Which works better for a warriors ranged weapon? Whoopps meant Longbow.

Depends on purpose. LB is for AoE, Rifle is for single target. You should bring both realistically.

If i have to choose only 1, LB is probably a bit more useful if your doing dungeons, and situationally useful in WvW (better at defense/offense on towers, but way worse in open field vs rifle) and neither is good for sPvP

Bow isn’t good for sPvP? I have been using it with some success, but I have been joining games with few players for 1v1’s so maybe that’s why, I find it extremely useful paired with my GS and 5 second weapon swap(When it works -.-).

The immobilise is useful for getting HB’s off now and again, but usually I just use it for fleeing targets or for a quick 4-5k blast from the number 3 ability I think it is before swapping back to my GS.

Rifle is amazing for SPVP, trait for penetrating rounds, and destroy people. Start kill shot hen when the enemy realizes wha you are doing pop fear me and watch them Eat 7-10k lol switch to axe and shield and clean up what’s left.

It depends on what you are planning on using it for. General leveling and PVE maybe the longbow for Aoe unless you have the rifle bullets penetrate trait. For WvW and dungeons rifle all the way. The damage is just too good plus 1500 range on kill shot allows you to hit players that are engaged in other fights and not payig attention regularly.

My preference personally is rifle having great success with it in pvp, it’s a good feeling getting someone to half health before hey even get within eviscerate range. Great for making enemies panic.

Because this isn’t WoW with its laughably simplistic and pigeon-holing class design.
Are you seriously suggesting that warriors would avoid using ranged weapons just because they’re capable fighters? No, they wouldn’t. Look at the military. Rifles and Longbows make perfect sense for warriors.

Simple-minded as hell, I’m not even going to tell you what use rifle has.

Riffle have a line aoe, this mean anything in your line of fire will get hit, where bow use circle type of oae. Your choice really. I personally use rifle because if i’m not mistaken bow is more of a condition type of weapon, rifle is more a power based weapon.

if you use a rifle then use the “sniper” spec and just do long range dps (penetrating shots ftw)

shortbow if u plan on doing alot of aoe dmg to ppl on walls in wvw (the burn does alot of dmg)

your build and weapon are what makes ur class. warriors can be either dedicated ranged or dedicated melee or use a mix of both.

there is no straight line for warriors in terms of weapon playstyles.

just like thiefs can melee then use a short bow to barrage the area.

i enjoy rifle spec as i like sniper classes. and i dont play ranger as i hate bows plus rangers suck

Long Bow is Amazing for AoE kiting and Rifal amazing for Single Target kiting.

The Bow allows you to Blind enemy, making them miss you.
Immobolize enemy, giving you chance to keep your distance and readying ur big AoE attks.
Does Big AoE Fire type attks. Just excellent!

The Rifal has an Amazing Knowckback Skill with Rifal Butt. Pushes enemy away from you.
You Can Cripple enemy from the distance, making it hard for enemy to get to you.
You can Weaken Enemy’s defense and do Volly shots to deal massive damage to the single target, and you can Swap between Rifal and Bow.

Purely amazing weapon choices for swaping if the situation Calls for it.
Sometimes Ranged is best at certain situations, and sometimes Meele is best at others.

I recomend mastering all weapons.

I really love rifle and the knock back (which can hit multiple targets).

I use penetrating shots so all those rifle skills hit every thing in a line. For me half the fun is lining up all the targets.

I have not done WvW yet but I imagine those big numbers are fun to watch when you use F1.

The Longbow has its niche uses, but frankly the Rifle is better. I submitted a bug on an issue I believe is currently affecting ranged weapons, most prominently Longbows and Pistols, where the autocast speed on the #1 skill is slower than intended. You’ll notice across professions that #1 skills on Longbows and Pistols are weaker than they should be, and you can even calculate out the recast relative to the activation speed. It’s a very small difference for rifles but very pronounced for Pistols and Longbows. I do not believe this is intended.
