Yak’s Bend(TWIN) Racist against Sylvari

I’m not entirely sold on Berserker. It’s impossible for me to drop either Defense and Discipline, the traits are just too good, and I still don’t feel Berserkers line is better than Strength, especially for GS users. What am I missing that makes Berserker so much better? Or is it just because it’s new and shiny?
Discipline:
>Adrenaline on wep swap
>25% run speed
>Fast hands
>Condi clear on wep swap
>HF or BM, both great traits and 15% burst recharge
Defense:
>Thick skin
>SM or DM
>Adrenal Health
>Defy pain
>RR or CI
Strength:
>Dmg on dodge
>Forceful GS 10% dmg and reduced CD (clutch)
>10% dmg when endurance not full
>Berserker’s power extra 20% dmg
I know that Head butt is amazing, and so are skills like Outrage break, but, is it really worth losing 40% damage?
Any thoughts or insight would be appreciated.
Berserker > Strength
Why?
Well strength maby give around 30-40% more dmg, but allot of that dmg you get back also while using berserker traitline. + berserker gives:
-Better burst skills
-More use of burst skills (more CI also)
-Less use of adrenaline
-Better utilities like Head butt (insane good in 1v1)
-Pretty good stability (so you can drop 1 utility for something else)
Also GS is often used as second weapon for the mobility and cleaving on dead while your main weapon (lets say rifle or axe) is used for the dmg part and pressure..
I know that its hard to drop the GS trait.. but that -20% cooldown reduction is something you hardly miss in the end..
So do you want little bit more dmg or more utility? > berserker
So do most people pick Eternal Champion for the stability or Bloody Roar for the damage?
Does berserker work better with condi damage or with real damage? (talking www obviously)
I’ve seen some condi zerk vids, they seem to put a serious hurting on people, especially with mace.
Arc Divider also has 3x more range than Arcing Slice, so if you’re just comparing greatsword you can spam your burst and hit way more targets.
Gunflame is also superior to Kill Shot builds, Outrage and Headbutt synergize well with Rousing Resiliance, and you get a few condi builds out of it too (one for pve, and one for pvp/wvw; though I’ve not played them myself and can’t comment on relative effectiveness).
That said, I personally find vanilla warrior usable as a roamer. It’s what I run.

PVP? well 100% stability for me…..
PVE > dmg
Do most people use a stun break to get out the headbutt stun or do they just wait for the stun to wear off? I’m assuming simply coming out of it doesn’t activate RR?
Berserker is better purely because it contains the single “unfair” move in the Warr’s repertoire, Gun Flame. Everything about baseline Warr is too telegraphed, too slow, too clunky to use to be competitive with all the other classes’ BS.

I’ve never had an issue solo roaming in wvw, but spvp is a nightmare.
I am on the fence with this myself. For a killshot build, Gunflame is a no brainer win. The quickness + interrupt on gunflame = amazing. Bloody roar works well with it as well to provide boost to damage.
That said, for a standard axe/shield + gs build, I am very torn. I personally in lower ranks (amber/emerald) seem to be performing better with str than berserker.
Berserker burst skills are generally lower damage (though better in other ways. For example, axe will hit harder in non berserker mode, but the leap is significantly better and more likely to hit in berserker.)
I’ve also been experimenting in unranked with a condi build instead, but to get the proper traits I need to drop discipline which makes me slightly concerned for both movement speed and condi clear.
I’m also unsure how adrenal health works with berserker when in berserk mode. Is it considered level 3 the entire time? Is it lowered when you use your adrenaline? Since when in berserk mode you only have to fill 10 adrenaline, it’s a bit confusing.
I really wish some of the regular animations had the primal animations, like Skull crack with the primal mace skill, OH EM GEE
I went back from beserker to vanilla.
Thing is, warrior isnt the strongest class nor strongest 1v1 dueler.
Yes gunflame is fun and powerfull. I was enjoying the nummers I saw.
On the other hand, decent players can easy counter gunflame.
I have more succes with other builds that has a bit more sustain instead of going yolo all or nothing beserker. Even do its fun to play with high risk high reward builds now and then.
Berserker rules for a condi build, especially since many classes dont expect the sheer amount of burns and bleeds a condi warr will put out. Won many 2v1’s because of the cleave nature of the condis as well.
Last blaze and king of fires with shattering blow gives a ton of burn and bleed with a quick combo leap to get a fire aura.
A sword torch and a distracting strikes/body blow build with mace shield is pretty phenomenal, i rip apart many classes in a 1v1 (especially reapers and DH) and in group situations focusing the most threatening class is a good way to turn the tides.
Do not underestimate the lockdown potential of a mace shield berserker with distracting strikes. A good warr can chain together stuns and dazes to effectively shutdown most classes without lots of stability.
Depends on build, for condi berserker’s good. For power, I only know of rifle being better with berserker, rest vanilla > berserker.
It depends on what type of wvw you are playing.
If we are talking about zerg, big group play, team support, then vanilla warrior is way better than berserker. The “HoT” classes are often overrated in wvw and sometimes used in the wrong situations.

Isn’t gunflame more effective for big group stuff than anything vanilla warrior has to offer? I mean, I don’t spend a lot of time in big groups, but when I do, there’s always scrubs in the mid-back spamming gunflame from safety.
