Reasons? With defy pain procing at 50% I don’t need to have an endure pain I can proc to shield me from getting too far under 50% hp. With adrenal health I can recover from 50% hp alot easier. With the extra dodge from sigil of energy I am not stuck sitting around waiting for my next move to come off cd against enemies with ALOT of moves and sustained/highdmg fighting styles (thieves/mesmers)…..I do less damage though that is a fact. I mean basically my first utility slot is a spare one given I don’t need endure pain anymore. You could really fit anything in there should you chooose….something physical like bola or signet of stamina or signet of fury.for their passives. I’m partial to quickness with warrior gs though since it makes your attacks feel more fluid and natural (feel more control). I had a really fun time with this build kiting in and out of zerg fights…moving around and bursting down enemies. It was very “on the move”. Get in and do damage and retreat using shield stance and your 2-3 dodges when things start getting hot. In terms of dueling it worked out fine as well without the endure pain. I mean if there was another passive damage buffer (a second signet of might) I would just take that over frenzy. In terms of the food choice I really like the +200 power on kill for wvsw. When I go into fights I have that extra 200 power already there…I don’t need to hit people and build might stacks and it frees up potential might stacks I can use as opposed to that golden dumpling or whatever that gives might on crit. The lack of boon duration is a bit of a loss with the food choice but it feels very natural this way and I really like it so far. The cleave against pve is another sticking point that is very helpful…dont want to be worrying about guards when fighting players, plus it makes taking objectives faster. I mean most of the time I’m trying to end things with an enemy quickly and burst them so they don’t heal everything….extra boon duration only seeks to lengthen the amount of time and my ability to do the damage needed.
With the gear, before the patch I had a hard time without the back piece being cavalier (making 2 pieces that weren’t full zerk). Since the patch though I’ve been doing fine with azerk backpiece and just 1 piece (captain’s earring) that isn’t full zerk. I would like to swap out one of the sigils but leeching even now is still insanely useful and the gs sigils can’t be changed..maybe my night gs could swap the 250 power for 10% damage increase I’m assuming 10% dmg>250 power? Probably too much hassle to swap it like that though.

I’ve been running a variation on the meta condi build swapping S/T for Longbow, and i can easily 1v1 any class and win, even a decent necro with having so much condi clear they can’t do anything to you, give it a shot, it still has super high burst even without sword torch, people under estimate LB. :-p
It allows you to survive more direct pathways that you wouldn’t otherwise survive, you can use cliffs to shake, or even turn the tables, on enemies who’re chasing you. You can use it to slow down sieges simply by jumping off of a wall onto attackers, and then doing whatever makes sense from there (attacking, disabling, supply trapping, or just running back inside to do it again). My personal favourite is leaping off of a cliff onto an unsuspecting enemy, only to burst him to downed before he can even get up. In fact, it’s not a bad way to start a 1vx if the cliff isn’t too high.
While I genuinely like the trait itself, it also has no real competition in that slot.

Of course a couple of matches are not enough to make a decision, but maybe you’ll like it or find something worth improving!
I’m still not sure about the Rune (Sunless), and I’m trying out different amulets (for example increasing healing power maybe?)
I’d like to use the Berserker Skill-line, because of Headbutt triggereing the Sunless Rune theoretically every 15 seconds, but I don’t know if that’s worth giving up the Strength line for..(Also Bow+Hammer F1 Skills while in berserk mode don’t feel as good as the regular ones..)
I’ve just reinstalled the game, wanted to try some things out. I went with a GS/Bow, demolisher/Strength, STR/DEF/DIS build. It’s an old setup to maximize the value of bursts (including the new Adrenal Health), with decent might building. Not a competitive build, just some brawling stuff… initial testing worked nicely, good damage and surprisingly good sustain. It’s fun.
idk, there are so many build out there, since the patch was released, i have faced a condi, power, hammer , hambow warrior and all performed well; Especially the hambow , which caught me off guard, since i have never faced one. Lol, and also marvin was on his warrior, talking about jumping on the bangwagon.
I have been playing with STR/DEF/BER using GS/Bow. I’m using Rune of Speed and Mender amulet. I’m mixing the skills, but so far zerker stance/balanced stance/signet of fury works best for me. It’s surprisingly fun, finally I don’t die every 3 secs. The heal tics are pretty nice as well and my damage is consistently in the 4-500kish area. To me, this is a great imporvement from previous seasons suckness.
I’d run Rune of the Pack and Destroyer amulet (I think it’s that one) over Scholar and Berserker, but you get the idea. Not a super strong build, but fun to play. You can also switch the Axe for a Mace and bring some control to your team, as well.
Was testing Longbow Sword/Torch with rousing resilience and as mentioned above looks like it will be the meta.
However i also tested GS Mace/Shield, with demolisher Amulet and boy does that bring memories back to the old days of skull crack. Very strong, I love the power playstyle but i feel condi longbow/Sw/Torch will be more effective over all.

I’ve been playing this exact build and had a ton of fun. I love runes of the Sunless against mesmers, revs and other warriors, but I’ve now swapped it for Nightmare runes, and use Rampage instead of signet of rage. It still hits hard even with Mercenary’s Amulet, and if you time the rampage skills right you can get some nice interrupts, meaning weakness, bleeds and confusion stacks.
If you want to play berzerker, you have to give up Strength. That’s another playstyle, and it’s probably stronger. See the LB zerker builds in this thread.
