Surviving the Thief
Well so far I don’t have many problems against thief.. running dual axe/ rifle build here.
for utilities I have frenzy, berserker stance and endure pain.. 25k hp 3.2k atk 2.2k toughness
so what I do when I fight a thief would be just come up to them and spam auto atk.. my axe with sigil of air can crit thieves up to 2.2k and 1 swing pretty much hurt them..if they go invis just keep swinging. Endure pain is your best friend and if you use a shield, block will be your angel. those skill will save you from pesky pistol whip, backstab and heartseeker and not to mention with endure pain on you can still use auto atk so that is pretty much free 5 hit for you if you can hit it..
Just remember that thief disadvantage would be that they have no invulnerability and way less hp than warriors so if they go invis keep spamming that auto atk button.. if they try to kite you after you beat them then go use your rifle and see whos hp going down first.
If you can catch a thief off guard with this build… then its ez — signet of rage – berserker stance – frenzy and use your 2nd skill and spam auto atk and finish it fast with evisc..
thief can’t fight a warrior head on.. reason why most warriors are losing is bc they dont use their invulnerability carefully.
I sometimes change berserker stance to fear which is also work
good theifs are able to insta kill most ppl who arent paying attetion….i personally run sword/shield and hammer on switch…one thing about thiefs is they are very squishy…i just use shield block when they get close to get them to unstealth and block their high burst openers….shield stun them….switch to hammer and use hammer 5 ability…followed by hammer 4….if i have adren i use f1….havent seen many survive past the hammer 4 ability and none past f1 hammer ability
Shield stance or endure pain while they spam they’re heartseeker and leave them resource-less with no damage done.
I never used the warhorn on pvp so I cannot give any tips on that one. Yet here is what I normally do in pvp against thief.
I use a shield + mace or shield + sword and sometimes dual axe or sword/shield. I keep the rifle as my secondary but only to put enemies to bleed or shoot em if they try to run away.
I roll a toughness/vit/power build when I’m using my mace or condition damage/t/v when using the sword.
Now with my current build I have about 30.xk hp and a truck load of toughness I know is past 3.2k can’t remember the exact number. For the most part thiefs are a joke for me unless they outnumber me. I use the shouts heal trait so I keep my hp quite high all the time.
If they come with heart seeker they will see their initiative gone in no time and since heart seeker deals heavy damage only when your hp is down pass 30% i can easily dodge back so their spam continues getting them closer to me or I can simply block em with block stance, shout to remove any conditions and buff myself with FGJ, at this time using both get’s me about 3k hp back so yeah i am ready to deal with em, usually a rogue with no initiative will A) auto attack you which you can destroy or move around and try to escape, if needed switch to rifle bleed em and get em into melee again or keep shooting them until they die. You can shield bash them to interrupt their attack or stop em in melee a few moments or use mace #3 to do the same, bull rush, stomp many other utilities help as well depending on how you spec.
With sword in main hand is easier since you can bleed them and keep charging them as they move around.
Block stance is the key to deal with pistol whip and that shooting spam they do with guns, with my build they spam bullets and kill themselves due to missiles bouncing back at them. If they pistol whip with quicken my shield stance will block most or all of it depending on timing, thus making them die right after.
I could go on with strategies but honestly I need some sleep lol.
What poizie said. Hammer is really awesome against thieves, since you can keep them locked down while you beat the :::: out of them They usually initiate with huge burst and you should use ignore pain/shield block while they are doing so.
