Sword WvW build?
I saw a nice video of a hammer warrior using sword shield in his off set hand. It’s cool to use it like that, it’s mot of a defensive/escape weapon then.
You can also use s/s condi build.
Quickblade Vince – Thief
The Asurnator – Elementalist
I’ve been running a sword/sword+hammer build for WvW roaming/camp taking, and have been enjoying it so far.
Sword grants solid mobility and decent damage (either through conditions or burst with final thrust) Shield is typically a more popular offhand choice than a second sword, but sword offhand does give you a ranged torment to help when being kited (that has a heavy-hitting melee side as well) and a parry with half the cooldown of shield block (more useful against ranged attacks, less useful -but does damage- against melee attacks)
I’d recommend using either a greatsword or sword/x for one of your sets in WvW, just for the mobility it grants you. S/S can be a fun backup for either a condi or power build. Try it out and see how you like it.

What traits / armor sets should you run if you want to try a S/X cond build?
In zerg WvW, sword/shield is nothing more than a escape weapon set. You jump in, switch to your damaging melee weapon set and GTFO with shield stance + Savage leap. It is also used as a chasing set because Shield bash and cripple is really strong.
4x Necromancer, 3x Mesmer, 4x Guardian, 4x Thief, 4 Revenant

Still waiting on the build – link to the full build would be appreciated.
Thanks.
The thing is, there are a handful of variants of a condi warrior. Well, they all tend to run S/S with a Longbow, that’s a given.
But for traits, you can go either 0/30/20/0/20 or 0/20/20/0/30. The former build tends to go with Rabid armor while grabbing Furious for good adrenaline regeneration. The latter is what you would do with Dire armor, since Furious is going to prove rather useless when your crit rate is crap. The traits that you pick are pretty obvious: Deep Cuts and either Blademaster or Opportunist in Arms, Dogged March and Cleansing Ire in Defense. The only trait of interest in Discipline is Burst Mastery, but you might want to look into Warrior’s Sprint, Vigorous Focus and Signet Mastery.
The sigils, runes and food that you pick is entirely up to you. Some people really like running Melandru with Lemongrass Poultry Soup for all the -condi duration%, whereas others will go for +condi% food or +bleed duration% runes to get to a total +100% duration on their bleeds. Some like running Sigil of Corruption for the +250 condi damage, others like grabbing Sigil of Earth for extra bleeds. Heck, Sigil of Agony is also an option, as that will push you over 100% condi duration with either the +40% food or +45% from runes.
Do remember that Sword MH isn’t a pure condi weapon. The autoattack chain has good speed and decent damage and Final Thrust at <50% HP is actually identical to a full adrenaline Eviscerate for damage. You can easily run Sword MH as a direct damage spec.

There’s a thread talking about condi warr here.

My build :
Goal : Mobility, Nearly perma cripple-immobilization and fury, Control on hammer, good tankiness with zerk trinkets
Good for both roam and zerg but kinda average.
Ich Bin Marc – Thief 80
All Your Dolyaks Are Belong To [Us] (Fort Ranik)
GS + S/Sh:
Bulls Charge -> 100b -> Shield Bash -> Final Thrust
or
Savage Leap -> Flurry (only for immob) -> 100b -> WW -> Bladetrail -> Shield Bash -> Final Thrust
Great nub combos.
