the specualted warrior changes:

Tremor: Increased projectile velocity by 33%.
Axe Chain: Moved the damage more towards the end of the chain without reducing overall DPS.
Chop: Reduced damage by 9%
Double Chop: Reduced damage by 12%.
Triple Chop: Reduced damage of the first two hits by 20%. Increased the damage on the final hit by 75%
Final Thrust: This skill has been moved to slot #3. Now does more damage and extra damage vs foes below 50%.
Hamstring: This skill has been moved to the end of the skill chain. Cripple reduced to 1s.
Savage Leap: This skill now applies 3s of cripple.
Leg Specialist: This trait now has an internal cooldown of 5 seconds.
Skull Crack: Increased stun duration from 1,1.5,2 to 1,2,3; Increased damage by 50%.
Endure Pain: Recharge reduced from 90 to 60.
Stomp: This ability now breaks stuns. Added 1s of stability. Reduced cooldown to 45 seconds.
Dolyak Signet: This is now an instant Stun Breaker.
Bolas: Reduced the aftercast by .3 seconds.
Kick: Doubled the damage.
Berserkers Stance: Increased recharge to 60 seconds. Reduced duration to 4 seconds. This stance now reduces incoming condition duration by 100%, so only modified conditions can get through.
Balanced Stance: This now also applies siwftness.
Dual Strike: Aftercast Reduced from .5s to .25s.
Whirling Axe: Aftercast reduced by .2 seconds.
Rush: Aftercast reduced by .2 seconds. Transition between the run and swing portion smoothed out for hitting moving targets.
Hammer Shock: Reduced the aftercast by .4 seconds.
Staggering Blow: Reduced the aftercast by .25 seconds.
Backbreaker: Reduced the aftercast by .25 seconds.
Crushing blow: Reduced the aftercast by .2 seconds.
Brutal Shot(rifle): Reduced the aftercast by .3 seconds.
Healing Signet: 20s->15s
Mending: 25s->20s
Adrenaline Surge: 30s -> 25s
Rampage: Reduced cooldown to 150 seconds.
Brutal shot(speargun): now adds 5 stacks of Vulnerability, up from1. Duration of Vulnerability applied changed from 15 seconds to 5.
Knot shot’s recharge has been reduced from 25 to 15.
Untraited Longbow range updated to 1000 from 900.
Riposte: If you block an attack from range, it no longer cancels the blocking.
Whirling Axe: Increased damage by 50%.
Fierce Blow: Reduced weakness duration to 4 seconds.
Pulverize: Reduced weakness duration to 4 seconds.

Balanced Stance doesn’t say how much swiftness given.

Final Thrust moved but no mention of the replacement to it.

Those are the biggest mistakes I found at first glance that screams fake. I’m sure there are more nice try whoever made it though.

Arms

Deep Strike: This trait now scales with level rather than granting a flat bonus.

Opportunist: This trait grants 10 seconds of fury when you immobilize a target. This effect can only occur once every 10 seconds.
Furious: This trait has been updated to indicate that triple adrenaline is rewarded on critical attacks.
Last Chance: This trait’s recharge has been reduced to 45 seconds, down from 60.

Defense

Defy Pain: The cooldown of this trait has been reduced from 90 seconds to 60. This trait will have a 4 second duration, 5 seconds when traited with Sure-Footed.
Vigorous Return: This trait now grants an additional 100% endurance when you rally.
Sundering Mace: Fixed a bug causing this trait to apply weakness on mace critical strikes.
Embrace the Pain: This trait has been merged into a new Master tier trait Cleansing Ire.
Cleansing Ire: New Master tier trait with the following effects. Gain adrenaline when hit. Remove a condition for every bar of adrenaline spent.
Shield Master: This trait has been moved to Adept tier.

Discipline

Warrior’s Sprint: Movement speed has been increased from 10% to 25%.
Sharpened Axes: This trait also reduces axe skills by 20% in addition to increasing adrenaline with axe critical hits.
Vigorous Focus: This trait has been moved to the Adept tier.
Destruction of the Empowered: This trait has been moved to the Master tier.
Heightened Focus: This trait has been moved into the Grandmaster tier and grants 5%, 10%, and 15% critical chance based on adrenaline level.

Strength

Physical Training: This trait has been moved to the Master tier.
Dual Wielding: This trait has been moved to the Adept tier.
Berserker’s Power: This trait has been moved into the Grandmaster tier. Damage bonus has been increased to 5%, 10%, and 15% based on adrenaline level.
Berserker’s Might: This trait now passively builds 2 strikes of adrenaline every three seconds, while they are in combat.
Distracting Strikes: This trait now applies 4 stacks of confusion for 8 seconds upon interrupting an enemy.

Tactics

Burning Arrows: This trait now reduces the recharge of longbow abilities by 20% in addition to dealing 10% bonus damage against burning foes.

No Sustain buffs, I suspect this is all falsity. We need buffs that heal us. No point in playing warrior over guardian now that our damage was cut down to be lower then theirs.

Reducing our heals cooldown by 5s won’t do anything.

I hope it’s fake… Although dual wielding will reduce the sting a bit since it’s more accessible. Overall though losing out on being able to have both adrenal skills on most builds, and moving axe mainhand damage towards the latter part of the chain is worrying.

I don’t feel like any of the other buffs make up for those changes. The sword mainhand is going to be stronger, but the autoattack chain may suck now depending on if hamstring damage is going to be improved.

Necros now right in line with the other classes. Warriors got some slight traits rework but still bottom of the trash. They made them slightly better in removing conditions but nerfed their damage in turn, thanks A-Net.
The long list of the changes is nothing but smoke and mirrors. Enjoy every other classes running circles around you and laughing at you everytime.

Could you explain how this is “quite a buff”? I can’t see any changes that’d address the major problems the class faces at the moment.

Well what is the main issue? That depends on who you ask.

If you go back 2 pages on the warrior forums certain people that are in this thread. Asked for damage nerfs to increase warriors sustainability so that it wasn’t so much go in do damage and have to run. The warrior notes to me seem to do that. 100% immune to conditions for 4 sec not traited. Remove condition on burst. Sword will be good hybrid weapon now with damage and a auto attack that can be traited to have a auto attack with immobilize savage leap gaining a cripple. Healing skills recharge reduced.

There are way more buffs there than nerfs. The biggest is the move of berskers power and hf both of which received buffs to the actual %.

I use Dolyak quite often on some of my Warrior builds. You do realize that your Heals will be better than a Necromancer’s heals right? Save Consume Conditions, which Adrenaline Surge would still be better if you keep some condition removal on the side. Also remember, that the Healing Signet can be reduced in CD 20%. So it’s definitely worth considering.

Whirl Finishers are jokes?… Really?

Sorry, 5 seconds off any heal is a huge buff. If you took 5 seconds off Troll Ungent I’d be able to handle more than just 3v1 on my Ranger.

I’d much rather have Desperate Power then Berserker’s Power with these new changes. DotE is now a master trait. You still have the 10% damage on bleeds so someone please explain to me how is this a damage nerf again? On top of the fact that you are no longer bound to keeping your adrenaline and now have other options for % damage that are viable and more accessible.

5 seconds shaved off from heals is pretty significant and I think is fair. Faster animation for hammers and if condition cleanse is done before the burst then bye bye completely missing burst because of blind.

Endure Pain 60 seconds? Hell yeah, incoming Endure Pain/Defy Pain builds. Even though we are still affected by conditions, mending is on a lesser cooldown and there is cleansing ire. And zerker’s stance.

Adding a cripple to savage leap and the auto-attack chain is nice. Savage Leap immobilize when traited? mmmmm. Final Thrust seems interesting will have to wait and see what they do there.

Decreasing longbow cooldowns seems awesome to me, Pin Down ftw. Last chance being reduced to 45 seconds seems cool for those burst type builds.

Not sure about the axe changes, but the 75% increased damage at the end of the chain is some serious spike damage.

Not sure how this is a nerf at all but the biggest question is will it change the sPvP/tPvP climate for warrior. That remains to be seen and can only be determined as people test and develop new builds.

I am disappointed however about the fact that they have not changed the minor traits for the tactics trait line. Axe mainhand skills are completely useless as well and it needs a rework, which makes the 20% cooldown reduction pretty useless. Of course assuming these patch notes are legit.

I can’t speak for the legitimacy of these rumors, if they are real it would mean that the Devs do actually read the forums, or more likely that someone ON the forums took ideas and made this list.

Stomp: I had suggested making it a stun breaker.
Dolyak: Same thing with making it a stun breaker.
Berserker’s Stance: I had suggested it make it cleanse a condition every surge so what’s on here is different but it does still deal with condition reduction.
Cleansing Ire: I had also suggested the creation of a perk that removes conditions per bar of adren used.

I am NOT taking credit for any of this, in fact I recognize so many changes that come from these forums that I think it is more likely to be fake and that someone went around picking up suggestions from the forums. If they are real that would be surprising.

On paper I like some of the moving-around that’s been done with the traits, but when you think about it a little it’s really a veiled nerf. Two of the +damage traits we take for granted are put into inaccessible GM slots while Desperate Power is swapped to make up for it, except that Desperate Power is only effective at low health (I suppose the devs know their audience well) whereas Berserker’s Might and Heightened Focus are pretty much always useful.

H focus is usefull but in pve it really isn’t needed hitting 90% crit chance is pretty usual without the trait at all and I think without it and just going for beserkers power would still be the stronger choice 30/25/0/0/15 would probably be most optimal now and really you only need 15 in disc for fast hands, I would’ve liked to see that as the lvl 5 minor trait but eh oh well.

@killa, desperate power isn’t that great at all in either PvE or PvP. Since being bursted from 50% hp can happen in many cases.

with my above and if all changes are correct you would be able to get dual wield slashing power and beserkers power on top of 300 power, and scholar runes would be another 10% which undermines desperate power.

Not really. Warriors and Guardians have totally different roles. I have NEVER lost a 1vs1 vs a Guardian. And if im loosing, i can run and he cant kite me I dont want to my Warrior to look like a kitten Guard.

I’m mostly a WvW type player that runs a tankier build so the renewed Desperate Power would actually be pretty good. Going from 50% HP to 0% doesn’t happen very often for me unless 3-4 people decide to blow every cooldown on me for some apparent reason. But in zerg vs zerg fights this can be useful. Even in PvP I don’t get bursted down that fast. It is only bad if you are a glass cannon.

You could go 30 in strength, but going that route kittens survivability alot while only putting 10 into tactics is such a minor investment which gives you alot of room to put other traits and not be a slave to adrenalineThis probably doesn’t matter in PvE and Desperate power probably sucks for PvE, but I am not a PvE player so I could really care less.

Then again, it does provide the opportunity for a really high greatsword burst build going 30/0/0/10/30 or something like that in PvP.

  • Huge Leg Specialist nerf; let’s explore how bad that 5s cooldown will be.

Greatsword’s blade trail won’t cc your target a second time on return. GG, target escapes.

Sword chain changes would have been amazing… with a cooldown on the immob, it’s only going to be amazing every 2 or 3 chains. For anyone who’s a bit slow on the uptake, new chain would be sever-gash-hamstring, which would be bleed-bleed-crip+immob… an amazing auto-attack chain. Spear does a similar thing already, as all the underwater leg specialists know… ;p

Potential to land an immob with Savage Leap is great, too bad the auto-attack chain’s immob will be hit by the cooldown… or vice versa of course.

Final Thrust sounds like a return to the GW1 version, which is sweet!

Riposte blocking ranged attacks for its full duration is amazing. A ranger can do similar on their greatsword and it’s huge for survival with the short cooldown.

So overall, more snares but Leg Specialist might be dead. GG… you were amazing while you lasted, especially on arrowcarts… RIP buddy.

  • Other weapons -

Axe auto looks nerfed hard. Who lands their 6th hit on anything but mobs? Otherwise, axe looks buffed.

Longbow is buffed. For axe and longbow burst, I want to know if the new cooldowns stack with the burst mastery cooldown for 40% off that weapon’s burst. We could be looking at 6s cooldown Eviscerates and Combustive Shots!

Dolyak and Balanced stance both look hot. Stomp could be the most lulz stun break in the game… I have to try this in WvW with the cooldown redux, which has been moved to 20 Str.

Condi gimmicks look like a joke. Except the cleanse on burst, which is hot.

  • Heals -

Just kidding, warriors don’t have heals. I can healsig myself for 3.5k every 12s now apparently, with a trait… while my ele can ether for 6k and lose all condis untraited.

Seriously, warriors need supplementary heals such as on burst. Healing shouts are still grandmaster deep into Tactics, which doesn’t even give any healing power… move them to Defense already and make those hammer warriors super happy. Tactics is boon focussed and could easily take Spiked Armor (retaliation), which if it was retal + regen… well, now we’re talking tactical grandmaster.

sword is definitely going to be good, with all these cripples and perma fury without the help of any utilities and adept dual wielding. and long range blocks and high damage final thrust. im going to love it. finally ill be able to use them swords again after i throw them away after using them to get my warrior to lv70 and realized how gs is so much better

They want us run sword/axe + longbow.
Savage Leap + Whirling Axe looks good. I hate GS, and no want be forced to play with it.
+25% mov spd (warrior sprint) and -20%cd of axe skills and extra adrenaline per hit… I liked

I run axe/warhorn + longbow all time (PvP, PvE and WvW), my dps was brutally nerfed :´(
Axe chain become useless, forces the play to land all 6 hits to get 100% dmg. And berserker stance become useless. This is ridiculous.
I hope this part be fake

If these devs really do intend to put Berserker’s Power and Heightened Focus in the Grandmaster trait, then you’re really asking warriors to be more glass-like than ever. Since a warrior without any of those two traits will do considerably less damage, it will ruin their title of DPS king in pve. Therefore making warriors having to max out either Strength and/or Discipline. If this is a ploy to get warriors to stop using Greatswords, then good job, it’ll be achieved. Reading the “supposed” patch list, it seems like they’re leaning towards the light-armor classes i.e. NECROS and mesmers. OT: Also, why make thieves more powerful than they already are. You devs are so one-sided it makes me sick. SICK!

How are thieves more powerful? They lost the permanent-stunbreak they had with the Sword 2, that’s the biggest nerf since EVER.

If these changes actually get added, I would be a very happy Warrior. I’d have to rework my build a bit (but lets be honest, theorycrafting Warrior is extremely fun). It’s nice to see the cooldowns on heals being shortened, as well as buffs on our utilities (Endure Pain <3). I don’t particularly agree with some of the changes with the swap-around on certain traits, but whatevs. But in reality, I don’t think this list is real haha. Oh well, with high hopes finally restored in me, Anet better not screw it up again in the upcoming patch.
