Guild Wars 2

I feel like this is more user error than bug, so I hesitate to post it in the bug sticky.

I have had GW2 for quite a while, stopped playing for a while, and then recently bought the expansion. Apparently, whatever I had done prior to the expansion had warranted me 13 mastery points? And also some points towards my Elite Specialization.

Here comes my problem,

The first unlock for Warrior is

(CONTENT SPOILER, SORRY CANT GET SPOILER TAG WORKING)

the ability to wield Torches. I have unlocked this, and got a torch in a chest from something or other that’s better than what I have, but I am still unable to equip it.

Is this something I must select a specific path to be able to use? Or am I just missing something?

Do you have berserker specialization equipped?

What TheBravery said, you need to have the Elite Specialization slotted as the “Weapon-Wielding” unlock is considered one of your traits, so you need to have the traitline.
