Hi there folks!

It’s been awhile since i’ve played/made a video due to some IRL circumstances. However this past week i was able to experience the first round of the Silver League in WvW aswell as the changes that have been applied to the Warrior as of 15 October.

I have, for a long time, wanted to redo the build that I used in my first video. The Hammer and Sword/Shield combination. This has nothing to do with the fact that Hammer is the current Meta for the Warrior. It has simply always been my favorite weapon of choice.

I must say with the current changes to the Warrior that in the right hands its quite overpowered in some ways. This is solely in a 1v1 perspective and it is simply my own opinion.

I usually like to put in clips where I lose/die after a good struggle or fight but unfortunately (not to brag at all lol) I haven’t found myself really finding any of these fights. Does this relate to my opinion of Warrior being OP atm? Perhaps.

Op, nice video and i also agree with everything you said. I also, i can see where the hammer is Op as well; your enemies had no chance of stopping you.

I edited my post to make it more clear why I consider the warrior OP in it’s current state. In a 1v1 perspective it definitely is OP, denying that takes away the credibility of your opinion. It is simply a combination of very powerful passives through trait lines and utilities along with it being the most straightforward and relatively easy to play class currently.

I can see why people find this video boring or bad. I think the footage is too concealed by the sheer regen that my warrior currently possesses aswell as my high armor to make it seem interesting as i’ve noticed that i barely fall under 90% hp throughout the video. This is also why I stated in my initial post that i was not able to find any clips throughout the week of me having any difficulties in fights. This is running OBS for 2 hours straight per day.

It may be true that the majority of the people do not dodge my CC in time or at all but I don’t think that it’s a case of them being bad or not in the situations seen in the montage. I usually do a short kite-away from my enemies and drop back with an earthshaker. 9/10 times this takes a person completely by surprise regardless of how good a player is. Not running stability or stun breaks is a build problem, it does not indicate any signs of a player being bad, just that his build is not prepared for the current hammer meta. In any case, the weapon combination i choose has so many options and opportunities to CC someone that i don’t believe any class could bring enough stability or breaks with the exception of another warrior or guardian. These fights may become stalemate yes, and I suppose it was a mistake on my part to add such clips into the montage.

Don’t believe i ran from any 1v2, with the exception of 1 clip where I kited a 1v3 till the downed mesmer came back xd. Can’t see the whole clip as i broke it down and fast forwarded it, but they chased me throughout the entire lake to the swamp part. Thats when the mesmer jumped back in and i could re-engage safely.

As said above, i’m running high armor and regen. 3 people at the same time adds up quickly in damage to a point where my regen cannot keep up. Hence why I kite or “run” away to reset the fight and wait for a better opportunity.

Anyways I can see why this video is disliked this much and I have learned from it. The next montage will hopefully be better. Thanks for taking the time to watch it in any case folks.

I’ve come to the conclusion that all the people who used to play thieves, now play warriors. The blind defense I hear about Hammer and health regen being balanced and other people needing to L2P is exactly the same as when steal traited with ‘mug’ could hit for 6-8k damage, followed by backstabs for 12-16k.

Even a warrior admitted he thinks the warrior is opd at the moment, and other warriors claim it’s because he’s fighting baddies in his videos.

People are just downvoting you because of your opinion. I wouldn’t say it’s something which is over the top OP since a bad hammer warrior is still going to lose fights to a good player, but it is very strong and perhaps too strong.

The combination of damage, control, and sustain is going to be a problem for equally-matched opponents. This is really the first MMO I’ve seen make control abilities hit like a truck. Most games balance control by making the attacks that initiate that control do low to mid damage.

That said, every player should have a build that can counter your first CC chain. It’s understandable if you catch some guy coming off of another fight with his cooldowns gone but what happened to Ostrich there should never happen to a good player with his cooldowns up.

The problem is what happens after your first attacks get countered. The amount of stuns you can put out will eventually override the amount of stabilitity, evades, and other counters that the opponent has. That might be balanced if you were squishier. What people don’t realize is how much health you are regening while the other guy is either stunned, evading, or using other defensive abilities to keep from getting caught in a stun chain. The punishment for getting caught in the CC chain is pretty severe for something that can be done a lot over a relatively short period of time.

Anyway, that mainly applies to 1v1s. It’s much more balanced for 5v5s since focus fire can override the healing signet.

Yeah, cause warrior were so unpopular before… One warrior claim it to be OP, it must be true and any hammer warrior who loses must be baddies. Your logic is flawless like a hammer warrior.

When u use it right hammer war becomes god tier.
That’s how insanely strong (if not OP) is an hammer warrior in WvW.

I don’t get why so much hate on the video. The guy plays his hammer war pretty good, maybe most of his opponents weren’t exactly the best players out there, but anyway.
