Thoughts on new WvW Frontline build!!
Anything over 3500 armor is overkill, I’d rather put some more vitality to deal with condi spam.
Keep in mind necro well of corruption and/or scepter auto will make dogged march’s regen into more condis
In your backline: Elementalist+Mesmer+Necromancer
That is….actually very good looking. I’m assuming incombat your party is granting you fury and other crit rate increases. You might wanna switch out “sigil of force” on the Gs for something different though. If you are lasting a long-time maybe an on-kill stack sigil (bloodlust or mbe perception if ur party doesn’t help with crit rate). Or something like sigil of leeching if you want more sustain or uptime before you need to use a healing ability or weaponswap/adrenalineuse to clear ur conditions. Speaking of which you could use sigil of cleansing as well if you really want to never worry about conditions again. Hydromancy is also an option that would likely (depending on ur playstyle) synergize well with the hammer.
And I recommend a night-time gear swap. So if you can, craft a separate hammer and/or gs you can swap in at night. In this case you could put sigil of night on ur hammer (replacing superior sigil of impact) and/or Gs (replacing force). No real reason not to put it on both at night, lets you go ham when the sun goes down.
Edit:
And i agree with infusion your hp pool is rather low. In layman’s terms it means you have less room for error with this build. I wouldn’t say you need to have more hp….I would just say that this isn’t a casual friendly build. Its combative and aggressive, you can’t laze around when fighting you gotta go 100% all the time. You have to be ‘on the ball’ when dealing with heavy condition users, your clears are based on your combat skills (weapon swap/using ur burst) rather than just pressing a weapon at any time to proc berserker stance/resistance. If you want to have a less punishing variant then increase your hp pool and decrease your armour pool, otherwise prepare to play and win like a warrior should!
You might consider, if you haven’t already, trying out healing signet with this build instead. It really depends on the kind of party you have…..but healing signet ‘might’ work better than defiant stance does. Or defiant stance might work better than healing signet does….its really dependent on your party so its worth trying both out and deciding.

What armor threshold do you think is good but not overkill? Only asking because Warriors have natural high health and I’d prefer to have more toughness since conditions aren’t of much threat in a big group that is constantly cleansing.

Thanks! Yeah I am relying on fury uptime to get me to the 50% crit rate threshold. I was thinking sigil of cleansing as well, which would synergize with the Brawler’s Recovery trait and remove two conditions on weapon swap instead of two. Also that night sigil is a good idea haha I’ll have to try that actually!

20K HP isn’t that much actually
> 3500 armor you have diminishing returns
3300-3500 armor, ~23K+ HP
You could probably swap helm+shoulder+boot (or rings/accessories) + weapon to marauder / nomad for a quick and easy change

You could try sigil of absorption and draining on the hammer, if ur front line Zerg busting, ur bound to interrupt something with those CCs on hammer to leech life, and rip boons. I was skeptical using it on my hammer with all the stability at first, but like I said, in a Zerg someone’s usually getting interrupted
Mathematical DR doesn’t exist. Only DR by means of opportunity cost.
That being said, a little less toughness and more vit would certainly be better. A good rule of thumb is keeping Armor and Health in a 1:10 ratio.
Before i quit raiding i ran something like this

Found it had decent sustain and damage output. Traits, utils and sigils are obviously down to choice / based on what you’re fighting.
