Thick skin: 100 > 120 toughness
Warrior buffs confirmed.
Warrior buffs confirmed.
I’m loving the warhorn nerf.
The Dhuumfire thread
What are the changes for warrior?
These changes are so lack luster. Pretty disappointing…
Engi’s and Ele’s get super buffs, and warriors get slapped in the face
Ya, it’s just a wet noodle when Engineers and Eles are getting these buffs after buffs.
I love how the stream is took like 45 minutes on Engineers and took 10 on Warriors. Feels like ANET just doesn’t care about Warriors.

Someone really screwed the pooch on the warrior segment. No specific skill facts and they forgot an entire trait line and had to look it up.
That was sad. How do you just forget an entire traitline? The 2 hours of relentless Engineer buffs that followed didn’t exactly raise my spirits either.
And yeah, a practically useless trait now has +20 Toughness. Right. They don’t know what they’re doing, don’t care, or both.
Thick Skin: Changed from 100 toughness, to a whole 120 toughness. Wow. I’ve already got a long and mathy post on the subject right here, about why thick skin is useless: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/warrior/Can-we-just-toss-Thick-Skin-already/
Here’s a short and updated version
Damage = Weapon * power * skill coefficient / targets armor
Exo greatsword has a Weapon value of 1047. Assume 2400 power, and using Warrior Greatsword AutoAttack with a coeff of 0.7 (we’ll skip crits, traits, might, etc to keep it simple, because they dont change the outcome, they just speed up reaching it)
No Thick Skin = (1047 * 2400 * 0.7) / 3200 = 549 damage
100 Tgh Thick Skin = (1047 * 2400 * 0.7) / 3300 = 533 damage
120 Tgh Thick Skin = (1047 * 2400 * 0.7) / 3320 = 529 damage
Now, assume a big juicy 30k hp pool from a chunk of soldiers gear. The 90% threshold is from 27000 and up, meaning a 3,000 health window where Thick Skin applies.
So in 6 hits (529 × 6 = 3174) we’ll have lost thick skin. And it will have saved a grand total of…. drumroll …. 120 health! (549-529)x6)
That’s right, this trait adds 120 health worth of survival to someone with a 30,000 health pool. Or in other words, 0.004%.
OP, nerf inc.
The thick skin “buff” is a complete joke. Still not sure what to think about cleansing ire moving to grandmaster, but it doesn’t really matter, because everyone still has to take it regardless… as if it wasn’t mandatory before. It will be practically suicide to run without it and brawler’s recovery now that everyone is going to go ape over condi builds. At least they had the decency to move brawler’s recovery down to a major trait slot.
first 2k or greater hit and thick skin is useless once again with their extra 20 toughness points that they probably had to debate so much about if it was too much of a buff -_-
The warrior meta really is changing at quite an alarming rate with this recent buff. I think they need to slow down and listen to feedback before they proceed with any further changes.
why are you even playing warrior playerbase?
I don’t read “longbow” even once on this page! You’re doing something wrong. Those are just noobtrap traits meant to enhance the enjoyment of players that don’t play this class.

Listen to feedback ? Bursts in laughter
Don’t worry warriors, you’ll have an even easier time against necros now that they have no mobility and can basically kill themselves with just plague form.
As usual fun is a victim of overbalancing where it isn’t necessary
I think the devs pretty much operate on a system of taking everything they remotely dislike personal.
They’re also some of the worst for “listening to feedback.” I know it’s NCSoft basically at this point (look at what happened to Champions Online and how that went down so fast) but I’m spoiled after playing something made by Grinding Gear Games and having devs on a tiny lil’ 90’s-era sized team have time to post feedback responses and still be productive to the fullest
The thing that confuses me, is that it seems like the devs are fairly active in communicating with the community (at least compared to other games I’ve played). So with that in mind, how in the world do traits like Thick Skin even exist??
It’s laughably bad, it’s not fun, and there’s very little flavour. Players don’t like it or want it. This is evident in every thread where the trait comes up. I suspect the only people who are “okay” with it are people who don’t understand just how negligible the toughness is.
Meh.

thick skin is a useless trait
Mesmer is unfun to play against and does everything better than thieves.
Hoping those two get gutted with nerfs
Thick skin: 100 > 120 toughness
Yeah!! As if that will help. It would have been better if it worked something like : Gain 2sec resistance, when having 2 or more conditions on you(ICD 10sec). But i guess 120 toughness should do the trick…..

I still can’t believe they’ll revert an engineer skill on a whim, allowing them their 20s of swiftness every 20s, but they wont replace a useless trait, or any of the other constructive changes warriors have been asking for, for months.
