If anyone wouldn’t mind explaining to me how I might go about making a very heavily tank based Warrior I would really appreciate it.
I believe I have the basics but confirmation would be great.

What I mean by the title is that I enjoy scouting in WvW. I also love being an attractive squirrel and eating half an enemy zerg because they all want to kill me so bad. So the harder I am to kill the better.

Mace/shield || Sword/WH

Defense: dogged march, clensing ire, and spiked armor, mace mastery, or the reflecting missiles while blocking(cant remember name)

Tactics: lung capacity, quick breathing, shouts heal (can swap the shout traits for banner if you prefer but personally i prefer shouts)

Discipline: Shouts give adrenaline, or warriors sprint.

Full P/V/T armor with soldier’s runes
Cleric or zerker weapons .. I personally prefer the zerker for the damage but cleric is good if u want to just stand there and let people get mad because you wont die(or very hard to kill)

For scouting I would strongly recommend the following:

Greatsword / Sword/x – for movement
At least 20 in Discipline – for Mobile Strikes
At least 10 in Defense – for Dogged March
Melandru Runes and / or – % Condition Duration food
Signet of Rage, x / Warhorn or Warrior’s Sprint for +% Movement Speed

For tanking:

x / Shield – for blocks
One or more of Defy Pain / Balanced Stance / Signet of Stamina / Dolyak Signet to keep you alive.
Shield Master / Cleansing Ire / Defy Pain are also worth thinking about

So mix and match and see what fits you best.

I would have a hammer for zerg busting, the GS/Sword+WH is great for mobility outside of a fight. Also I don’t see Cleric weapons without more Healing Power stats being worth the other stat loss. Just use Zerker or if you want more meat, PVT. You won’t kill much but you can be annoying.

Mango Pie!

Hey dude you are walking into a wall.

I play FULL tank in SPvP a lot, you have little chance of killing anyone, but you can hold a node extremely well. The only problem is, I run banners with perma regen. For WvW, that won’t be so good since you’d have to carry them with you, or run the risk of someone else moving it.
That being said, if you trait banners you can place the banner and by the time it’s near it’s end duration, you’ll have accumulated 30+ seconds of regen. Which would allow you to escape a zerg (provided they don’t chase you for ages) and reapply.

I’d probably run something along the lines of this
Sword/Sword also wouldn’t be a bad choice for the swap set. The mainhand is for mobility. The offhand has a decent block on a low cooldown. If you are hit by ranged projectiles you will continue to block for the duration, though a single melee hit will be blocked and then end the skill.

EDIT: I wouldn’t bother with Healing Power, it scales really poorly on Warriors in my experience.
EDIT: Personally I play with Spiked armour, since it’s got a low cooldown with decent uptime (even better with next patch). Due to it harassing the enemy. It would also be beneficial in WvW to tag enemies for loot bags, but it’s all about preference really.
