Atm we know professions that specialize will get a new weapon (that already exists in the game) that they havent been able to equip before, a healing skill ,elite skill, a set of utility skills (hopefully more than just 3 skills) new traits as well as a promise that the gameplay and the professions mechanic will change in a whole new experience.
Lets take the mentioned ranger-druid.
it will get a new weapon, a staff, it will still be able to have pets. It will have some new “druid” themed 6-0 skills and new traits that compliment those skills.
But what about the other skills? What about the bow skills, the gs, the axe, torch skills that it used as a ranger? Surely the druid isn’t restricted on using only a staff as a weapon? And surely the druids new gameplay changing mechanics arent restricted on only when played with a staff ?!
Surely i wont be a druid that uses a longbow- s/a with a bear pet that and play the same as a ranger?
I can only hope that specializing a profession would mean not only a new weapon with a handfull of new 6-0 and some traits but also new skills on previous “old” weapons…
TLDR: What do you think, will the old weapons change skills once you specialized into a new profession?
