Shout Builds
Shoutbow is dead, damage is too great for the amount healing, plus shout healing got nerfed.
Right now I’m running Marauder amulet with GS/hammer, str, def, disc. I run SS/GS sometimes when I see many ranged players.

is it at least viable in PvE?
For now until Anet decides to balanced and fix bugs yeah. Everyone is running zerker now and the damage is really high it can kill you in 2-3 shots like engi grenade barrage or mesmer shatter.
Hi.
For sPvP, Shout is dead.
For WvW, however, there is a zealot trinket in WvW which allow you heal a lot like before while having good damage.
Try use my build or make your own build after reading my theory and build at
Have a nice day~

for Pve? not even close, I mean you can use it but for dungeons and fractals is not even close to viable.
This is what I run in sPvP; I’m sure it’s not optimal but I enjoy it.
GS (Battle, Energy)/Hammer (Air/Leeching)
Soldiers Ammulet
Regen Sig, FGJ, Dolyak sig, Shake it off, SoR
Def: 2-1-1
Tac: 1-2-3
Dis: 3-2-1
You can play around with Disipline line the most, merciless hammer is great damage increase that the build is missing, but I like having that 10 instant adren from Butst mastery to help with Adrenal Health.
The build lacks Might stacking that other Forceful GS builds would have, which is the biggest drawback. However I can last pretty long in a fight and wear people down or apply pressure. This is not a spiking build by any means, but I enjoy it.
Lol. People are so categoric in that post, that’s sad. Here the truth.
Shoutbow took a big punch in the nose with that patch. It used to be one of the best Warrior build, but not anymore. It’s still nice to play and viable and you will still be more resistant than most other build. But the nerfed healing is just not enough anymore to allow the shoutbow to do the same kind of just than it used to do. Cele Elementalist and Engineer do the same job but just better.
That doesn’t mean that Shoutbow is unplayable. If you are rather new to the pvp then it’s actually a great choice. It’s easy to play and people are good enough in low level PvP to actually take advantage of the new vulnerability of the Shoutbow. But at you continue to play you gonna have more and more difficulty to play shoutbow.
For PvE, yes it’s viable. But it’s not good and never was. You gonna need to sacrifice Phalanx strength, which is a super important trait and you also gonna need to sacrifice at least 1 banner or your signet.
For dungeon I would only use that if you play full zerker gear and have some difficulty to survive. Like some training wheels if you want. For open world, noboby care do what you want.
In WvW roaming Shout wasn’t a great before and it’s worst now. You can use it, but you may have some difficulty killing players depending on their skills.
WvW Zerg is where shoutbuild shine. I stopped playing WvW for some months now, but it used to be the best build for warrior and it seem it’s still are, but I can be wrong.

Yeah I use to run shout on my warrior before I quit playing mainly for WvW group/zerg fights and it was great I was able to run into zergs of enemies and come out alive but yeah the reason I opened this thread was to see if it was still viable since my warrior is completely geared towards that. I have a zerker set which Ill probably use for GS/Hammer build since that seems to be more viable now.Its pretty sad that this build isnt what it use to be anyways thanks for the feedback.
I dont think shouts were ever intended to fully sustain as much as it did. Lets be honest shout builds did way to much with no real sacrifce. If you spec for healing they will heal just fine.

Shout build must need to be supportive that is helpful in team fight while inflicting fair dmg to enemy .
Currently, anet just killed it. It cannot be supportive becuz healing amout has decreased while overall dmg output in this entire game is increased. Shout heal also needed to be buffed if dmgs are increased but got nerffed in fact. I think anet need to divide self-heal and ally-heal for a shout and buff ally-heal upto the healing amount that was before the patch.
Lastly, they should introduce Zealot Amulet (power, prec, heal) into sPvP to allow bunch of variation for shout build.
I still can’t believe that how anet killed the most used meta one while they don’t kill celementalist cele elgi meta. Maybe Anet just doesn’t like warrior or just love celementalist and cele engi cuz Abjured, Best USA PvP Team, uses those classes lot.

I don’t understand? Pre patch Shoutbuild was good in zerg, but Hammger/GS was better for roaming just like right now. In PvE it wasn’t good before and it’s still not good.
The only place where shoutbuild is in a different situation post patch is in sPvP, but you don’t have gear there so ??
I think Shoutbow will still be beautiful after things get shaved into line again. Honestly I think the biggest hits came from the vigor nerf and Boon Duration being peeled out of traitlines. So throw on a sigil of energy to the sword instead of battle, we get might on weapon swap now through traits so it’s all good. Also, the new Burning Arrows lets you put a lot more pressure on people who kite off point. And more, Burst Mastery allows for a lot more CS and Flurrying.
Edit: Not to forget Endure Pain and Brawler’s Recovery. Very important resistance for us now vrs spikes and condi overloading.

I have had some success running a shoutbunker build. Does not use bow at all though. Which means no range, which is kinda poopy.
But makes up for it in other ways.
