Guild Wars 2

I was wondering if anyone had tried a tank type warrior using mace/shield for one weapon set and either sword or axe/shield for 2nd weapon set with all superior signals of energy swap sets for endurance boost also to give a bit more utility such as the leap for sword or ranged attack w/axe without loosing the defense of the shield. You would want too use two shield to get the sigil effect when swapping. My build is a basic healing shout build w/cleric gear and soldier runes.

Depends if you go PvE, PvP, WvW

But if you go shield in both setups you’ll lose 2 skill slots. If you swap clever, you don’t ALWAYS need that extra thougness. So I wouldn’t go double shield.

You shouldn’t go this tanky in Pve, mostly 2.8k armor is enough especially if you go food buffs and some crit rate. The shout/heal build is mainly used in WvW. Because if you go solo, you’ll take ages to kill things.

If you want to be support for dungeon raids, drop the second shield and take something that deals a lot of dmg. When you get focused, switch to shield for defence, when you ain’t taking dmg, switch to dmg dealing set (axe-mace or greatsword). Also, the shout/heal build would work in groups if you have some damage dealers.
You’ll be healing them for around 2.2k/ shout.

Why you pick soldier runes, I don’t know. Because you wont get a lot of conditions on you in PvE. Double shake it off (one traited) would suffice imo.

You could go axe-warhorn as second set up too, to give more speed to your party and the ‘5’ gives you 2 extra dodge rolls.

These are all suggestions ofcourse, I don’t know what your party really needs, you have to pick what seems fit to you.
