Silverwastes Warrior
Any gear should work but I would suggest using axe/mace instead of axe/axe. The extra vulnerability on mace is nice plus you get a really nice knockdown which can help against multiple mobs. OH Axe really doesnt do much dmg

I do wonders in there with sw/sw + LB full rabid. As long as you have good condition clearing, I burn down mobs there pretty easy as a solo player.

The only downside of running full condi is not all the mobs are husks and you might not tick enough dps to get tags on mobs that aren’t husks.
I don’t understand why you “need specific viable” builds for pve. just run full zerker and dmg traits and beat things up. GS and axe/xx

Some people labor under the delusion that Silverwastes mobs are so challenging that they need to use some special build for it. They don’t understand that they should use the same 65003 GS+* build they always run, but learn to play it better.
I’ve noticed quite often people are hoping that a quick fix (changing gear, changing traits) will be all they need to beat something that was impossible or super difficult for them before. Unfortunately, the answer is almost always “learn to play better” and the build is much less important. That goes for PvE or PvP.

Has not been a problem for me. Using the burst skills at appropriate timing during non-husk fights seems to work fine for me. I’m not saying its for everyone, or that its entirely meta. I’m only positing that I have a decent amount of success with it. Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve ever had a problem tagging mobs at all even with other classes/builds. I’m not sure that just because its condi means that applies. However, I’ve never taken a condi necro in there, so I can’t speak for them if they have a plight for condi’s there.
The only condi setup I try not to take in there is my thief. I don’t do very well there with him. My full sinister ranger axe/axe + shortbow Trapper however, does way better than my warrior.

I have tried the standard GS+Axe/something in the SW for some time and I was not entirely satisfied with it. Don’t get me wrong, it gets the job done, but I feel there is something missing in it.
During defenses, I usually spend most of my time killing stone throwing husks or other types of husks that people neglect because they are away from the walls. I have swapped the axe/mace for a pair of swords in the meta build but still this is not satisfying.
The meta warrior build is completely focussed on the GS side (because it’s a really effective tool to kill regular monsters). However, once you step out of GS, the build loses a larche chunk of its potential, namely might generation. It is weird to spend some time generating might with the GS (but deal miserable damage) to then swap to swords and try to apply harder hitting bleeds.
How about tweaking the old pure axe build ? Something like 4/6/0/0/4 with Axe/mace +S/S to take advantage of dual wielding and dual wield agility for both weapon sets ? (keeping zerker armour but swapping runes for runes of the trooper w/ shouts on the utility bar for condi removal).
I normally run what ever build I have on, weather its wvw melee train build or a yolo focus warrior build (6/2/0/0/6). You are not the only player there and sw is normally full of people so I can not see how 1 build such as rabid will make all that of a difference. Even if it did, you cant match 2 -3 Condi people vs 20+ dps players
I can understand an organized Condi party for the evolved jungle wurm as its you’re agasint the time but not like that in sw.

The best of both worlds build for SW is the standard 65003 GS but with Sword/Horn on swap. In open world, mobility is king. You can camp GS for most mobs, swap to the sword for the Husks and have superior mobility out of combat.
65003 GS/LB with berserker armor and sinister accessories works pretty good for me, better than pure melee/pure power build and still mobile.
