I have reviewed other peoples’ threads and find than in PAX Tournament, warrior still are the lowest class to be picked up by Clans, though we have been buffed through three patches.

This can make people both happy and sad. The happy thing is that we can still get buffs in next patches perphaps . The sad this for the current truth….

Meh, it’s hard to lose the bad stigma we have. We still need some more tweaks (ex. more gap closers or skills to keep the range short) and maybe then some top players will pick Warriors and start using them. Only then we’ll lose the stigma.

There was one Warrior that played.

Unfortunately his team was sub par and he was also running a 30/30/10/0/0 GS Longbow. Thus he got blown up in a matter of seconds entering each team fight.

Well, most accomplished PvP teams are already well adjusted to each other and just don’t want to change classes.

Also, there’s not been much time to test the Warrior with the last changes. It will take some time for meta to shift (or not shift, which would indicate that Warriors are still on the weak side).

I didn’t watched all the videos but so far i’ve seen 1 Warrior aswell as 1 Mesmer in the whole tournament. So, umm…hi guys, bit dark here in bottom tier.

I mean maybe that was because Necro is so powerful they just felt they couldn’t win without it and Warrior is actually balanced so they didn’t feel the need to switch to using one. Was there an initial qualifier round where teams that had Warriors got eliminated or was there really just no teams that entered with Warriors?

I was going to ask how the Warrior did….sad.

No point in playing a Warrior when a Guardian can do it and better.

They don’t know what theyre missing out on. A hammer / mace + shield stance warrior is the best counter to a necro in the game imho. Throw a thief (or anyone else, really) on your focus target and that’s one saaaad panda. I mean necro… sad necro-panda? Whatever. Oh well I guess.

The -100% Condition Duration stance only affects conditions applied after you use the stance, if you have 10 conditions melting you down and use it, it won’t save you.

Meanwhile, a guardian can convert them all into boons and pretty much save himself and use those boons to heal himself back up, then apply those boons to his entire team.

I think its really sad too, when I play my Necromancer in SPVP, I have this warrior almost dead.

He pops Endure Pain, Berserker Stance, everything he can to live, and he still dies because it doesn’t do anything to whats already on him.

Why would you wait to use it until you have 10 conditions on you? No offense but that sounds like you’re not using it properly. And you realize you can run with a guardian too? They aren’t mutually exclusive.

Sorry, i’ve never seen it used “properly” I usually wait and then throw all my conditions at once.

If you have played a necromancer or engineer for more then 5 minutes you realize how much conditions they can literally throw on a target in a short amount of time.

You cannot read your enemies mind.

No need to get upset. I play a necro, engi and a guardian too. I understand how they work and when they are going to burst condis. the majority of necro condi burst actually comes from your team with staff 4 or dagger 4. This means they are going to run in, apply some aoe pressure, watch friendly stacks, wait for an opportunity, and then ‘hot potato’ conditions, deathshroud and burst. It’s predictable and can be shut down with some smart cc and focus fire.

Predicting enemies comes from instinct and practice. It’s the same thing for any other type of competition. The safety didn’t “read the quarterback’s mind” when he read the cross route and came forward for the interception. He’s been there before, recognized the signs, and performed accordingly. The same thing applies to gaming.

Not trying to sound condescending, but I’m just getting really tired of hearing “guardians do it better”, especially after all the buffs. They are two different monsters. You don’t hear that broad stroke, super presumptuous argument from any other class. Rangers don’t say “we suck run an engi they do it better.” Mesmers don’t say “we suck run ele they do it better”. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. Everything in pvp is relative.
