For the past few weeks I’ve been noticing that I’ll sometimes randomly gain retaliation while in combat. Even when completely untraited and having no allies in the world near me. It only seems to happen on my Warrior.

The last time I saw it happen I was wearing Berserker gear with Hoelbrak runes, cavalier’s trinkets, and a Mace/Shield + Greatsword weapon set. I was completely untraited at the time.

Has anyone else noticed this happen? I haven’t had the opportunity to try to get a consistent repro on this.

Finishers in light fields can give you retaliation.

I was soloing a supply camp and it hit me like a ton of bricks with “Hey, Deany Kong, you’re really dumb” written on them.

The WvW Defense Against Guards ability gives you retaliation. Doi.
