Since the community already decided there will be 2 handed Axes (lol, but seriously: we want it, plz add it) i’ve decidede to help the devs by thinking of 2H Axe skills
1: 3 Part Chain: 3rd Attack is a 360° swing. 1st & 2nd swing have ~45° swing angle
2: Execute: The Warrior lands a vertical swing dealing heavy damage and bleeding his enemies in a short line (SHORT!, can’t move. cast time sth. like Mace skill 5 and 1/3 of it’s range)
3: Axe Bash: The Warrior uses the blunt side of his axe to daze his enemy for 2 seconds. If he hits his enemy from the back he gets knocked down for 1 second.
4: Crippling Strike: The Warrior inflicts a sever wound to his target, dealing damage and crippling it for 5 seconds.
5: Finishing Whirl: The Warrior spins, attacking surrounding enemies up to 2 times. Enemies below 25% recieve double damage.
F1: Berseker’s Rush: The Warrior sprints towards his enemy, stopping behind it. Every enemy in the line recieves damage. Damage is reduced the more enemies he hits. The more adrenalin the Warrior has, the less damage gets reduced.
Note: Before you discuss whether this is OP or not, please consider that there are NO damage values given!
“Double Damage” might sound hard, but it depends on the base damage of the ability.
Please discuss and make honest improvements.
Hopefully the ArenaNet Devs get to see this thread to help us create a better world (of Tyria)

I dont like the 4 skill block as it doesnt fit two handed axe stile which should be all about single and AoE damage.
How about leg chopper. Hack on the opponents leg like when you are gathering from tree’s until it is cut off =)

F1: Thief killer. Instantly slays any thief profession, destroying all of their armor in the process
Adrenaline Stage 1: Force a disconnect to all live streamers who play thief
Adrenaline Stage 2: Clear all forum posts on the thief forum
Adrenaline Stage 3: No thief on any server can stealth for 10 minutes.
Just kidding In all seriousness I like your idea. What do you think would be reasonable cooldowns to those skills?

I love this idea, i did however change a little of the layout and skill descriptions. What do you think?

F1: Berseker’s Rush: The Warrior sprints trough his enemies. Every enemy in the line of the rush is knocked down for 1-2-3 seconds depends on adrenaline and receive damage
I think you missed some of the description of skill 5, what does the charged attck do?
and I think your F1 doesnt fit the axe, stun is toooooo much and I think the ultimate Axe ability should rather deal dmg than stun.
But I like the name of No. 5
I also think that the Axe shouldn’t focus on bleeds so much, thats what what the sword is there for
I’ve always felt like the one handed sword abilities felt more axe like. Make 2-handed axe a bleed condition setup and make one-handed swords a more evasive fighting style. “Water Dancer” / Fencer.
Im thinking if you ever played TERA the charge skills for berserker is kinda the same thought for the 5th skill doing massive damage longer you hold more damage it does with a limit of x seconds ofcourse, as if you use all your force into a blow.
Second option would be like the axe offhand today but with a change that it will keep you rooted in a spot spinning until released. So basically replace name of skill 2 with Decaptitate and Rename 5 to Axe Spin or Blender :p
I was actually considering the F1 to be named Axe momentum, making you block all attacks for 1-2-3 seconds would fit a 2handed axe well in the perspective of a “huge” warrior with an axe. Or as you said a more RAAAAWR attack :p
Mabye also change it to cripple, but having cripple up on every autoattack will make people complain alot. Could also be flat damage with a higher base damage. TBH i dont really mind that either.

This 100 times. I know Anet wanted to break some molds with GW2 but somethings just dont fit. Axes deal high dmg but are also more a “brutal” fighting style, hacking away at opponents. IMO bleeds would have made more sense on an axe.
on topic tho, i like the ideas for the skills for the 2h axe. i was really surprised they weren’t in the game. i know a lot of people want 2h axes in the game and Anet has hinted at it, so maybe this will help them out!

- I really would like to see an ability that tosses an enemy behind you, perhaps hooking them with the axe and spinning around to throw them towards your allies. Also useful in PvE to position & interrupt.
That sounds more like a polearm type ability TBH. Impale your target, then turn around and throw it behind you, etc.
Am I the only one who don’t want a 2H axe ? Or, as it’s presented now ?
What you’re proposing is a mix of some of the other weapons skills. All the weapons have some pros (and cons) and they’re focused on something.
Sword is bleed, axe is fast adren, mace is cc, gs is damage/aoe, etc.
But I don’t see what would that 2H axe be different of what we have already. Another weapon skin ?
I think the f1 skill should be something like, throw your weapon forward a small distance damaging anyone hit by it, then charge towards it knocking down anyone in your path
None of our abilities have a pull, so how about:
Crescent Hook - Swing your Axe in an arc infront of you, pulling enemies towards you.
Range: 400
Adding the 2h axe as an AoE melee weapon wouldn’t really be worth the effort, considering we already have considerable melee AoE with hammers, greatswords and 1h axes. May as well just add 2h axes and give them greatsword skills.
A polearm/poleaxe with midrange attacks and a pull would be nice. 2H axe as pure damage doesn’t really do anything that sword, axe, or greatsword isn’t already covering.
