I recently finished my HOTW gear (tough/vit/power) and am currently enjoying playing Dynasty Warriors with my hammer and sword/board.
I must say, it is quite grand to leap off a fortress and proceed to stunlock the living kitten out of everything :>
And then the invisible player bug happened ;x

Playing with the sword though (im mostly using it for the leap, and the immobile(traited) on 3) I was wondering about how everyone else perceives the mainhand sword.

I have a lot of power, so the swings seem to do decent damage. I was looking for another armor set to get, when I landed my eyes on the Twilight Arbor set. It has condition damage/vit/precision, and another set has condition damage/precision/power.

I would probably lean towards the vit/con/precision for increased survival+i think precision would land more sword crits for more bleeds…

But i was wondering how everyone is using their sword. I mostly play WvWvW, and I find a large amount of opportunities to get into 1v1 situations, ect.
Has anyone tried a sword condition oriented warrior?

Sword is meant to be used in a tanky condition build.. not power, you go condition/vitality/toughness.. you’ll be very hard to kill and 1vs1 you’ll do major bleed damage and will usually win. Warrior sword is the best condition damage in the game, save maybe confusion against skillspammers.

It’s best for 1vs1 situations, it is basically a dueling build.

The good thing about condition damage is you only need one stat for it, for power builds you need 3 stats (power/precision/critdamage as opposed to just condition).. so you can put the rest fully in vitality and toughness to be unkillable.

I do think warrior sword is probably one of the strongest builds in the game for 1vs1.

I use sword with precision trait line and berserker’s (mostly) gear. With the trait for extra damage to bleeding targets (25, not selectable) and the one for increased crit chance with a sword (plus fury, etc), it can actually do pretty good direct damage using bleeding sort of like a debuff and then just getting a lot of critical hits.

The power trait line adds condition duration though. I think you could make a viable bleed spec that used precision/condition damage and power/condition duration lines. You would be squishy in comparison to taking just precision/condition damage though since you wouldn’t be able to do much for defense.

Advice: Don’t go to deep into condition damage seeing as how many ways there are to remove conditions in the game. Go a healthy balanced between Power/Condition Damage in order to maximize your DPS under a number of circumstances.

I think I’m gonna avoid bleed builds for the time being and go with a Mace/Shield primary build. I just want something different than GS, and I really hate the warhorn aesthetic lol
