Tournament picks: Warrior/Thief? Discussion
The same reason every other class gets picked first instead of warrior. They bring more to the table with less hassle.

Chain Stun helps the team. Forcing out stun-breaks is easier. People with no stun breaks are easy to kill. Pistol Whip Thief can’t compare to a legit juggle Warrior build. Thieves however are better at finishing people off with or without stun breaks at 50% HP simply because it is their job.
Also stability is too important. Something that makes Thieves unforgiving at high level play is their lack of stability. A random fear mark from a Necro or some CC from Guardians can really make it annoying for Thieves.

Did they directly say a warrior buff? Because we waited patch after patch for a change and all we got was underwater speargun buffs and 10% damage to lb auto attacks.
I’d prefer a direct warrior buff instead of nerfs to other classes.
edit: actually after watching the video i’m even less convinced warrior will get a buff. They admit that warrior seems OP to noobs (100b + frenzy) but is complete garbage in competitive games, and that they don’t know how to buff warrior at the top level without completely destroying the casual player base.
I don’t see any buffs coming tbh lol……..

JonPeters regarding Warrior:
See Irelia from LoL and Terran from SC2. He likes to compare Warrior to Yi but he just mentioned Warrior potential is the same as Terran from SC2 (Which is no different from Irelia).
Personally, don’t care about what happens. I’d rather have them revert the discipline tree back to 30% burst damage considering back then compared to now, 10k Eviscerate on squishies is balanced. I mean when you look at Mesmer who can just pop invulnerability every 45 seconds and Engis spamming blind randomly so they don’t get stunned, they might as well revert that 30% burst damage from Discipline back.
That or rework + buff tactics tree and defense tree so my proto-type bunker build would be viable already.
OR they can just nerf to balance ya know, but that wouldn’t be fun. Who wants to take effort to be viable much like Warrior mains anyways?

I was happy to find out that they are aware there is a problem with the class. I’m just hoping they can find the correct solution. Their balancing policy lets me know it won’t be a massive overhaul, but I will be happy if it’s at least an effective change.

Gaurdian is Defensive Tank, Warrior is the Offensive tank however, let me explain that. Gaurdian is supposed to be purely DEFENSE and the Warrior is the OFFENSIVE counterpart but as things stand now the Gaurdian currently nearly matches the warrior’s damage output but has much higher survivability the warrior falls into a shadow zone, fully offense it does not nearly have the damage it should have, bull’s charge + frenzy + 100b is currently the only really DPS build we have, for PvE the warrior works fine, but in PvP however, I often feel more like gap filler then anything else, Using “Fear Me” as CC / Team Support and BC+F+100b taking down squishies fast. Yet still….warriors need;
A) Trait line overhaul. (Seriously, some nodes are absolutely useless!)
B) More viable weapon builds for DPS
C) Make us more competative in PvP situations.
Warrior mechanics work fine, I am enjoying my warrior, however he just “feels” really weak for an Offensive class… but as I stated “Feels”, it could be just me

And there’s your problem, you’re sticking to the low skill level standard. Until you actually learn to land HB other than Bulls Charge or actually learn how to chain stun while dealing DPS in general, then you won’t find the real problem.
I’ll simply say JonPeters is half wrong and half right. You shouldn’t over-buff warrior just because casuals can’t play it. But the adrenaline system isn’t aggressive enough, and the traits are stupidly misleading. The traits should provide some kind of guide, but at this moment it doesn’t. Adrenaline should just fill up easy like initiative because not having adrenaline at crucial times is frustrating.

Warriors are really powerful in tPvP if you’re good at it… It’s simply harder to be truely good at than say a thief or ele.
