Okay so for the last couple of days I’ve spent trying out different traits/weapon since all the chit-chat on forums… mostly you see people boasting about dmg in WvW ‘sigh’ Anet themselves said that WvW is a ‘’massive unbalanced battle between worlds’’ at Pax Prime if any of you remember?

It can be very hard to get the hang when changing to a new spec so it… it takes alot of time to get used to it, don’t give into fear or frustration.
While you may be used to totally dominate a certain class/trait the other traits might get snowballed by those who you previously dominated and better yet, dominate those who you got previously dominated by… crazy stuffed happened like warrior dominating mesmers/guardians with stacking rifle dots. When changing weapons be sure to have suitable utility skills that match your weapon skills.

PvP is all about timing your skills right – not doing so = punishes in you being shish kebab

They’re all very unique and to make it simple but keep in mind that not all weaps/traits fits YOUR play style and that’s what matters, what fits you and how you feel ‘’comfy’’ with it.

Hammer or GS – Mace or Axe/Shield = Great CCs, great survivability’s, sure you may use bull charge for close-up or earthshaker. Not bursty and low dmg vs. axes/GS users. Not good 1vs1 but more suitable for team fights. Going with axe/shield if you lack dmg is approved, Shield bash them and use eviscerate, oh and the crippling throw. Utility skills I used are: Endure Pain, Bull’s Charge, Fear Me! For Hammer – mace & shield. GS – Mace/Shield: Endure Pain, Frenzy, Bolas: While using Frenzy with bolas and literally making my salmon ready for dinner, I didn’t forgot that Frenzy makes you vurnable, So – Bolas, Frenzy and if the enemy isn’t just standing there becoming a salmon, I don’t use endure pain but if they start to retaliate and hp drops down, no question there, pop Endure Pain.

Axes, Swords or Maces – Mace, Axe or Sword/Shield = Great Dmg, bursty, enemy ccing you? switch to shield to block, use counterblow and(blocks one attack and hits enemy) Pommel bash (interupts for 1sec)with mace, safe to say: Got the dmg you need & survivability.
Utility skills I used here are Endure pain, Bull’s Charge(with axes since I lack a charge), On My Mark!(Frenzy works aswell with both, stacking dots have never been better!)

Swords or Axes /Rifle or GS = This one I call the DoTster, why? Swords/rifle auto atks stacks dots GREAT vs stealthers you can feel the difference when changing from axes/mace shield since while they’re in stealth you got some nasty bleeds on them ?, Great Mobility your biggest arch enemy here is anything that blinds you or simply people who can dodge your rifle shot BUT if it hits easly around 7k dmg. Light armor users = easy targets, if you feel like: Urgh I lack burst, switch to axes or if you know you’re going to face people who can dodge… ditch the rifle.
Utility skills I used here: Bolas, Endure Pain, Frenzy. Why bolas? To keep melees at range, lock your enemy to ensure your rifle shot/melee attacks with frenzy, Frenzy I used to stack dots with rifle then switch to swords to stack dots.

Sword, Axe, Mace & war horn / GS, Rifle, Longbow and Hammer for this combo I personally loved using Mace & War horn / Longbow, Why? The mace lets me defend myself and the interrupt I told earlier on about is awesome when enemy is say using frenzy/hundred blades, the buffing from the horn is also loveable by your team-mates. The Longbow is there for locking ‘’that guy that noticed you’re a free target and chasing you like hell’’ oh and also AoE Blind.
Utility skills I used here: On My Mark, Shake it off, For Great Justice, Elite skill: The Banner for Insta ress downed mates and buffs. Went shouter, so shouts heals oh and, don’t go alone with this build.

GS, Rifle or Hammer / Rifle, Hammer or GS = not recommended since Rifle traits are shared with sword and some nice GS traits, and Hammer traits are in Tank traits, this play style didn’t fit me at all.
Utility skills with GS/Rifle: Bolas, Frenzy, endure pain.
With Rifle/Hammer: Bull’s Charge, Endure Pain, Bolas.
Hammer/ GS: Dolyak Signet, Frenzy, Bolas

Underwater: Harpoon gun / Spear:
Utility skills, Frenzy, Endure Pain, Dolyak Signet(eles got insane cc underwater) = Great dmg, great survivability.

You all probably noticed the Endure Pain is in almost all builds, Why?I like it, like I said before PvP is all about timing, If I’m forced to dodge twice or blocked earlier then I expect, with Endure Pain you can literally dance in GS wars who focus their dmg with Frenzy+bolas, another trick is to use dolyak signet oh and also you can dance with thieves, whichever you feel comfortable with and SUITS you is IMPORTANT, Note that Endure Pain says blocks all dmg(spells/dots works) but it doesn’t and it lasts for only 4secs and not 5, these are 2 buggs. Not all have the same playstyle. Me? I’m an Axes | Shield & Mace guy. Love the 1 click to become tanky/controller and 1 click to become a killing machine. Why GS aint for me? Tried focusing on just spinning or making salmon of them, the big negative with GS users is that they all focus around their Hundred Blades attack, Dodge it once or block and then they’re crap until their Cds reset, to dependable on one skill. Oh and besides Eviscerate (axes/axe) is ONE of the most dmg dealing spells we got and across all classes.

Anyway so this is MY breakdown of how I felt testing all crazy stuff (with all I could come up with) that a Warrior has to offer in sPvP with his arsenal.

Best thing to say is: Roll with what you like and feel comfortable with it. You need tips with traits? test and try for yourself in the Mists… it’s free to respec there:)

It’s from the Hall of Monuments. Only way to get this, as far as I know, is from playing Guild Wars.

Heritage armor is obtained from hall of monuments wich is followed by completing stuff in GW 1
