HI, i dont know how many warriors are happy of the changes, all i know is that in this community there are soo much whiners (Daecollo, Albundy etc…) that Anet could think that everything that they do is wrong.
I want to say thank you for yesterday patch, i had so much fun in pvp with my warrior!
I really feel that every build that we had is now stronger, even if i was disappointed that the heals were not changed.
I tried a hybrid CC build hammer/GS with 0-0-30-10-30 and now the sustain/burst is way better, Cleansing Ire is soo good that i dont even need to watch my condition sometimes.
I tried a brutal glass cannon build GS/ Axe shield with 30-0-0-10(desperate power)-30 and i can say that the damage is higher now.
It was awesome to see something like 6/7 warriors is a 5v5 arena, everybody was playing his favorite class again!
Thank you Anet for what you’re doin, Guild Wars 2 is my favorite videogame ever and you’re doin a great work!

For my build the patch was kind of… mixed feelings. I say that because some of the things that were changed(adding Cleansing Ire) are nice, yet I had to drop Last stand to get it. So, I now have more condition removal, but I picked up more problems versus being CC’d. I lost Heightened focus, and since I use a longbow, warrior’s sprint would only be useful half of the time, so I just got Signet mastery. The duration of furious speed was a nice addition, that helps me keep sprint up instead of relying on SoR. The change to Berserker stance is kind of a toss up.. I mainly used it just to keep my longbow burst ability ready to be used, but with the 60sec cooldown and the fact that it only gives 2 strikes of adrenaline make it almost useless for keeping my adrenaline up and ready. I guess the condition thing is nice, but I would assume to just get signet of stamina that has a 36 cooldown(traited) or 45sec cd non-traited. At least that would remove all conditions. Unless berserker is removing them each pulsing tick of its duration? I’m not sure.
Of course, this is just going off of the build I was last using. Overall it seems like I have to sacrifice certain decent abilities for a new one. I’d rather be able to get rid of bad abilities or even be able to make new builds, but the way things were placed I’m not seeing that even happening. Maybe I’ll figure it out, who knows…..
We weren’t playing our favorite class in pvp we were just testing the waters with the new patch. After a few matches most of us realized that were still at the bottom of the pile and again shelved our warriors in pvp. That is all.
I’ve also been running a 0/0/30/10/30 since the patch, but with Hammer/Sword+Shield in WvW. It even gives you options before a particular fight if you want to swap your traits around. Nuking anything near squishy in 2-4 hits and have good durability, although no true sustain. I was really looking forward to that -5s CD on healing skills…maybe next time.
While I do think that the old half of Cleansing Ire is still the more useful part of the trait at this point, we’re on the right path to having a viable competitive warrior. My WvW options seem to have changed for the better as a more independent player and I like that.
To me, however, one of the biggest problems warrior faces in its current state is the highly telegraphed attacks. Final Thrust, while good spike damage in a melee, is very slow, much like any given hammer skill. The aftercast improvement is nice but the before is what makes the attacks unable to connect.

Yeah the real problem is that every skill we do is too easy to dodge, but that is never gonna be improved.

I had 2 Builds which got pretty screwed up!
One 30/0/30/0/10 – High Dmg/High Surviability Axe/Axe – Axe/Shield which is now not possible anymore as it was,
One 10/30/20/0/10 High Dmg Mega Burst Hammer / Sword-Shied, which also got destroyed …
but well… i found a new Build to toy with,… it’s also fun
I feel that this patch is a step in the right direction but I’m not sure we got enough sustainability for the amount of DPS that got taken away. Cleansing Ire looks good on paper but is kind of a joke and is completely useless against blind.
At least the patch made me finally give up on my Warrior, I guess that’s at least something to be thankful for.
I’m happy with most of the skill changes, especially Berserker Stance which finally makes it possible to rush though a crowd in wvw. I have mixed feelings about the traits. Some traits finally got the boost to make it out of the “not gonna use ever” zone. Brawn is finally useful… for Eviscerate and Earthshaker spammers at least. My primary concern however is still the build diversity. It went utterly wrong and made the amount of viable builds even more limited.
