Tips for a new warrior.
anyone? please?
Sword is condition, Axe is damage, mace is control.
Greatsword is damage, Hammer is damage/control.
Rifle is single target, Longbow has conditions and is AoE.
Depends on how you plan on playing the warrior. I play mine as a tank, and have had a blast with it. My usual set is sword and board with a rifle in my alt weapon set. For utility skills, I use the Dolyak Signet, Bulls charge, Shake it off, and my racial Hounds of Balthazar.
Ryloc Arcanum- Elementalist
[Fat Lute Tavern]-Sorrows Furnace
I play completely as a shout utility warrior. My shouts heal, and I use sword/horn and rifle. My job is to bleed everything and keep debuffs off my friends and convert them to boons, while being able to survive if a graveyard zerg seems to be the new tactic. I’m specced 0/25/15/30/0. It’s a weird build I’ve never seen anywhere, but with my group it’s amazing. We’ve four manned all the dungeons together.
To better answer your question: Play around. See who you play with, and see what works best with them and what is fun for you.

First off, regarding ANYTHING, you should know that it all depends on how you want to play and where you want to play.
Obviously, some builds that are viable and nice in PvE and dungeoning will not necessarily translate well into PvP / WvW.
The basic use for every weapon is the following:
Sword- Bleeds, gap closer and snare. more bleeds with offhand sword. (Sword autoattack chain actually does LOTS more damage than people give credit to, it’s a viable option in a power build as well)
Axe- Damage, damage, damage damage and a snare. More damage. Direct damage.
Mace- Defensive\ control on MH, vulnerability\control on OH.
GS- Damage damage damage, snare gap closers damage damage. Generally regarded as Easy Mode thanks to the nature of the weapon.
Hammer- Control weapon with nice damage, debuff (weakness) and an AWESOME snare. (cone aoe)
Shield- A stun and a block to all attacks for 3 secs. So some control and mainly a “oh shi-” button.
Warhorn- Support\buffs. Traited, it is epic.
Longbow- Fiery conditions of fiery goodness. AoE and burning fires.
Rifle- Single target damage, lil bit of bleeds.
I’d recommend playing around with all the weapons seeing what you like, cause honestly, most combinations can be made to work.
Biggest tip: MOBILITY, always have mobility and CONDITION REMOVAL.
Other than that, feel free to drop me a whisper in game, character name is “Raghnall Scarskin”.

Instead of asking for tips… do some research. I spend about 2-3 hours a week just reading and watching videos about warriors and thieves. I’m constantly learning everyday to max out my game play.
I make guides for public, but no one seems to reply to bump them for new comers.
Regardless, Keep searching forums, there are lots of information (explained in detail) lying around
:) thanks for some tips
I’d say Sword is direct damage with a nice side-serving of Bleed.
Compare it to Scepter for Necromancers – that’s a weapon that does 0 real damage and all about Conditions. Sword does do nice direct damage in addition to the Bleed. Not as much as Axe, obviously, but enough so for it to not only be called a Condition weapon.
Do you even lift, bro?
