Guild Wars 2

Hi.
I was torn between rifle warrior and ranger since beginning, and now, after no fixes to ranger LB, I’m even more eager to try warrior.
The problem is, ppl tell me rifle warrior isn’t any good :/ I’m playing WvW + dungs (fotm included), and I’d aim for build and gear that’d work in both. Should I even bother? From what I remember from trying rifle in sPvP, I felt I had no way to avoid dmg as I did on my ranger, and passive hp/armor of warr wasn’t enough.
Can you guys give my some advices and tell if it’s even worth trying?

I think you’d grow tired of using the rifle after a time. It’s a one trick pony (button #3), and ranged – wars are built to go melee :P
That said, you’re a hard kill for any mob if you spec for some armor/health and run around ranged…

Rifle is very viable. Just make sure your build includes Crack Shot for piercing AOE goodness.

Have both and really the ranger just doesn t compare, on both you shouldnt think of just one weapon think rifle/xxxx long bow/ (on my ranger) sword dagger.

Ok you dont have a pet to hold things off but then pets are prety much broken any way.

I usually start with rifle 5 them when they get close then swap as they run in the second time works and i can kill things on the warrior i couldnt on the ranger.

Just dont get wrapped up in one weapon warriors can use the whole golf bag carry them and use what works

Pure ranged?

For WvWvW the run and gun build is nice, but if you run ikittenerg and have good positioning, then a pure berserker crit build with Rifle (for sniping) and Longbow (for AoE and defending points) is actually very, very useful!
You’ll never be on of those ridiculously OP classes that can stomp multiple people at once, but you will do pretty good.

For PvE, pure ranged is viable as well if you are intent on going for it.
Get full Berserker armor and trinkets with Ruby Orbs / Exquisite Ruby.
Switch between Rifle and Longbow. I would highly recommend that you use bursts for Longbow over Rifle as it is simply better for PvE.

Rifle is viable for PvE and WvW if specced/geared right and you have buds to cover you (aka let you hide behind them).

But yeah in sPvP don’t bother, you are the definition of easy kill lol
