Roaming Meta build doubt
@ OP,
I’ve seen folks that were very effective with this build (or similar) but to be honest, I’ve never liked it all that much. The axe is just too predictable and anyone who really knows what there are doing can avoid it. Vaanas used to play a similar build in WvW and she did an amazing job with it though.
When Warrior comes to pvp, it sucks. for whatever reason maybe anet nerfs warriors in pvp but shoutbow is a build that can somewhat stand a chance.
However gs/axes in wvw is decent, so that’s where that meta comes from. If you checkout YouTube for that build you’ll find enough videos to back up the build.
Also the build doesn’t win you the battles. You have to be very aggressive and/or kite often against different opponents to win. so it takes a bit of knowledge of other classes to counter then. dodging is crucial for this build as it almost has no defense

There is a reason why it’s tagged for WvW and not PvP. In WvW, higher stats will allow you to overwhelm people with your damage and anti-condi food makes up for the lack of longbow (and in general the lower skill level of your opponents, as roaming is sort of like hotjoin).
WvW builds in general suck at sPvP very very hard.
The gear stats on the other hand are ideal for doing dungeons too, so if you ever want to play some PvE then that gear is mandatory to have anyways.

Thats exactly what i tought! Theres should be a nerf in stats when warrior comes to pvp! cuz i see alot of WvW videos, and players looks to have alot of damage and resistance, but in PVP i just fell squishy and low damage!
Ill give a try on it then! I just wanted to check it in SPVP before waste gold on gears! thx all for answers
This build works in wvw because it consists in run away with GS when you see that you are losing. In spvp if you do that you lose the point. In wvw it is ok.
Axe+sh/gs can be very good against people not running 1v1 builds or against bad players. If you happen to find something like a d/d ele, a sw/dg thief, a perplexity engi your only option is to run away. The good thing is that most builds that almost no one can chase a warrior running away with GS.

Hey!
But i tested it in SPVP, i was playing Hot Joins, so i was looking for fights, even out point. I just look for any 1v1. and i noticed its just too weak thats why i think theres should be a nerf in SPVP
I would take the 1st build (Main) option – not the 2nd (Most Aggressive) from the page you linked, but definitely take Burst Mastery on Disc line (not Heightened Focus). Sharpened Axes is mainly for the added adrenaline gain (the -CD isn’t great b/c Axe 2/3 aren’t great). So, if you aren’t having trouble building adrenaline, then take DotE. Also, for WvW, I’d recommend the -CD on Signet over Warrior Sprint. Between SoR, Balanced Stance, and swapping in WH, you have 100% Swiftness up-time anyway. And after all that, realize that Warriors are at a disadvantage in most 1v1’s against most classes. Running away – unfortunately – is sometimes your best option.
i used to play this with my guild raiding in Gank squad.
had so much fun with it back then.

In spvp you don’t have acess to the -40% condi food.
In wvw:
-60% all condis
-93% movement condis
In spvp:
-20% all condis
-53% movement condis
On a build that has no condi clear other than cleansing Ire the change is huge. Also in spvp zerker is not the pve/wvw zerker. Spvp zerker is power-prec-ferocity-vitality. Vitatility for a warrior is not very good because of natural high base hp.
If you want to push the damage aspect up, you could run something more risky like this (similar gear for WvW, I just didn’t feel like adding all the extra stat items). That being said, you basically become a build that will quickly kill some builds while being easily rekt by others. The Strength minor can also be Restorative Strength. I can’t claim that Defiant Stance in good, but without any points in Defense you’re going to lack condi cleanse but Defiant Stance can help if and only if you use it at the perfect time. If Mending was a Physical Skill it might be possible to bring Physical Training and Resto Str and run something like this.
Basically, you have to perfectly use your countermeasures to be effective.
Old Man Burr (War), Bad Hat Ben (Engi), Manly Manny Manson (Guard)
As others have said already, you can’t line up WvW builds in Spvp because different sets have different stat caps. You can’t have the same exact stats from all your pieces of gear, runes, food, etc identically. Only way to test a WvW build efficiently is to make it
