Spiked Armor trait. Thoughts?
I like the idea of the trait. Its a little lackluster as a GM trait though. gaining 5 secs of retaliation once every 15 seconds if struck by a critical hit is such a short duration.
Should either be increased to 10 seconds or keep at 5 seconds and add weakness or vulnerability to your attacker every time you’re struck.
Should also add 5 seconds of protection.

The problem with that is boon duration. 50% = 100% passive retal uptime.
They just nerfed most weakness durations in the game… I don’t see 33% passive weakness uptime happening either.

Dangit, Daecollo! Stop asking for protection on warriors! it’d be way overkill.

That’s why I run Lyssa runes on my condition tank ;3 20% protection, retal, regen, and every other boon with the amount of boon duration I get from traits.
Spiked = Hurts when you hit them.
Armor = You take less damage.
Retaliation = Hurts when you hit them.
Protection = You take less damage.
Its a GRANDMASTER TRAIT, it should be powerful!
Also, who are you to say such a thing anyways? The most OP thing right now is conditions, what is this 5-6 months ago?

My sugestion:
- Send Spiked Armor to Minor Adept Defense, without change effect.
- Send Thick Skin to Grandmaster Defense, and change his effect:
Thick Skin: Reduce incoming damage based on adrenaline level.
Level 1 = 5% reduction
Level 2 = 10% reduction
Level 3 = 15% reduction
The goal are provides better traits, some then sinerging with adrenaline.

Defensive Warriors use their adrenaline. Lol.
The goal are make more strategic use for adrenaline.
The use are the same of Adrenal Health, when the player can choise retain his adrenaline and grants regeneration.
In this case, retain adrenaline grants regeneration and damage reducton, but sacrifice cleansing ire and burst skills.
Are a balanced way to buff this grandmaster.
I’m fond of Spiked Armor. I have high boon duration so it’s sure to take effect almost every engagement. It doesn’t deter enemy attacks, but it does dole out some damage over time.
Spike armor is a decent trait, however if you have a guardian in your group (hard to find a non guardian party these days), then it seems a bit wasted as they can provide a lot of retal uptime without trying hard. You are better off with something else like cleaning ire or last stand imo.
After toying with retaliation on various set-ups for Mesmer, I think the trait is alright if maybe they added another passive bonus, like “Your Retaliation inflicts 20% more damage” or “Retaliation is now boosted by your power and vitality”.
Warriors do not need preotection…
Since EVERY ONE uses crit its rather nice but 5 secs is kinda low.
