Hello Hello,

I’ve been using the rifle since I’ve made my main warrior three years ago but I’ve been struggling on this new trait lines as to which are best for a rifle warrior. I am fully aware that the longbow is a far better option in terms of range warrior but my love for muskets in fantasy wins over reason.
Do you guys got any suggestions? I run Discipline, Arms, Tactics at the moment. I’ve been thinking of switching out arms or tactics with strength but I have consistent damage with these traits in hand though. Oh and my other weapons are sword/warhorn for that run and gun type.

Almost have to run discipline for the rifle trait. Also gives u heighten focus for quickness killshot or burst mastery for higher damage kill shot.

This is what I run in WvW at the moment. Sword/Shield for defense and Rifle for offensive. Sadly, I don’t have any swiftness, but I may change my rune for that.

LB is not a better option than Rifle, atleast not, if you play both weapons with power builds. Condi builds and Traited LB have much better AA than Rifle and that is it, while Rifle can “shine” as a single target power weapon.

I would make the arrangements that lb is still beer than rifle in 1v1 even with a power build. The utility of lb is so good. Auto attack has double crit proc chance, immob , blind , fire field and blast finisher. In a group fight where u can get lost in the crowd then maybe a killshot build is a bit better but overall I still say lb is the better weapon

LB is better even with power build, Immo is crucial for landing high damage attacks, 3 is AoE spike damage, F1 has good direct damage and can proc sigils for aoe damage.
blind is good for self defense, 2 is good damage close range, double hit auto has more chance of procing air fire.
you can also cover your teamate by placing aoes on them so people like thief will have more risk for chasing down your teamate.

sure, rifle does more damage on individual, but this is a team game, unless you talk about dueling, then rifle is just a mini longbow ranger…

If you like rifle I assume you like damage. Go Mara/zerker army; strength, defense, discipline. Gs/rifle.

Just a small tip: you can cancel killshot animation to bait dodges by stowing your rifle. It’s tremendously good for 1v1 situations.

I run Ultimate Killshot War in PvP. Zerk ammy, rifle sword/warhorn. Strength, arms, discipline. All sigs + berserker stance. Role is roaming DPS.

I feel defense is a waste if you can handle engagements and use your tools appropriately. Whenever coming up against a war running a similar build but with defense, I can easily beat them despite the defensive lines effects coming into play. I’m a mesmer main since release so the gameplay is suited to me I feel. I’ve only ever played U-Kshot War on my war :p
