Gandara – WvW Warrior

If you are wondering about my build. I’m running a supportive hammer warrior (damage is quite high with bloodlust/might stacks tho!). I use shouts for healing and i have a lot of condition removal via the warhorn. I hope you enjoy it!
edit: Since people asked. I decided to post the full build in GW2guru. Take a look:

Thanks!

Nice to see there are other hammers warriors out there in WvW
1 small suggestion that I might add is replacing the strength shout with bullrush.
I’ve found that extra knockdown and leap to be amazing when escaping or securing a kill.
Hey, nice footage!
Could you share you build/gear please?
Very entertaining video — was that “Immediate Music” ?
Also can you please share your build? I wanted to use hammer as my main weapon on my warrior, but I am struggling with the perfect build.
I enjoyed the video, one of the best hammer videos Ive seen.
As stated above, what build (traits and gear) are you running? It seems like you
can take allot of damage, so Im assuming invader armor?
Im thinking 0/0/20/30/20? That would allow Merciless Hammer, Vigorous
Shouts and Mobile Strikes. Not sure on the armor mix though.
I was accustomed to running a GS as the secondary since it had abilities
to either close the gap, or run away (Whirlwind Attack and Rush), but I do
like the sword/warhorn since it has Savage Leap and Charge.

Thank you everyone! I definitely had some Immediate Music in here! Artists like Epic Score, Two Steps From Hell and Immediate Music make “epic” music with a lot of choir action. It goes nicely with videos like this imo!

Thunderbrew, you can take out the warhorn for a shield when playing solo or with a zerg. But when running with a guild roaming group, either take axe off hand for damage or warhorn for more condi removal support. And you seem to understand how a good build will look like. As seen in the link i posted, i do run 0/0/20/30/20. That said, i prefer knight over invader gear. Warriors have high HP alrdy and vitality is ment to counter conditions, something we can easily remove anyways.
That said, invader gear could work as well.

I researched the link you posted, and noticed it was page 4 of a post.
I went to page one, the OP, and I noticed he has a 10/0/30/10/20
hammer build. Oddly, doesnt use Merciless Hammer but I he seems
to make that build work as well (relies on shield).
Thanks for sharing. Btw, I strongly suggest you to make a separate thread with your build as it differs too much from the OP’s build and still worth trying

Are you using all T3 cultural gear, also where did you get the back piece and 2 rings from?
I dont see that being very impressive.
DPS is really low and you spent 99% of the time just aoe tagging players and running back out. You added very little to the fight to be honest.
The ascended items are only obtainable via Fractal of the mists at this moment. But Arenanet has stated that they will become obtainable in WvW in the future.
I’m using full T3 cultural, yep. It’s my favourite heavy armorset in the game.

It’s your opinion of course but your logic is flawed.
I assume you are new to the warrior but i’m running a shout spec. So every time i use shouts, i heal my allies and give them boons for a very long duration. On top of that, my warhorn skills remove tons of conditions and boons as well (traited). That right there, is already a lot of support.
But the most important part about a hammer warrior, is the AoE control. The fact that you think more damage is the way to go is flawed. You only need a little bit of damage because you have plenty of guildies doing the same. Together, you dish out enough damage to kill enemies. But the control is extremely valuable. It reduces the incoming damage drastically and makes the enemy a perfect target for AoE skills.
Glass cannon great swords warriors are not the only way to play this game, especially in larger fights. Just saying!

I will craft my warrior to 80 tonight and try this spec out. I’m looking for a good/fun support class and this is my style lol. Thank you for the info and its great to see a warrior withOUT a GS!
Btw is this the build you use for dungeons?
(edited by Lunatic.9314)
Never said GS is only way to go. I don’t use actually.
I run sword/warhorn and rifle. Shouts also.
Sorry but your dps is kitten poor and what control via the hammer? The snare? Run mace off hand and get longer, better CC with the knockdown and interrupt. Can run sword or axe main hand and bring more also.
The knockback is ok to stop stomps, but again mace off hand be solid there also.
You can’t talk shouts because ALL weapon selections can run that.
Plus have no range is a liability to your group. Being fair you might have lb or rifle and not shown it in the video.
If you believe the extra rifle damage is better than the control a hammer provides, then that’s fine and if it works better for you, that’s even better. I hope you can provide a video of your awesome build so i can give it a shot. No pun intended.
Just remember that i have high survivability and 2400+ power in battle. My damage is not that low btw, it’s AoE as well. The rifle has piercing shots if traited but it’s still a very single target oriented weapon and adds nothing to the group in terms of combos. The hammer has a blast finisher as well. Maybe your build works better when roaming but in a roaming group, i doubt it works that well.
And yes, of course i have a rifle/longbow in my inventory. I switch to those in sieges etc.
@lunatic. I’m not doing any dungeons anymore with my warrior but i ran the “Sonic Boon” build. It uses Greatsword/rifle. Hammer is not that great in dungeons. A lot of bosses are immune to control as well. Here is the link:

You dont need to defend yourself Idarko, you added value to the
forums. Period.
Coming from someone who has vast WvW experience, Ive seen
disruption disorganize the enemy more than just damage countless
of times. In addition, most zergs turn and run the second things
start getting disrupted.

Question… I have knights amulet and ear ring, would zerkers be good for the rings and other ear ring? Also i cant get runes of the monk yet, what can I use in the mean time?

Why defend.. He likes his spec and that is fine.. If others have different thoughts, good for them..
In the end play the way YOU have fun.. No need to max/min..
@Lunatic, Berserker would work yeah. It gives you slightly more crit damage at the cost of losing toughness.
Other runes that work nicely are might duration imo.
Rune of the fire ( +25 power and 20% might duration)
Rune of Hoelbrak ( +25 power and 20% might duration)
Rune of strength ( +25 power and 20% might duration)
Or rune of mercy (+25 toughness and faster reviving)
There are also a few runes that increase swiftness duration by 20% but that’s really not needed.
Lastly, Rune of Divinity would work but that’s way too expensive for short term usage.
