Rifle Roamer
I don’t think it’s possible.
All good roamers have one thing in common, the ability to get away.
Playing the engineer “as intended” is simply not viable.

Knock back from Rifle, GS and charge away? Movement breaks immobilize.
My worry is Rifle on a roamer won’t be able to kill fast enough and it depends on a silly foe that eats our 3sec telegraphed burst?
what you need is a nice thief buddy roamin with you:
-pop Blinding Powder (3s invis + aoe blind 5s in 240radius)
-Shadow Refuge (5s duration, 3s invis per tick)
so you get to nicely Kill shot from stealth AND your thief buddy can immobilize by opening on the future victim with Shortbow #1 Suprise shot
ps: actually any buddy that can drop smoke field so you can blast into it to get stealth or leap through.
I always wanted to make a Death Squad of Executors, grab 4 warriors +1 thief per group, and go at it. Rifle squad take aim FIRE!
Solo roaming with Rifle is not advised… thankfully for rifle Warriors, WvW is all about zerg v zerg atm and it shines here (Piercing trait required).
@Kajin, any group that coordinated for WvW would be better off with 5 Mesmers all looking alike.
That’s the problem with warrior in PvP atm, they always seem to need help to be effective. In TPvP you have to practically set up your team around the warrior for them to work, and even then you would probably be better off with another class. WvW food can somewhat make up the difference but D/D ele’s can still take on multiple foes and do well much easier and all while having better healing and escape options.
Old Man Burr (War), Bad Hat Ben (Engi), Manly Manny Manson (Guard)
My longbow warrior is a ton of fun, but against rogues (anything that OP can’t be called a thief), he’s just a free kill.
Longsword/horn is great for traveling, but 1-on-1, it’s weak beyond words. One of the reasons greatsword is so powerful, is that other people are afraid of it. No one is afraid of bleeds, and no one is afraid of the longbow.
They will charge right in, and burst you down.

If you run rifle, you should grab sword+shield(mobility) or axe+shield(damage) as second weapon set. You just need that shield once things get personal.
Rifle+GS is a bad idea. Rangers might be able to run Longbow GS like np, but that is because their GS doesn’t require cc from other skills to be useful.
Heck, Warriors can run Longbow GS, cause Longbow got some more synergy with the GS than the stupid pewpew stick will ever have.
About the War Horn: You will get faceplanted… I can imagine Mace+warhorn work someway, but something like sword/warhorn won’t get you anywhere(well, it in fact will get you anywhere quite fast, but you won’t have anything you can do there, so you might aswell not be there at all)
Basically, secondary weapons to rifle:
Longbow: If you run with the zerg, you can do it.
X+Shield: Gives you a reliable block and bash to fall back on.
Mace+X, X+Mace: More offensive counterpart to X+Shield.
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.
I run a rifle roamer. It’s ok. I tried everything else I could think of for roaming and in the end it’s the only thing that was working for me. I can kill some people at least that don’t realize what a rifle can do (never a guardian though lol). I do use mace/warhorn. Again just ok but warhorn is a must for roaming and mace is good for camp guards so it’s a decent offensive/defensive combo. My gear is a combination of ruby orbs with power and condition (45%crit, 1100 condition unbuffed).
I swap traits and skills around a little but current build is:

Notice a decent number of escape skills. I am trying the Owl instead of Endure Pain right now but it kind of sucks.
Sigil of Earth on the rifle.
