Tanky Warrior?
As far as Vit goes a Warrior has quite a substantial base HP pool already and with our sustain boost recently Vit has just gone further down in value. A good balanced entry level set I can recommend is …
Shoulders, Gloves, Boots – Berserker
Helm, Chest, Legs – Knight
Trinket Slots – Cavalier (42k Karma each from Balthazar Temple Vendor) with Exquisite Ruby Jewels slotted.
What it gives you is a sizable amount of Damage Reduction with very little damage lost.
Edit – Fixed up some spelling.

(This is for WvW purposes – Roaming, 1on1 and mass blob fights)
I play a very tanky build with enough damage to actually kill people 1on1 aswell (this is important, because sacrificing too much damage will be boring to play – when you hit like a wet noodle)
I’ll give you a link to the build i use, i normally don’t do this but here goes:
Very high sustain/healing and enough damage to kill people – all the while you have enough mobility to pick and choose any fight you want or get away from!
Enjoy!
Oh right, I guess I missed the bit about trait setup.
Same weapon setup as Hasek but with a shift in emphasis to active mitigation rather than recovery.
I do swap Signet of Rage out for Battle Standard when running as part of a group in WvW though.

Thank you both, I really appreciate this!
Do you guys find that these builds you use would also work on PvE / Dungeons / Fractals? Or would it be totally insane? I guess it also depends which kind of a group you’re in too and what do they use.
Thanks in advance!
Also.. Although i am quite hard to kill now, rumors say that Vigorous Shouts will be buffed this tueday, upping the healing by 25% Base and increasing the coeffciency from Healing Power from 80% to 90% – So my build will be even more amazing!
Most dungeons are doable in full zerker armor with the emphasis realying completely on damage – So i wouldnt recommend it.
However, i like bringing support and sustain to dungeons and it seems Anet wants to do raids and harder world bosses, so the role of the sustain/tankier character, might come more into focus!
I cannot thank you guys enough for taking the time to help me on this! Time to change my build!
Cheers!
Just to add that warriors have really easy access to the fury boon which gives you a 20% increased critical chance. This means you don’t necessarily need to deck yourself out in gear with a lot of precision as you already can get a huge bonus from this boon and maintaining it (with skills like Signet of Rage / ‘For Great Justice’ / increased boon duration bonuses like the Tactics trait line and food buffs).
Using some gear in your setup like Cavaliers (Toughness/Power/Crit % bonus damage) & Valkyrie (Power/Vitality/Crit % bonus damage) can give you a nice extra defense buffer without sacrificing too much offensive power.

Space is completely spot on here! The fury boon is an essential part of the warriors arsenal.
To follow up on the boon duration in consideration to my build. I strongly advice to use Mango Pie food along with my build. Ups your healing/sec with about 70/80ish iirc.
Cheers and no problem.

Dunno why you’re being so secretive about such a common shout build lol.

25% of bad is still bad.
Well they have said numerous times now that they wanted to make Warrior sustain regen based. Boosting the shout heals is probably just an extension of that.
That said I do feel it’s the wrong avenue to follow. Higher access to the Weakness condition would give much the same effect without continuously boosting Warrior healing.

Turtle – Not being secretive, just don’t wanna sit around and defend, what i think is an awesome build all the time, because there is always people with other preferences.
Yaki – I am talking from a WvW perspective and i am nearly unkillable in a 1v1 situation as it is, while i maintain damage enough to kill people. This 25% buff is pretty darn sick and will make the shouts heal for 2000+ without any healing gear.
Put that on top of Mango Pie, Healing signet, high native HP and a good chunk of toughness – and you’ll be pretty darn hard to kill.
The patch is also rumored to give my build access to the warhorn trait in tier 1 which could be interesting.
Well Chaos, in my opinion i like the healing approach, putting Weakness on a thief constantly going in and out of stealth, evading and teleporting all over the place is going to be challenging.
That is true but while the thief is being evasive that’s less incoming damage anyway except in the case of a S/D thief, so it has much the same effect.
