Rush swap with Burst skill
I’m used to opinions on forums, especially balance opinions, being at a “bellow subhuman” level, so I’m impressed when I actually see one that makes sense even if its off the mark… Surprised.
That said, I’m saying it’s actually a suggestion that makes some logical sense, not necessarily that I agree.
Why? Because I’m not sure that would be a nerf to the mobility. On the contrary. With burst mastery you can have a burst every 7 and a half seconds… Rush has a 20 second cooldown… I understand what you were trying to do, make rush more restricted/situational without simply upping cooldown (which isn’t necessarily a good idea), but I think it backfired. I don’t think almost 3 times more Rushes would be a nerf.
The only time it would be a nerf would be exactly the only time it shouldn’t be nerfed and it’s perfectly fine: outside of combat.
leave it to me to be 1/2 asleep and not catch that detail, good call -.-
im sure there could be a variation that would make it work though…considering it can be altered using the 3 bar adrenaline system to change its distance, damage, knockback etc.
It would more or less have the same cooldown as Savage Leap, and to validate it as a burst skill, could be only 1200 range when using at full adrenaline.
Rush is fine. GS Burst skill needs a complete rework but Rush doesn’t need to be nerfed. If anything it needs to be FIXED so that it hits its target more often than 1/5 situations.
The whole idea that warrior mobility is insane and OP came after two things :
1) Warriors becoming popular for a variety of OTHER reasons – and people just being mad at this.
2) Warriors being in the spot light for a while because of hambow builds and people being angry that warriors went from free kill to an actual threat over the course of some patches.
So now – every aspect of warriors is under attack by " nerf this or that" type threads. Because bads will be bads.

Warriors went from garbage in PvP last year to top tier because of changes to their traits. Warrior dps has actually been nerfed be it from indirect methods (quickness going to 50%, the leg specialist trait getting a cooldown), nerfed by direct methods on damage of their weapon skills.
What they lost in damage was the ability to actually take some abuse and clear conditions on them while not losing a bunch of power in the process (the 25 trait minor in defense), which you’re going to be speccing 20 into the tree for Cleansing Ire and more than likely Dogged March and gaining the 15 minor Adrenal Health (gain hp/s based on adrenaline level).
If you play PvP be it sPvP (lets just ignore the public lobbies because every bad and mad is in them), tPvP, or hell even WvW Cleansing Ire is probably the most taken trait (not counting minors) out of every trait since it came out.
People look at warriors and say Healing Signet is a problem? It actually heals less if you’re poisoned than Adrenaline Surge at full adrenaline over a minute (2 uses of surge)

And let’s not forget the huge nerf we took when Berserker’s Power and Heightened Focus were both made Grandmaster Traits. People keep forgetting that warriors have been under a constant duress of nerfs. And still the bads ask for more.
The class is and ALWAYS will be popular. Why?
1.Because it LOOKS good – heavy armor is probably the best looking armor in the game – a game that focuses on looks. GS is probably the most used PVE weapon – and it happens to be the warrior’s strongest.
2.Because it feels great – it is easy and simple to pick up and play. No gimmick mechanics, no clones to learn how to pop, no attunements to understand.
As a warrior you do two things : Hit stuff ; hit some more.
3.Because it is useful – it brings unique utility to parties in the forms of banners – so will always be useful in a party ( even though you really only need 1 warrior).
That’s why warriors are popular. Because of all these things ON TOP of their pretty good performance in PVP right now.
In both PVP and PVE they’re not THE best but they do things well and will give you a good choice to play even with a little time and not a lot of experience.
They will always be popular no matter what the bads scream and what nerfs they demand.

But it also isn’t currently reliant on adrenaline for the distance traveled. Level 1 adrenaline could be somewhere in the 500 range. Level 2 800 range. Then level 3 could be 1200 range.
Almost every other class has range on the majority of their weapons so I see no problem with that.
But I would say just trash Arcing Slice. It is a horrible skill no matter how you look at it. Replace it with something else that has a hard control or soft control on it. Much like the Ranger greatsword has a daze/stun on it. Give the Warrior something he can use to set up his 100 blades.

You should try playing thief… (Not complaining, just saying it’s worse there than here)
