Warrior Redone is back in active status after a few days break. Basically i wanted to see what sort of changes they would make to the warrior. Having seen a few of them, and being very disappointed I will continue work on Warrior Redone.

Resolved some comments that were very nicely placed on the doc. Some of the suggestions were defiantly heeded, while others were not.

  • Corrected grammar
  • Forceful blades no longer has +10% damage. there was no reason to have both +10% damage and might stacking.

Update 01/17/2016

  • Changed unstoppable to automatically break out of stun,daze, etc. This is due to unstoppable being both overpowered and counter intuitive four rousing resilience. The trait will now automatically break out of stun when above the health threshold. To insure that this does not overpower the trait the trait is now on an internal cooldown of 5s.
  • Leg specialist now increases duration of cripple you inflict.
  • Signet mastery no longer activates signet of might. I found this trait too powerful even with the removal of recharge reduction. Signet master will now maitain passive effects of signets while reducing recharge on signets.
  • Anyone may now comment on Warrior Redone. If you do make a suggestion i will do my best to address each of them and add you to the credits page.

Okay guys, its everyone’s turn to bash my build as much as they would like. It’s time to perform the nurf on Warrior redone traits to ensure that this is as balanced as possible. This can include anything from increasing internal cool downs, reducing boon duration, and even removing traits if that is required. I have resolved all previous comments from the document and will allow anyone to comment on each trait. Then i will be nurfing each trait that we can find that is likelly overpowered.

This is also a chance for people who do not main warriors to have a say in what changes we bring to the table.

The document is open for commenting. If you want to have a say in what is going into the build you are free to comment on the file. suggestions are taken very seriously on the build and I try to address every issue.

Stances
yes i gave access to stances to every warrior with this build. because stances were so important to the warrior that almost every warrior runs them. second, the stances given by traits replace traits that do similar things. for example Berserker’s Fury replaces the adrenaline gain trait in arms, which actually nerfs the original adrenaline gain trait.

This is not a small change to warrior. it was always meant to be a complete redesign of warrior and we are working to make it balanced. if you do not like it, you honestly have a say in what goes into it. you just have to take the time to comment on the build.

Update 01/20/2016

  • Major change to adrenaline.
  • Adrenaline bar has been removed.
  • Each stance and burst skill now has it’s own adrenaline pool
  • All Traits which effect Adrenaline have been removed pending redesign to work with the new System. (Otherwise you’d end up with all of your stances active almost all the time)
  • Stances have been given Adrenaline pools which I will attempt to reflect their over all power.
  • Stances are being redesigned to work with the new system.

Update 01/22/2016

  • Resolved many comments in the doc that were no longer needed or no longer relevant.
  • Removed Strength of purpose for reworking
  • Merged sundering mace with Merciless Hammer and renamed it to Smash Brawler.
  • Increase Adrenaline pools of Stances and burst skills.
  • Adrenaline pools now decay outside of combat
  • Created new trait in Discipline to regulate adrenaline decay.
  • Adrenaline will now decay every 3 seconds when outside of combat. The trait will have it decay every 5 seconds.
  • Moved Inspiring battle standard to the defense line.
  • Specified that inspiring battle standard effects the weapon skills attached to banners.
  • Unsuspecting foe now applies opening strike when you stun, daze, etc a foe.
  • Blademaster now grants flat 25% critical hit chance with swords. Removed bleeding stipulation.

  • Greatsword Finished.
  • Moved Cripple from Bladetrail to Rush
  • Bladetrail now pierces
  • Reduced after cast on greatsword 1 from 0.3 seconds to 0.2
  • the entire cycle takes 2.1 seconds as opposed to 2.4 seconds

You probably need to refine adrenal health a little more, I had the same problem with that trait until someone pointed it out.

Current adrenal health heals passively 351 in 3 seconds, or 7020 in one minute
351/3=117*60= 7020 HP in one minute

Your proposed changes for adrenal healing heals 2400 HP in one minute, if you gain 10 hp per adrenaline, there’s 30 adrenaline per pool before requiring to use burst, and you can use 8 bursts in 1 minute.
10*30*8=2400 HP in one minute

Also the .15 modifier is way too high. Consider if the warrior has 2300 Healing Power
2300*.15= additional 345 / adrenaline

345+10=355*30*8=85,200 HP in one minute

  • Peak Performance’s unblockable effect does not affect rampage. Peak Performance now grants 10% damage to Rampage
  • Resolved Restorative Strength Comment.
  • Fast hands is now Baseline
  • Moved Relentless to Minor Trait line
  • Moved Signet Mastery
  • Brought back Reckless abandon
  • Replaced Fast hands trait with Disciplined. This Trait increased stance durations by 20%

Wow, I can’t believe I’m still working on this. Seriously, complete overhauls are way more difficult than just balancing. Still on the workbench, are the remaining weapons and berserk mode, Berserk mode will see a complete rework soon to bring it inline with the Adrenaline Redone stuff.

Why do you waste your time on thins?
Because I’m part of a community of players who see a broken, unappreciated profession and I want that communities voices to be heard. Stop asking, i will not give a different answer

What are your qualifications?
I’m doing it, so there.

ZOMG! what is is Adrenaline Redone!!!!!
Adrenaline redone is very simply a complete overhaul to Adrenaline and how it works. Basically, I have made Stances baseline, made all warrior’s bar skills work in the same way adrenaline worked in Guild Wars 1, That is each stance and burst skill and even Berserk mode has an adrenaline pool which fills over time. These skills do not have cool downs but instead can only be activate when their adrenaline is full.

ZOMG! How Is that going to work with Berserk Mode!?
Good question. There are two options I’m looking at

  • Berserk mode and rage skills will Replace stances and burst skills. I actually like this because it does not unbalance the warrior. what i mean with that is that, while tyou will not have access to your stance skills you will have access to them through procs, also i like how it keeps the same feel as the rest of warrior redone.
  • Berserk Mode will become a stance that you can activate and primal burst skills replace burst skills. This creates a situation where the warrior always has access to their primal burst skills, and berserk mode, but the skills without changing rage skills. It also haves the benefit of allowing the warrior to still have access to stances (albeit, one less stance because berserk will replace one of them)

But emkelly! Arn’t you afraid this makes warriors too powerful?
Heck no! For one thing i have a great community of players who have watched and commented on my build for months. Every-time something comes up that it too powerful they have made it clear what it is and given suggestions on how to fix it.

I still don’t get this Adrenaline thing. You only have three stances.
Yep, you have to choose three stances. ANd i mean it you choose them. on your adrenaline skill bar you have F1, F2, F3. Each of these has a little selector arrow next to it that you use to select the stance you want to use in your build. Stances are still skills, that you learn with hero points.

Why do you keep double posting?
So that you know when Warrior redone has been updated.

*Who is your favorite homebrew redesigner on the forums?
That’s an easy one. All of them. Anyone who works on things like this. In terms of who i have the most time working with? TheBravery has been an immense help.

What is your end game for this?
To create an out there prototype for what the warrior could be, something that will catch Anet’s eyes. To form my design in a logical and interesting way and form my article in a professional manner that I can submit to Anet as a proposal.

Why not use a spreadsheet like The Bravery?
Spreadsheets are great for organizing thoughts, displaying bulk amounts of information, and making everything look neat and tidy. But they are not good for reading a proposal. So, what i have done is built an article which allows you guys to look at everything I’m doing. I have included a table of contents for quick browsing, and i have a non public spreadsheet which organizes the data as well as includes a lot of math which will be included in the final proposal. Basically what you see is just the overview of Warrior Redone, the real boring stuff is in a spreadsheet.

  • Increased adrenaline pools on all stances. All stances require 100 Adrenaline to be activated. This is 3.3 times more than a burst skill (30 adrenaline) and 1.5 times more than a 60 second cool down. the reason for this in two fold. First, a warrior can gain more than one adrenaline per second. Second, this allows me to be able to play around with traits which allow a warrior to proc a stance.
  • Increased Adrenaline pool on Rage skills. All rage skills now have adrenaline pools of 100 this allows. While this may seem high remember that adrenaline gain in berserk mode is greatly increased.
  • Blood Reckoning No longer provides a burst heal. Blood reckoning will only provide health based on how much damage you deal.
  • Increased Adrenaline pool of Berserk. Berserk now requires 100 adrenaline to activate. This is because I am removing the cool down on Berserk mode and making it purely based on adrenaline.
  • Reworked Adrenal healing. Adrenal healing is now called Vigorous and grants 351 healing every 3s while in combat. This is basically just simplifying the skill and separating it from adrenaline. The original skill does not work with Adrenaline Redone

just a couple switch eternal champion to melee only burst skills.
risk+reward, stability in their zerg is one thing, stability in your own using gunflame is another. Gunflame is on the most wanted nerf list so needs addressing.
King of fires is rubbish I barely notice the flame aura and overall feels like a mid-high level rune bonus.
Not the grandmaster of an elite skill, needs a re re work. My preference for it would be 25% burning duration, auto trigger incoming condition converted to +10 % burning dmg + duration, 10 secs with a 40 sec cooldown.
Can just about qualify as ‘king’ of fires then although I hear cries of op..

Alternatively if this is to similar to other traits, how about a base 25% but if you revive/rally you get +25% health +25% burning duration. switch the name to funeral pyre.

King of fires does have it’s place. As a burnzerker I use it all the time and am in love with it. Using it correctly is very difficult though. Basically It works best when you are throwing out many attacks. I can maintain a constant fire shield on my warrior and I detonate it every time i go berserk or use a primal burst skill. With the redesign of Berserk Redone, you will be able to make even better use of it because you will have access to three rage skills. which each can detonate the fire shield.

One thing to not about Berserker Redone. Berserker Redone gains a huge boost in aggressive damage potential at the cost of massive amounts of sustain. With Berserker Redone you no longer have access to Endure Pain or any other stances on demand. At the same time you will have three extra attacks and nearly constant access to your primal burst skills through Berserker.

This thread is pretty neat, and I absolutely adore the idea of making stances a profession mechanic, adding some actual flavor to the f[n] abilities and also letting warriors use… literally anything else for their utility slots. (It’s currently worse than the guardians tie to meditations pre-HoT.)

Oh and the juicy-esports counter play mechanics too! Warrior just burst attacked? Go in! He can’t pop endure pain now! Warrior popped balanced stance? Ignore them! They can’t burst attack!

And all while making the class more spicy and engaging for the warrior playing it too. A healthy idea.

Okay guys, If you ahve payed attention over the last few months you know i have not worked on Warrior Redone extensively. However, after the next update i plan on an overhaul which will pull the Rebuild inline with the newest changes and re-balance Adrenaline and associated Skills/Traits. Right now Warrior Redone will be moving all current changes into the change log while i clear the way for the new stuff.
