So, about shout build...
Anything but full berserker with max DPS traits and weapons is considered bad. Now that obviously makes you very squishy. However in Pve you can time blocks, dodges, and blinds in order to never get hit anyway. Most bosses have one shot mechanics, so regardless if you have 2k toughness or 0 toughness, that ones hot ability will still take you down. Same thing with healing, it won’t save you from that one shot attack. Better to maximize DPS in order to take the boss down faster to minimize the chance youll make a mistake in your dodges and blinds. This is true for all classes, and all types of PVE, be it dungeons or open world.

I’d better clarify why I put on this post. I’m not here to complain about current pve meta, I’m here to understand what’s wrong with this build, if it is really bad and if so I want to find out if and how I can improve it.
I thought about going zerker, but I’m afraid I won’t be able to survive. I’m not 100% accurate with dodges and even if I would there are things I can’t avoid, like aoe damage, bouncing projectiles, damage I didn’t see coming… Also I’m worried that full zerker requires cooperation from your party, that isn’t always easy to find.
Plus, I like to be the guy that inspires (buffs) the team. Am I really hindering it?

Its bad because its not berserker. Traits should be 30/25/0/0/15. That being said, it doesn’t really matter since anything works in Pve. Run whatever you need to survive, but keep adding more zerker pieces, until you can survive just fine in full zerker. It
Tbh its not even a shout build. Your only using one shout. Change the runes to scholar or ruby orbs and the traits to 30/25/0/0/15 and gradually swap out the knights for zerkers until you feel comfortable in full zerker

I’ll try that traitline with my current equipment and see how things turn out. Can you please explain me what traits to pick?
I personally see a bigger problem in your armor, stacking a lot of toughness on a warrior isn’t that useful in dungeons, as you’ll be getting most of the aggro, it may actually make it harder for you to survive. I recently switched from pvt to full zerker gear and my damage increased about 2-3 times, while only sacrificing about 300 toughness. I didn’t notice much difference in my survivability.
Secondly you have a huge problem in your tactics line. Inspiring battle standard trait is pretty much worthless with your healing power and you’re wasting your second slot with a first slot trait, when you could take something like quick breathing, which is absolutely amazing, for people who like to use warhorn, as of now those 30 points in tactics are a complete waste and could easily be all put somewhere else. (preferably strength, arms or discipline), without loosing much if anything.
Don’t be afraid of not being able to survive, just try it out, I think you’ll like the results

Anything that will increase your damage
Shouts can buff the team without the heals that goes with it, the standard DPS build uses FGS and a Banner, which also buffs your party’s DPS. When survival isn’t a factor it comes down to how fast you can clear a content. The build isn’t “bad” but if you can play the game and feel it’s easy and comfortable, then maybe you should push the envelope and try something a bit harder.
Please do not listen to Carp. Contrary to your statements Carp you do not have to run full zerk gear to be good. As well as running anything but zerk doesn’t make the build “bad”. A good build is a combination of traits, armor, food, weapons, and utilities that minimizes DEATH. Shouts are perfectly viable, he seems more support oriented while still doing damage which is good, that fills a roll in a group and just cause he can’t do “mad dps” doesn’t make his build bad. I used to run full zerk and beat CoF bosses into bloody pulp but that got so….. Boring. “It takes skill not to die when your squishy as hell”. That’s true, but that isn’t the only way to play and certainly not the most difficult. It is also not the best way to play. For example I have 3K power, armor, and 80% crit chance with 100-108 (still messing with some stuff) crit damage. Basically I can fill whatever roll i feel like and I love my weapons currently. And it will save you alot of grinding, wasting of cash, and time if you just play how you want to instead of doing what eeeeeveryone else is doing. Cause if you don’t like the build, you will want to switch builds. And I have switched builds so many times I could’ve bought a legendary by now lol (I think the order was Berserkers, Knights, Clerics, Knights, Clerics, Rabid, and Assassins, to my current set up and keep in mind I had full exos for all sets with ascended jewelry for all those sets) Case and point. Do what you want, if you like your build use it. It seems nice and I love shouts personally. Have a nice day.
It’s ok, I guess I’ll try to go full zerker and see how things turn out. Besides, if I buy the armor after the release of ascended armor it will be very cheap.

I said run what you need to survive. But try to get better each day until you can run full zerker and survive
Just staying alive doesn’t make a good build, doing the most damage as possible and staying alive on the other hand…

Guardians may not agree.
Agreeing or not doesn’t really matter. Guardians can still do good DPS in serkers gear while contributing greatly to the groups survival via their utilities. WoR and Sanctuary can be swapped in and out on the fly between encounters.

Nope. There still is not much chep berserker stuff around, and that won’t change that fast.
If you need zerk stuff, just go to wvw and grab it there. easiest way to get it. Or, as you seem to be running lots of dungeons anyway, just get some nice dungeon set, maybe even with a rune set you’d like to keep, so you can save cash(golemancer, for example, certainly doesn’t seem that bad, if you get them “for free” anyway, when buying armor)
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.

Could you please post your build? I suspect vitality and power are you dump stats in this case?

Cof set + ruby orbs
That turned into an argument fast, I would have to agree with those who state go zerker or go home. IF your looking to min max that is. Going with a defensive/supportive build isn’t bad it’s just simply not the “best” way to play the current meta. That isn’t just an opinion btw it’s fact, argue all you want in favor of your favored builds guys but the fact still remains that am amusing dps for dungeon runs (and learning to survive anyhow) is the most effeminate way to run dungeons
The worst part is it’s something that’s hard/impossible to change from a development standpoint. If you have an action RPG with no trinity you have to add in ways for classes to block/avoid incoming damage (even one shot mechanics) and the “meta” becomes maximizing avoidance and pure dps and to hell with everything else.
All that long winded type just to say go zerk or go home lol.
