Q:
Vengance and Sweet Revenge
A:
i’ve noticed vengance does not work on the mobs that are summoned by other mobs, and i noticed that in AC, the example you gave is what i experience.
the little ones that are NOT summoned trigger vengance, the ones that are summoned don’t.
it might be intended by design.
I think the game makesdifferences what mobs you need to kill to remove vengeance.
For instance the very small iceelementals at the claw of Jowmag fight dont count, same as some yellow objects (burrows in AC) but other yellow objects work (crystals in FZ1 Endboss)
As a rule of thumb most “swarm enemies” do not count like those small gravelings or iceelementals
I can understand why they made this. because you shall not onehit a trashmob and get rezzed instantly… I can agree with that however they should have made it so that killing those swarm monsters have a very small chance to drop vengeance so you need to kill many of them to drop vengeance.

Yeah, I looked more into Vengance on the wiki and the third bullet point in the Notes sections says exactly what you’ve seen in game. Weak summoned monsters do not remove Vengance.

Thanks for the help!
What’s even more funny than killing a silver monster in Arah and still not rallying (traited)?
General rule (there are exceptions of course) is if the monster gives you XP, it can count for Vengeance or Sweet Vengeance.
Hmm, am I confusing Vengeance for Rally?
I figure whatever can rally you can count for Sweet Vengeance and I know those gravelings have rally’ed me before. On path 3, I’ve been rally’ed to death on more than one occasion :P
You will be happy to know that in pvp u can rally off rock dogs and necro minions, but not thieves guild summons. or clones.

That’s the other form of the general rule. If you can Rally off of it, Vengeance can proc off of it.
IMO, whatever can rally you SHOULD count for Sweet Revenge. But it doesn’t.
This aggravates me especially in dungeons where there are endless mob spawns, which are not weak creatures and are intended to kill you. For example, Sweet Revenge should trigger off of dredge in the Underground Fractal—certainly at least in the button switching room.
Without any chance for Vengeance to result in a rally, the warrior’s downed state is a joke.
I hate both these skills. Sweet Revenge is just bad it never works when I need it to. And vengeance is only good if you can finish what you need to do before you go down again which happens very rarely.
The information in this thread is correct. I just wanted to concur that Sweet Revenge IS bugged as I have encountered numerous mobs in the world and instanced environments that are not spawned but I have not been able to Sweet Revenge off. I have been the only person to damage a mob, kill it and still died.
As I do now, I recommend you submit a bug report each time this happens. Its annoying but honestly Sweet Revenge does not work more often than it does work for me and it needs to be addressed.
