Suggestion For WvW Warrior Commander
I’ve heard that as a comm you will want a slightly more tanky set-up than as your run-of-the-mill WvWer but I have no experience on the matter, so I will leave the issue to more experienced ppl.
Sonya for females. (necro,rev,ranger,mes,engi)
All classes lvl 80.
I do not command in WvW(can’t afford the Tag), but I can offer some insight from observations. You may already command and know much of what I will list, but I am going to write from a very basic perspective.
1. Do not expect/plan to be in close combat a lot when you are commanding. You need to keep a larger view of what is going on. I would suggest a CC weapon set to get yourself clear of any mobs. Hammer (or maybe Mace/Shield) and Longbow for the range AoE. I think I would keep them Berserker weapons.
2. Tanky is a must. I hate to suggest changing armors, as I personally like Marauder’s gear…but I think you need a bit more “Tankiness”. I’m not sure what to suggest here…maybe Knight, Soldier, or Valkyrie armor…Durability Runes are a good choice…or maybe use Trooper Runes…if using Trooper Runes I would run 2 shouts in your utilities and a banner.
3. If you really want Tanky…Soldier Trinkets…if you just want the Vitality boost…Valkyrie(you might be able to get away with Knight’s Trinkets…but I am hesitant to push that idea.).
4. The Traits are gonna be the tough one here…getting things to synergize well and provide you with the stability, mobility, and durability without giving up a major kitten-ton of damage capability will be a major trick, I would hope to keep a moderate damage level…I am just not sure it can be done without sacrificing at least one of those things with our current Trait configuration/choices in each line. But I am NOT a hardcore min/max number cruncher…but I hope perhaps someone who is will chime in here with some input.
Here is a link to something I whipped up real quick…I am sure it can be improved upon…this was just a first quick pass…the goal is to stay alive and be of use to the people you command. It uses the Trooper Rune idea…but I am leaning more toward your Durability runes the more I think about it…<insert sound of gears grinding>
I hope this helps, even if it just sparks an idea.
I can because I want to
I want to because you said I couldn’t

I’d totally run my trailblazer warrior build for commanding lol. I’d probably drop one of my utilities for endure pain for safe measure, but it is incredibly tanky and can still deal some nice AOE condition damage.

When commanding zergs, durability takes priority over DPS. This doesn’t mean run a full nomads or sentinels stance warrior. You’re still a member of the zerg, even if you’re leading it, so you should run something that works pretty well for the zerg. Just focus on getting your defensive stats up first, and then put effort into improving your damage.
For a warrior zerg commander, shooting for something like 3K armor and 24K health before traits would be a pretty good target. If you’re facing a lot of pin sniping you might need to go up a bit, but I’ve found that in general those sorts of stats work fairly well.
I normally run the old fashioned shout warrior build for commanding, but that’s mostly because I pugmand, and it makes sure that no matter what comp I end up with, I’m going to have enough condi clear to stay alive. However, you could definitely command with a more standard DPS warrior build, provided you get your survivability up enough first.
So, for trinkets, maybe something like this: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vJAQFABA-TlhXABEo0AW1fEd/BHUCCgysP0BEA4AwyLv8yLvcLv8yLv8yBA-w
I went with the assumption of full ascended gear. If that’s not accurate, then adjust as needed to get that 3K armor, and 24K health.

Stop acting like you want to help, the only thing you do here is spamming your bad builds in every warrior topic. A warrior condi commander? What did you smoked man?

i would say the longer resistance lasts the better :\
warrior commander is kinda bad, if u don’t have support to clear your condis, you wont die from them but you can become an epi target that every around you will die.
warrior and we’re the best class” Eugene
Pvt. Old school but works. Just adjust the damage as you get better by changing to damage.
