Vitality vs Precision
Do you even lift, bro?
I am assuming that you want dungeons/pve. I never played PvP and I only use my PvE build for WvW.
I suggest the Knight gear more than the Soldier gear. Vit isn’t really that necessary due to high hp. Vit is a great defense against condition damage but not great against raw damage. Precision is great for increasing your chance to crit. Therefore giving you access to % chance to proc on crit and more damage.
If you have condition removal, go for knight armor.
If not, use your current armor.
4x Necromancer, 3x Mesmer, 4x Guardian, 4x Thief, 4 Revenant
PvE and the occasional WvW. Like you, I don’t change my build for when I go WvW.
Condition removal is where I shine; I run a Shout build with Soldier runes.
I also have a lovely baker lady turning my Omnomberries into Pies (300-ish Health on crit, no cooldown) so technically more Precision=more Healing.

You should know one thing is knight’s give more toughness than solder’s while solder’s give more power than knight. Also, the power + precision from knight give more dps than the larger power from soldier overall.
IMO a Warrior does not need P/T/V The change increase in HP (and therefore, survivability) is relatively low to the %change increase in DPS when you opt for Knight’s. If you don’t go Knight’s you would be losing 11 and 6% Critical Chance in Armors and Weapons respectively.

Due to the many synergies we have on crits, for many builds Knights > Soldiers. Draconic crafted may indeed be the easiest way to get it, unless you want to run a lot of Arah and SE.
Agreed that Knight > P/T/V gear also based on the fact that heals only heal about half your health (Healing Surge) and with greater toughness, we get actually a larger effective health pool through toughness, we also get the precision to do more damage. Since we already have the highest base health, we can focus on just toughness for the mitigation and condition removal abilities to cover up for the health pool. The larger your health pool, the weaker % wise your heals give you. This opens up more space to get gear that specialize in more damage via power/precision/crit dmg.
High health pool/high healing = toughness;
low health pool = vitality;
That’s how it is, generally. We have high health pool but not such decent healing(some things can make it solid, though)
So you should aim mostly for toughness and then chip it with a bit of vitality(or maybe none at all if you think you’ve got some solid healing)
Topic name makes no sense since vitality and precision aren’t really connected.

He didn’t mean that it was connected, he was just asking if it was a good trade, since he is torn between P/T/V or P/P/T

I know this doesn’t go along with the topic but it might help him (and me). Would it be best to use sigils of fire with Power/Toughness/Vitality gear and which runes would benefit the most? I’ve been thinking runes of rage or strength.
I use runes of rage in one of my sets of gear. As a warrior you can almost always have fury up so with runes of rage you are getting more crit power than rune of divinity at a fraction of the cost. 15 crit power = rage 12 crit power Divinity.
I don’t have any experience with runes of strength but as a warrior the same goes u can have might up all the time almost so you will always have a 5% damage boost.
Not sure with math which would give you more DPS I kinda think a 15% increase in crit power only benefits you when you crit, while the 5% damage would be mostly active all the time. I think if your going soldier gear the might runes would be better if you are going soldier accessories too. Becasue your not going to crit alot. But if you do soldier gear with all knights accessories and berserker weapons you will get something like 40% crit rate. So In that case rage works great when your under fury your going to have 60/70 crit rate…. its a tough call. both are great. Id do rage runes though with berserker weapon and knight/zerker accessories if you are doing solder gear with rage runes becasue your going to need precision which will will lack to make it work.

Oops.. I meant power/precision/toughness. I’m using knights jewelry with ruby gems so I think I’ll go with the runes of rage. Thanks.
