Its was needed to balance between pvp and pve and..i see more buffs than nerfs. Also sitting on adrenaline is just wrong, they should have deleted these traits completely

Yep, the same guy that got some problems with blind as he don’t know what to do and using evi or bullrush under that. Theres no help for ppl like that.

OK, dual weilding is useless because the only semi-useful offhand that benefits from it is mace. Vigorous focus is useless because of the nature of most stances that people actually use, and the fairly long cooldown that’s attached to them. For example if using endure pain, you do not need vigor. If using balanced stance, you are less likely to need vigor.

Also, just because you used berserker’s focus does not mean that you don’t use your burst skills. I use eviscerate, combustive shot, earthshaker, flurry all in builds that utilize this trait. What made it so great was that it was a low tier +damage trait that didn’t require you to spec too far into a traitline. Same goes for heightened focus.

Alright, since you edited I’ll break it down for you.

dual weilding only benefits offhand mace because the alternative offhands are useless (shield and warhorn do NOT gain benefit from this trait).

Nobody does use berserker’s stance in PvP, signet of fury if you’re really that adrenaline starved does the same thing WITH a passive effect. Or you could just take furious and never worry about adrenaline again. With the new patch berserker’s stance will have a 60s CD, making it another long cooldown skill.

tell me how are offhand useless with sword blocks not getting canceled from range attack and axe 50% damage buffs. and hybrid sword build could definitely use them 5% damage more then ever before now.
but to mention that ive already using dualsword and the extra block already saved my kitten a tons with extra bleeds.

and as of now before the patch, why the hell would you freaking choose furious when you can have other trait and leave your awesome damage speed buff sor passive when you can have one utility that give you tons of adren,

no, you are the one whos trolling . vigorous focus is definitely better then most of the discipline adept traits. according to your logic, almost every discipline adept would be useless except HF. not to mention how good vigor is and can help in a fight and alot of warriors will have stance in their utilities and 60 sec is not a long cd, like people still using endure pain even it has 90 sec cd and fights doesnt last long, either.

Though Warriors did receive some buffs (then again, all professions did), every way I played warrior got nerfed. Everything.

  • PvE+PvP 20/25/10/0/15 with AXE mainhand. Axe mainhand got arbitrarily changed and kittented on, mainly affecting PvP. This does not make sense, as Warriors are godly in PvE but lowest tier in PvP. This nerf affects PvP much worse than PvE, which is exactly the opposite of what changes need to be done for the Warrior. Already made a large post about this single change, I won’t make another Text Wall of China here.
  • WvW Hammer 0/0/10/30/30 nerfed with the introduction of the sparkling shiny Cleansing Ire merge (which, as stated before, is a poor solution to remove snare conditions), and the change to Leg Specialist. I also won’t be surprised if Hammer Shock just immobilizes 1 player and not the others.
  • Sword got revamped. This change is good to promote it as a primary weapon you will be using. How I and many others used it, however, was for the utility it provided. We aren’t specced for condition damage at all. We just wanted the snares and gap closers it provides since (surprise!) that’s what we need.

Here’s the nerfs I see, besides the change to berserker’s rage and heightened focus.

Yep, 30 sec duration (without any duration bonus) on a 48sec cd is useful. Also makes signet of furry and stamina more useful too.

You said you want to use swords so Im asuming you want the 10% to bleeding damage and the 10% crit chance while using a sword. Add 25 points to arms.

40-25=15

This is the part where you run out of points.

Now you have 15 points left see where this is going. You are a squishy glass cannon. Using sword sword and you suck at life.

That’ s my QQ. Besides the obvious nerf, berserker’s rage and heightened focus change. Now when will Brawn finally be changed?

It sucks that your build got nerfed (being sincere here). But I’d argue about the sword a bit. I use it as my main weapon with longbow for utility/range. I think it does pretty good as hybrid weapon (at least I’ve never had any problem in fractals/dungeons/pve), my only complaint would be the 25 limit on bleeds (but that’s a different argument). Still not stoked about the changes until I see the numbers, to me the 1? sec cripple getting moved onto the AA seems a bit silly. It was nice to control when you used a longer cripple than replace the main damage from its AA.

The spike damage from final thrust is good is a mixed bag. It’s nice to have that extra oomph, but then for half the battle I’ll be thinking “well do i use it at the start of a fight and hope the cd is done by the time I get him to 50% or do I have to sit on a skill because the base damage is just not good and only the utility adds real damage”

It will be nice to use the cripple on savage leap, but I again think it’s too short to be useful. At least for my personal playstyle I always used leap to use shield bash then flurry, which negates the cripple entirely. But I can see it being helpful for those that just use the sword to close distance and weapon swap to something else.

Though now I’ll need to rethink if I want a bloodlust or Corruption sigil on my weapon now.

Also, am I the only warrior who never used berserker’s rage or heightened focus…?

K let us play this silly game again:

Sword off hand:
4 causes bleeding. Yep..awesome.
number 5: Blocks one melee attack, doesn’t cancel with ranged. Cool.

Shield: 4 is a stun that interrupts healing..sounds useful..
Shield 5: Is a block for ranged, melee and doesn’t cancel after one melee hit. Sounds superior to Sword 5 in avoiding burst or being focused. It can also Reflect Ranged.

I fail to see how sword off hand is superior to shield.

As for your condis, you apply lesser types of condi in an inferior way to necros and Engys. Why would anyone take you over a necro/Engy with their boon ripping/bunkering+cc for an Engy and their much superior conditions? Now necro has Torment and access to burning.

sword off hand isnt better than shield. The block of shield is longer and it doesnt stop blocking when attacked by a melee hit. Also the shield stun is more usful than a ranged bleed that does bad damage unless you are a condition build. And it can be easly cleased. Some classes have a passive clease that clears a condition every 10 secs. So basically off hand sword sucks.

This patch maybe Sword/axe might be ok we have to see how it works out.

With blademaster, heightened focus and fury I can reach around 70% crit chance. 43% crit damage with the right runes. 2700 armor and 27k hp. And that’s not squishy at all, in spvp.

Its not squishy if your playing another profession. You have all of these good stats but your just a meat shield with no sustain.. Any class can do it better than you why would somone choose you on a team over a gurdian or any other class.

Point is the same stats were obtainable before easyer, and you had more points left over to allocate else where, there is no differnce between this and what warriors could always do how does this change anything. It doesnt its actually worst than before.

People been running the vvery build you just proposed forever and that didnt make them good. You are thinking this is somthing new its not, and its not viable any more now than it was before becasue its no differnt than what warriors could always do with less point investment.

There are very few people that truely understand warriors, strenghs and weaknesses and the problems warriors have. And these few people are becoming less and less everyday as more and more people abandon warriors all together. I feel you are not one of these people that truely understands warriors.

You actually have had to exclusivly play nothing but warrior in PVE, PVP and SPVP for a long time not just play it sometimes.

Most people look at warriors through a vacuum chamber as its been described else where and it looks great. In reality its not the case far from it. Becasue all warriors have going for them are stats, nothing but stats. The stats alone will not carry a warrior and it requires significantly more skill to play a warrior and be successful in PVP than anyother profesion besides maybe and engineer who I might add actually has a few really overpowered class mechanics that are far superior than anything a warrior has.

I tried it before the patch and it felt kinda limited. Just saying I want to try it again, with the new Final Thrust. And see how it goes. Consider that an experiment: I want to push it to its limits, and see how it goes. Maybe it goes bad, maybe it goes well.

I play also an engineer. I know stats aren’t everything. But I want to see what happens when I focus on them.

I think I’m far from being pro, and this build is probably far from being perfect. But whatever, I’ll try.

Your statement about playing warrior exclusively just shows that you pretty much don’t understand much about the warrior and how it should be balanced.

Playing warrior for 2000 hours in all sorts of content is one thing and will give you a pretty good grasp on what a warrior needs, what are their strengths and weaknesses, etc. But you are only looking at the warrior through one different point of view and you really don’t have much of a basis in comparing it with other classes. And pretty much, your view will be pretty biased and ignorant.

Playing other classes will actually help in understanding the warrior a lot more as well. Playing other classes against warriors will help give another viewpoint in terms of how balance should be achieved and give you a better idea on their weaknesses and strengths. And also how to balance them relative to the mechanics, traits, playstyle other classes have, etc. And maybe you will discover that some of your issues are L2P issues rather than class and balance issues.

The more you know the better.

May I add I never thought warrior was great because of big HP/big armor?

Big HP/Big Armor?

We have 18k hp, and we have the second weakest armor of any class.

Big stats don’t matter in this game as much as straight percental values, most numbers get into diminishing returns at 2750.

TF2? I’m sorry this isn’t that game, if you compare both I suggest you read a book on theorycrafting. They are completely different games with different rules.

Big stats in this game just means you hit the cap easier…

No, I don’t want to compare them. Just asking myself these questions: Is there a situation where my build excels? If yes, how can I manage to force the enemy into that situation? Maybe it won’t happen, I’m not sure about anything.

There are very few people that truely understand warriors, strenghs and weaknesses and the problems warriors have. And these few people are becoming less and less everyday as more and more people abandon warriors all together. I feel you are not one of these people that truely understands warriors.

You actually have had to exclusivly play nothing but warrior in PVE, PVP and SPVP for a long time not just play it sometimes.

Most people look at warriors through a vacuum chamber as its been described else where and it looks great. In reality its not the case far from it. Becasue all warriors have going for them are stats, nothing but stats. The stats alone will not carry a warrior and it requires significantly more skill to play a warrior and be successful in PVP than anyother profesion besides maybe and engineer who I might add actually has a few really overpowered class mechanics that are far superior than anything a warrior has.

Your statement about playing warrior exclusively just shows that you pretty much don’t understand much about the warrior and how it should be balanced.

Playing warrior for 2000 hours in all sorts of content is one thing and will give you a pretty good grasp on what a warrior needs, what are their strengths and weaknesses, etc. But you are only looking at the warrior through one different point of view and you really don’t have much of a basis in comparing it with other classes. And pretty much, your view will be pretty biased and ignorant.

Playing other classes will actually help in understanding the warrior a lot more as well. Playing other classes against warriors will help give another viewpoint in terms of how balance should be achieved and give you a better idea on their weaknesses and strengths. And also how to balance them relative to the mechanics, traits, playstyle other classes have, etc. And maybe you will discover that some of your issues are L2P issues rather than class and balance issues.

The more you know the better.

Playing other classes only helps you as a warrior to understand how to counter other classes, and shows you how disadvantaged warriors are to them. am I being trolled here becasue I think you think that you think that I don’t know what I am talking about when if you look at my post history I have clearly demonstated the oposite of what you are inferring.

Looking at your post history you recenty worte “Agreed with LordTitan 100%. All in all if these updates are true it is an overall buff to warriors. Hardly any DPS loss at all (except for PvE, even then, not so much), it will create new and interesting build combinations. Going 30 into strength is actually a possibility now.”

So basically what you are telling me is we should all (including the devs) play one class and then justify and base buffs and nerfs to them based on trying to balance one class without considering everything else that comes into the equation?

That is like saying to a cognitive disorder patient “here is some meds, you don’t need therapy because that is just overrated”.

You say you have demonstrated the opposite of what I was inferring? Lol? Ok then, I guess if you like unicorns and pixies and need a self ego boost like that then that is fine with me. Because you know EVERYTHING there is to know about a warrior and anybody who disagrees with you doesn’t and is a troll that is out of the loop right?

Everybody is so focused on the supposed “HF and BP moving to grandmaster traits” that they have completely failed to see the numerous buffs that are supposedly going to happen. 5 seconds off heal? Endure Pain 60 seconds?, numerous sword cripples? Desperate Power? Longbow and Hammer aftercast times reduced? And these are just a few of the buffs mentioned.

And if you did look a little closer at my post history (which is kind of creepy that you would do that extensive of a search) you would see that I said I had doubts about whether it would raise our standing in sPvP. But to call it an outright nerf to the warrior and that it ruins builds is just stupid, especially since the patch hasn’t been implemented yet. People are crying over kittenhat hasn’t happened or been extensively tested yet and act like its the apocalpyse for warriors because “zomg, I lost 12% damage and 9% crit chance even though I am not at full adrenaline half the time and they improved Desperate Power and moved DoTE to the Master trait line, woooooowwww fk ANet why would they nerf the worst sPvP class omgggg”.

So what if it ruins your build, learn to adapt and find a new build I am sure it will work just as well if not better.

okok, we all have complains, i have too due to berserkers power.
lets see the other options about we can improve even more the warrior when the patch goes live. from my little experience in pve and wvw, a 3.2k overall defence warrior with soldier runes and a few shouts, stomp, little traits in stability, will never have problems with CC or any condition stacker
use the shield+axe wisely, trait them wisely for reflect dmg, if they run and hit, just pull out a rifle with ice sigil>> they become the pray, u the hunter

Big HP/Big Armor?

We have 18k hp, and we have the second weakest armor of any class.

Big stats don’t matter in this game as much as straight percental values, most numbers get into diminishing returns at 2750.

TF2? I’m sorry this isn’t that game, if you compare both I suggest you read a book on theorycrafting. They are completely different games with different rules.

Big stats in this game just means you hit the cap easier…

Just like Melandru+Lemongrass+Dogged March makes you immune to immo/chill/cripple and that -condition duration trumps +condition duration?

Yup, Lemongrass Poultry Soup is overpowered and Armor diminishing returns makes armor/toughness useless

How is Final Thrust?

Big damage but on a hidelously long 15second cooldown + the casting time is huge, making it so obvious to dodge it. It’s horrible.
