it be able to remove blind?
Another question is: Would it be able to remove blind?
Yes, but….. but but but does it removed the condys before the ability lands or after. that’ll be the thing that needs answered.

Knowing how Burst works, if the attack lands then the Adren bars are spent AFTER the attack has been landed.
So I would chock it up to be the condi’s will be removed AFTER.
In other words, it would never be able to remove Blind.
Also, Weakness would likely still affect your burst attack.
Edit: And so would Confusion. And Chill.

So I guess you spvp warrior guys will be forced into this no matter what?

So basically what you guys are doing is simple current mechanic analysis, applying it to a presumed new mechanic, and slowly figuring out that it’s not going to be all that useful or impressive in most situations.
If these patch notes are right….everyone seems to be okay just believing some picture of text in pastebin.

Yes.
Also
-New condition Torment (confusion on movement) (for thiefs and mesmers bc why not?)
- Stun breakers more evenly distributed across classes’ skills
- New death shroud skill (#5, taking control of a player?)
Compared to removing some conditions in grandmaster trait..yeah.
Im sorry but where did you hear that #5 takes control of people? the necro number 5 was leaked to be 1. aoe torment, 2. at the end of a cast immobilise in aoe
thats as much mind control as throw bolas lol.

The patch notes used the word “control” instead of “crowd control”, pretty sure they meant the latter, and people are just misreading the former and thinking “mind control” (a WoW priest skill to actually control another player). But it just meant cc.
Good to see my WvW hammer war getting even better. <3
As for spvp. I will try some axe builds right of the bat. Seems like there is some crazy synergy going on!
Gandara – WvW Warrior
Good thing you don’t need to see to pop the longbow F1.
The way I read the new trait suggests that when you go from a state of having adrenaline in your bar to a state of not having adrenaline, you remove x conditions for x bars of adrenaline when going from a state of having adrenaline to a state of not having adrenaline.
But who knows until we actually get to test it live…as opposed to us getting to say test it in a test server before it goes live… hint hint Anet.
Weakness:
25% Chance to miss our burst.
Blind:
100% Chance to miss our burst.
Evades:
100% Chance to miss our burst.
If we miss our burst:
We cannot cure any of these, so we waste our adrenaline and our cool-downs.
Horrible system, it doesn’t change anything. Now that we do less damage we will not only not have a spot in PvP, we will lose it in PvE as well. Why take a Warrior when we can play Guardian, do more damage/more buffs/have an overall easier instance run?

Technically you just waste your cooldowns since adrenaline is not spent if you miss, with the exception of Longbow’s.

And then you die, because you failed to do anything.

Since when does Fumble cause a miss? The attack lands and does half damage iirc. So, a hammer burst will still always stun, a sword will always immob etc. I am really not impressed by weakness.

you forgot stunbreaks for everyone now. not to mention them damage nerfs.
Yup, i guess anet just want players to delete their warriors so they can delete this class, dem buffs to zerker guards.

EAARTTHHSSSHAAA—-Blind…
EAARTTHHSSSHAAA—-Interrupt… take backstab damage from mesmer…
Don’t cure 3 conditions, full 10 second CD.
Looks like none of the problems addressed were fixed.
We still need CC to land hits, and that got nerfed (Leg Specialist.) So we lost that.
We still have no sustain.
These patch notes are probably old. They simply must be.

You need to read the description again. It says for every bar spent.
Its worse then you thought :P

Cleansing Ire would make more sense cleansing 1 or 2 conditions each time a bar of adrenaline is achieved. That would promote usage of adrenaline.

Ya, but since when are logical changes ever made to the warrior?

Its pretty logical. Do u want be rewarder for failing in landing ur burst? Anyway if u miss ur burst, tis get blocked or whatever u do not losing adrenaline, basically still running at whole 3 bars.
I hope you’ll be able to spend your adrenaline with a burst ability without actually having to do damage. I guess we’ll find out in a few days if this change is real, and how it’s implemented. All I know is we’re going to want as much condi removal as we can get with Torment + Weakness change. Guarantee there will be lots of folks running condi specs.
What? You guys jump to conclusions. If it cleanses conditions before you land your hit, it’s perfect and exactly how i want it.
If it doesn’t cleanse before hit, it’s useless and kittened. But we don’t know which one is true yet so stop jumping to conclusions.

It’s true that adrenaline is only spent when a burst skill actually lands though. And the trait specifically states that conditions cleanse upon adrenaline being USED as a result. It would be pretty silly to keep cleansing 3 conditions by intentionally missing your burst skill.

Now if there was a DEFENSIVE F2 skill that gave you some kind of protective buff, it would be perfect. However this is not the case.

F2: Shield of Rage Lose 2 bars of Adrenaline, gain 10% damage reduction from all sources for 20 seconds, Stacks up to three times.
When you use it once it gives you 10% for 20 seconds, when you use it again it gives you 20% for 20 seconds, when you use it again it gives you 30%, then when you use it again it gives you 30%, but just refreshes the duration. If you don’t keep it up it goes back to 10% and you have to start all over again.
I had a similar suggestion.

This is for Offhand skills, these are ideas i’ve come up with and seen across the forums, however I don’t remember who to give credit too, I know a lot of people want another F skill. These skills will be more defensive then offensive, however some are offensive secondary options.
