I just installed Bandicam today (9/4/13) and made a video with two engy friends and threw some music on it.. .its not edited at all .. just some stuff that happend today and I wanted to post it. Please feel free to critique me or flame me or ask me questions or tell me your favorite cookies. I will continue to update this thread as more interesting things happen to me on my warrior. I love the combination of hoelbrak runes lemongrass food and dogged march. Snares just fall off of me. And mobility is paramount to me as you can see in the video I move around a ton.
It turns out that I am really starting to love this film editing and movie making stuff. I’m pretty sure I will continue to make more videos and hopefully they get better in quality as I learn how to edit.

Good small fights. Are there two SF guilds on JQ? The one I am familiar with zergs mostly. If that is your guild, I am super glad you guys have some small roaming stuff going on.
One piece of constructive criticism: save that Endure Pain for when you need it.
Thanks Boulderbolg. I’m a fan of lots of your guilds stuff. My guild is the same SF that you know but I’m usually not online during their prime time so I don’t get to run with the main force much. Also I see your point about endure pain but ever since they lowered the cooldown on it I just love to pop it early and often. Anytime I feel like I’m getting focused I just hit it and the focus suddenly changes.

I run a GS-S/SW build with heavy regen and shouts. Kinda want to try this build with GS/Hammer. Reminds me of back in the day when i ran hammer and sword/shield with perma swiftness.

If i could provide one little tip: if you could do autocast on point instead of click, that would be a skill +1. Takes some practice but once you get used to it it will make you less predictable. Also, souldbinding sheathe/unsheathe weapon and using it when you expect your attack to miss, can save you useful cd time.

I’m not sure what you mean by the autocast on point instead of click… please explain further. And you are so right about that sheath weapon… the keybind it is on currently I just can’t reach it well and still have not found a great place to put it yet.
Autocast/smartcast is a feature that allows you to instant cast your ability on your cursor without clicking, just press the skill key and it casts on your cursor !
I used it a lot in LoL but I’m not experienced enough for now to use it in GW²… it saves you a lot of time, you get less predictible and better reflexes. But it’s a pain in the kitten at the beginning.

I think those are very good choices and some people really prefer the signets to the stances. It’s pretty much just a personal preference thing… you see I like to front load immunity to conditions and endure pain to push in fast heavy damage while being undamageable to make the weak hearts scatter…. that’s why I enjoy the stances over the signets… that being said the signets are still great.
I’ve been really resisting participating in this sort of meta, but it’s getting to the point where it’s almost necessary to run such builds to keep up with expectations.

Most of the video was running away from a fight then running back then running away..then running back… I’m not sure if the definition of skill for warrior players these days is running away half the time.
It’s scary seeing all the old forum posters/old players/ good players quit the game.
And now newcomers are congratulating each other on this stuff >.>. I guess Anet’s plan is to survive on new blood while forcing the old to quit due to non competitive wvw/spvp.

That’s not a broken mechanic, it’s a perk for being thief. If you take away all reasons to be a thief, then there is no reason to be a thief anymore.

It can be fun if you’re solo roaming. If you’re a bunker you won’t be focused at all, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you’re helping your team a lot. It just means all your teammates die first then they focus on you. On the other hand, if you’re a glass cannon, you need to be able to get away from being focused for a moment because they will focus you first.
I actually play a regen bunker war in sPvP so I know first hand that never dying doesn’t mean you contribute the most to a team. My thief is more of a glass cannon with no sustain so I disengage/re-engage a lot more while my warrior can more or less stand in the midst of it all and take the punishment as well as being able to disengage if I want.

Never said it took skill, but it’s clearly a warrior strength.

Thanks for watching… In my own defense the way that my little group works is when one of us gets focused they disengage to change the focus so the other can wreck more havoc. We never stay in long. I am mostly there for a quick CC and burst and as a target location for the engies to drop grenades. I certainly don’t think I am some kind of super warrior I just thought it was a fun situation to watch…. but all that winning we did is all because of the synergy I have with those killer engies.
The build is made to heal out of combat. Not to heal with healing signet.
When you need to you can disengage and get out of combat for the heal then run back in.
The team knows it as well so it is not a surprise when a warrior GS 3 →5 to get out of combat and come back full health.
Wilson’s build is not a bunker by any means. It is a hit and run build that can effectively harass larger groups. Full Zerk for fast kills with lots of mobility.
The last few comments seem to be people who dont understand this build or are holding onto triple axes or some other ridiculous build of last year.

For someone claiming to speak on what the “online gaming community” consists of.. its pretty obvious you don’t play much PvP in this game. Please show us your videos of you playing a glass cannon and staying in a close proximity fight outnumbered without disengaging and winning.

Don’t get my wrong, really like your play style and that but at the start you mock a warrior for running away once the fight was not going well for him…but then in the very next scene you run away also until the fight is in your favour again seems a bit strange.

Go watch it again and you will see the difference. Here is a clue…, the oPP warrior runs off when his mates are still up and the fights are all to play for. His friends all die. He does this three times in that video that I count. Whereas Wilson beats a tactical retreat taking a circular route to keep the enemy close when outnumbered (he was the last one of his team left alive) while he waits for his friends to run back and then they clean house again.
Wilson, nice build and nice skills. Good videos. Enjoyed watching them.

You ever stop and to think maybeeeeeeee my team told me to keep going in mumble, cause they were getting wiped from an outnumbered fight? I did not have War banner at the time and resing someone with 5 people ready to cleave you is impossible. If you looked closely I had my camera pan’d behind me the entire time i backed off to see if I can find an opportunity to jump in again or punish over extenders, which in that case did happen when the thief in his party followed me halfway down the the map only to get instant killed from 100% with one hammer combo >_>.

Unfortunately I joined the Melandru/Lemongrass train last night : [ Too many Necros to fight in small roaming groups now, maybe after the patch i’ll go back to Svanir T_T, works good in spvp, still troll hard with rune of svanir + shield block + endure pain with all the passive healing.
and yea I /cheer on ppl all the time, cause its hard sometimes finding small fights in wvw so when I /cheer on ppl a lot of the times they come after me so I get more fights : P If you ask anyone from my guild, Im actually one of the nicest ppl that play lol.

Yes I did cross my mind of course. You are a single guild havoc unit who is no doubt in voice comms. Of course, I only have Wilson’s view to base it on and the editing of selected fights with that as well. I do not have your camera view as a 2nd point of view. From Wilsons side it looked like there were even numbers on both sides and you put on your nikes three times
Fair enough, thanks for your side. Always good to get both perspectives. As for the JQQ stuff, well I expected better really. Thats so old it has moss growing on it. I can see you like to troll but don’t have the skillz if thats the best you have. Loot bags, meh. If you don’t die sometimes you are not doing it right. I give loot bags and receive them. Hopefully the latter outweighs the former by a good margin.
Anyway, see you on the battlefield. We are all nice people of course but forums and PvP turn us to the dark side
ROFL … what is that doing over there…? I hope those guardians don’t think a warrior is better for a group than a guardian just because of huge CC and damage. In fact a guardian has the power to completely negate my warrior’s damage for his whole group.
