I cannot say for sure. I just have the days it took. To estimate, I usually play like 4 hours on average. Given that initial ques were shorter, we can say I average about 10 games a day. So in the 16 days, maybe ~160 games. This is probably a lower bound. For example, If you won 50 in a row, that generated 2+48*2 pips=98 pips.
Amber=15 pips
Emerald=20 pips
Sapphire=25 pips
Ruby= 30 pips
Diamond= 35 pips
Total=125 pips needed.
I pretty much went on a win streak to sapphire so that is 19 wins in a row.
Biggest time was in diamond. Idk feel like im rambling trying to make an approximation lol. I will stick with the lower bound.
I had several streaky days of gaining like 10-15 pips, and then some other days of losing and regaining the same pips.

More games than I would have liked to play to reach it.
But I am a better player for it.

Saturday evening: Legendary tier 1 completed. Here is the match I was able to stream on warrior. I was only able to get 2 ques in like 45 minutes, so I stopped streaming.

IMO if you use skull grinder, you want to have some condition damage on your amulet.
But berserker definitely has some condition damage potential

You are better off with discipline instead of strength because of 20% decrease in cd.

Hammer is not a main weapon, so 20% cd is not important thing. Strenght give much more 10+10+20 = 40% dmg and 20% CD for GS. Hammer need only to initiate the fight with combo Sundering Leap + Eartshaker→ switch to GS→ Head Butt+ Outrage→Berserk + Hundred Blades

Oh yeah, I forgot about the GS.

For the past 4 day being Jung ing between t3 and t2 ruby, just exhausted. 3 necro teams are way too strng to beat, three condi bombs is just way too op!!!

My suggestion if you are able is to isolate a necro in your match. As long as it is not a minion mancer, if you can get 1 necro at far for example, it is a very winnable matchup.

We could do some practice runs if you like.

Plus remember necros are very slow to rotate. If you can pull one off the fight and run back to the fight, you can buy your team valuable time.

Those last 2 tiers are the worst two tiers. You can potentially fight legendaries and get so very comp dependent matchups. Good luck.

Back to tier 2 once again, with one pip. And how broken are engi really?? Like why are they able to have 100% stability upkeep without using a single utility. The gyro, shield 4 and their traits…. just sad.

Hammer scrapper is probably the second worse matchup for the power warrior.

I know I haven’t been streaming, but I wanted to update this thread.
I changed my amulet back to berzerker amulet. I found out that the added damage was worth it over the 5k hp. My defense is the offensive pressure.

Also, this build does surprisingly well against condi mesmer. Who knew lol

I am testing out Vamp runes again.

I am also trying to “climb up” as power warrior(100% soloq, warr). I am using a build very similar to yours, only running balanced stance instead of frenzy.
Right now, I’m stuck at T4 Ruby, my goal is at least diamond. So far, I feel as if I was playing worse version of scrapper or rev.
Most of the problems come from teams running heal ele+druid combo, which is also one of the causes of my huge losing streak today.

Hopefully, tomorrow it will be better.

This is the misconception I had at first. I thought the crit chance would make up for the power loss. I was wrong. I use the Foefire lord as an example. With berzerker amulet, I can kill him within the rampage timer. With marauder, this does not always happen.
Berzerker amulet provides more crit damage and regular damage.
My job is to kill stuff, not survive in a fight. If it is dead, I do not need the extra hp. Words just cannot describe the difference properly.

I was a big advocate for marauders amulet. Until I went back to this. Now I do not know why I ever left.

Quickness is just so good to pass up for me. You still have Last stand trait so you get stab every 40 seconds.

ok Tier 6 Ruby, just like last season this is where i am stopping. Got into a messy loss streak, And i undertsand the current sytem doesnt award grinding ) as the more you play, if you have a kittenty winrate, the more you’ll lose) so ill take a break and focus on league {lol} … See ya, ill be back if anything interesting pop up . Just hit Diamond on my F2P non-HoT GS/LB War, so far, so ez. (the one Guardian match was for daily, and that ONE defeat, was within 9 points from bad rotations)

Berserker is the kitten yo, I run hammer/GS with merciless hammer with int/force on hammer and I somehow managed to 3 shot a ranger the other day. I hit a 4k staggering blow, 8k (!!!) backbreaker and a 6k fierce blow. I think he was also running a zerker ammy because his Rapid Fires hit really hard but he blew up the moment you sneezed at him.

Btw, I tried this for a team fighter build and it doesn’t seem too bad. If you have a team with good AoE pressure (It works especially well with a DH who runs traps) you can synergize quite well with your teammates’s AoEs. I’ve found the barbarian variant to work even better against teams with many condi necros, they don’t have much to remove the immobs so you can lock them down in ally AoEs pretty hard, and you have quite a bit of HP so you can eat condis longer.

But yeah, works quite well with DH/necro I’ve found. The immob spam every 2.5sec despite not seeming very strong is annoying as hell, especially for the low mobility classes who don’t have many on demand root breaks.

Kinda meh in 1v1 compared to full yolo hammer/gs tho. You lack the pressure to kill them fast enough, but similarly you’re quite sturdy so you can stall for a while. It often boils down to who gets +1 first, so its definitely not a build I’d assault an enemy point with alone.

How do people run hammer in such a stability dominated meta. Rev, scrapper, and necro have on demand stab.

I thought the same thing until I played some matches with hammer. Most of that stab you can play around with some patience/effort, and when you do land a stun you can get some big damage juggles.

Not saying it’s easy, especially when you add in evasion/block/blind spam… but it can work. Don’t forget that hammer auto damage is actually pretty high too.

Maybe I will go hammer sword shield. Who knows, could be the secret.

Hammer is ok if you play it very attentively and actively bait dodges with backbreaker and fierce blow…I mean stow cancelling these 2 skills is something I consider keystone to playing Hammer/GS. For Fierce blow you dont reaaaaally have to cancel it because its CD is ridiculously short with merciless hammer. Which btw I strongly advise taking, I currently don’t treat hammer as just a means of CC to setup GS burst, I treat it also as a legitimate damage dealing weapon, heck hammer autos go for 3k per crit on light targets and backbreaker and fierce blow can also hit stupid hard.

Still, I mainly play this , it’s your standard hammer/gs but without rampage (I’m the biggest rampage hater ever and often die when I could use it to snowball something, don’t be like me, run rampage). I also take sigil of agility on GS, I can pretty much staggering blow->arcing slice->whirl before the guy can get back up from the knockback :O

Idk about sword/shield hammer though, does it work? Never personally tried it, it would give a lot more sustain but lose out on quite a bit of damage too no?

I want sword for mobility, shield block, and final thrust.
yeah def less damage than axe, but hammer is the priority weapon here. I need to test this.

So I picked up the f2p version a little over a month ago, and I’ve since then bought HoT. I rolled warrior and fell in love with the class. I didn’t pvp until I reached 80, and I head read a lot by then(forums, guides, etc.). After watching some streams in my slow time at work, I decided to give it a shot. I’ve been playing gunflame the entire time, and I just shrug off the cheese comments. Here’s where I stand after playing the past 2 weeks. Pleased with my progress so far I’m halfway through ruby atm.

I use this, atm. Mostly because I really like berserker and I don’t want to play gunflame. It performs better than I expected, damage is nice and survivability is imo better than vanilla warr. And I just love headbutt.

I still oscillate between ruby T2 and T5 with my massive win/lose streaks…

Thanks for the build, and also streaming! I was in a bit of a rut with my warrrior, and axe/shield + GS really is fun. I’m only just moving through emerald league but much more fun/successfull than with the condi/berserker build I had before.

I want to pick up streaming again. I have just been inconsistent with playing because work has picked up lately.
That and some team trial stuff that has me on necro. But I have had some good encounters lately, and I think they are worth sharing.

Still do not beat rev though.

Finally broke through Ruby! It took me just under 100 ranked games to get Diamond, but being my first season of gw2 pvp I’m pretty pleased
