Guild Wars 2

Just curious if anyone else has seen this occur, or anything similar.

I was just stood in the circle at a tower defence to block the capture, I turned on my shield stance and it was cancelled within 1 second. I checked my combat log and the first hit to deal damage after I activated it was Rifle Butt, so I can only assume that stopped it (would be easier to tell if there was both seconds on the timestamps, and other things showed such as stuns/conditions etc).

So far I’ve only ever had my Shield Stance stopped by 2 things, and only one consistently:
- Temporal Curtain pull (only happened once, haven’t seen it work since)
- Line of Warding (consistent)

So, has anyone else had this occur?

Never seen it happen but it does interrupt other things, so maybe.

This occurred to me as well. I was holding on my own against two players with Shield Stance on, but the skill was interrupted when some fat warrior decided to Rifle Butt me from the back. It doesn’t make any sense though, since Rifle Butt is considered an attack and Shield Stance blocks attacks. Or am I missing something here?

Nope, as far as I’m aware it should block ALL attacks. Aegis certainly does and Staggering Blow is also blocked by SS.

Updraft also seems to ignore Shield Stance

k maybe i am not crazy but had a similar experience.
was on my mesmer fighting ascalonian ghsots and i hate them for whenever i put eBerserker on them they always seem to do shield stance just at that moment and i curse. Several times i hit mirror blade without thinking while they go into stance and i curse but i seem to dmg them with it. happened to me several times but i just thought i was crazy or shield stance just ended or something.

Okay I must change what I said in the first post about temporal curtain, I’ve been pulled by it no fewer than 9 times tonight during shield stance.. seriously???
